Okay...so, the sandman close-lined me...it was a sneak attack man...he’s cunning...I wake up seven hours later with sleep paralysis - which of course, sucks major ass...come’n up out of this Poltergeist dream, likely inspired from a loose lip conversation about how sexy JoBeth Williams looked roll’n around on the ceiling in noth’n but a football jersey and undies...heh...and no, a shame that part didn’t filter into the dream, no...just the monsters...heh...so I jerk myself out of unconsciousness and shuffle to the store...and you know, I’m not nearly awake enough yet, so that by the time I get to the store and have to mumble the words, “basics, full-flavor”, everything has that all-to-high contrast quality, like I’m either stoned or still dreaming...at which point some of the mid-west’s best idiots yuck their way into the store behind me, snickering...one of them whistles those two notes - those two notes, like the shortest mating call ever concieved, and they all yuck it up, calling out as I leave, “with hair like that, I thought you were a girl”...yuck, yuck, chuckle, chuckle...fuck’n mouth-breathing idiots...ah well...

Anyhoo...enough bitching...heh

here’s the fan art I would have finished earlier, but I passed out.

if you haven't already peeked, you should check out [info]drewweing 's journal...
"BLAR" is only a small example of how talented this guy is.

brilliant, brilliant
the simplicity of the art on Blar,
and the humour,
reminds me of sergio aragones' Groo.
Although those stories were a little more complicated :P

yeah...I thought of Groo right away too...in fact, I've thought I've seen shades of Aragones in various artists work recently...certainly some to be found in [info]daltonsharp 's work...as well as [info]sach 's illustrations...i know there was more, but i can't recall at the moment. it's refreshing to see though.

after the peurile humour wore off (i never thought it would, but I can only take so much lameness) Aragones was the only reason I would buy mad magazines.

:) thanks man...I don't know, Drew's got some mighty big shoes to fill when it comes to his own characters...heh
but this was a lot of fun...no doubt.
I've got this character ( Donald ) that's been in my own head for a while now, kind'a the same theme...one scene to the next destroying monsters, but i think i'll forego the big sword idea...hard tell'n when i'll start it, but it'd be fun to have other artists design the monsters, and each strip i could have Donald kill it...heh

hi Beetle.
I am glad to say i have re-discovered uminthecoil.
I spent some time away from any online community, but now that school is back in session, i spend a lot of time in the computer lab looking for distractions on the internet.
so just letting you know that you are now under my watchful eye.
hope to communicate soon.
-jon
oh yeah. nice work. heh. it's nice to know that i can alwasy count on you and your journal for visual and mental stimulation.
should realy wait until i'm done talking to sign my name, eh?

Beetle!
its good to hea rfrom you too!
nothing up now, but im in this web design class so soon something will be up.
unfortunately, it's difficult to do anything for fun regarding creativity when school keeps me so busy.
ah well.
but yeah. my brain never stops reeling new ideas, it's getting them down which is the hard part. heh usually i just have to convince myself that it's not a very good idea,,, then focus back on staying on the road in my lane and watching for cops. ... and I still get a lot of mileage out of "Good Morning Earth" for making mixtapes. ahhah.
Hotpickle forever!

so what do you do with yourself now?
send me an email some time.

I was ordained by the Church of Slack as a Priestess of some sort. It's sort of like Discordia, but the idea is you don't bother believing in anything.
