8:14PM - Addendum to my last post
7:50PM - Coming out of LJ-posting-lurkdom...
... to post about Harry Potter 7, what else?!
And that was my huuuuge, post-HP ramble. I had to let off some energy after sitting on the couch all day, reading. ;)

11:21AM - Family!
*snicker* I love the in-depth conversations I have with my dad.
*I dial his cell phone* Dad: Hi, I'll call you back later! Me: Ok, bye! *we both hang up*
Oy.
(And no, my dad isn't ghastly - I just love my Simon icon and use any occasion to flaunt it. :P)

12:33PM - Memememe
Snagged from mereilin - because I'm bored and like to talk about myself. Go figure. :P
1. Elaborate on your default icon. It's April Ryan from The Longest Journey - the best adventure game ever! I'm not that sure why it's my default - I just like the coloring of it, and I love April. She's spunky!
2. What's your current relationship status? Married, No Children (as of yet).
3. Ever have a near-death experience? Not a near-death experience as such - but once, I was biking along a busy street and pulled over because my cell phone rang. When I was done talking, I biked on - and 200 meters further ahead, a biker had been killed when a car had swerved onto the biking path. I don't know; if I hadn't stopped it could have been me.
4. Name an obvious quality you have. Haha. I like talking about myself. Or did it have to be a good quality? ;)
5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now? "I wish I was a punkrocker" or whatever it's called. Probably because it's the last one I heard before going on vacation, where I didn't hear other music for a week.
6. Name a celebrity you would marry: I don't believe celebrities are portrayed true to their personalities in the tabloids, so I can't really name one I think I'd be compatible with.
7. Who will cut and paste this first? As I'm catching up on friends' entries backwards, I'm sure someone already has.
8. Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity? Not that I recall.
9. Do you wear a watch? What kind? I used to go crazy if I didn't, but then I had a job where it wasn't allowed, and now I've gotten used to not wearing one. But I usually have my phone with me, and it tells the time. And I work with computers, so it's rare for me not to have some kind of time-teller in the vicinity.
10. Do you have anything pierced? My ears. And that's all I'll ever have pierced, thank you very much.
11. Do you have any tattoos? Not yet. I hope to some day.
12. Do you like pain? Freaky question. I'd rather avoid pain - but I have a fairly high threshold.
13. Do you like to shop? Only if I feel like I can afford the items I buy. I hate "necessity" shopping, and I'll never be a big windowshopper.
14. What was the last thing you paid for with cash? Ice cream on the vacation.
15. What was the last thing you paid for with your credit card? Groceries.
16. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone? My dear husband, in doubt of which cheese to get me. :p
17. What is on your desktop background? A scene from "Blackadder" - bwaha.
18. What is the background on your cell phone? A butterfly.
19. Do you like redheads? I'm married to one! And I hope my kids will get his hair color; it's gorgeous.
20. Do you know any twins? I went to high school with a twin - but I don't know his brother. Does that count?
21. Do you have any weird relatives? If in-laws count, then a resounding yes.
22. What was the last movie you watched? Pirates 2 - yeah!
23. What was the last book you read? I'm currently reading The Hyperion Omnibus by Dan Simmons. I finished the first book, Hyperion, on vacation and am now reading The Fall of Hyperion.

9:29PM - Whoo hoo
I just scored me a second job!
Money, money, money.
Current mood: accomplished
4:05PM - And oh!
I applied for a second job (might as well make as much money as possible), and have an interview tonight. It's an administrative position here at the dorm. Pretty neat. At least it won't take me long to go to work - around 3 minutes or so. :P
Pending I get it, of course. But I think there's a good shot.
Current mood: hopeful
4:04PM - The meaning of ironic contradiction
I love those types of people who, for instance, claim to have "read and loved!!!" "The Da Vinci Code three times and seen the movie twice, and yet spell things like "Opus Dey" and "Priory of Scion".
*snort* *eyeroll*

12:59AM - How utterly sucky
So I spent half the day yesterday and at least 12 hours today playing Dreamfall.
Just finished it.
AND FUCK, IT SUCKED!
Gaaaaah!!! It actually sucked so much that it tainted my perception of the original TLJ, because I'll never be able to play it without thinking about what they do to the characters later.
Fuck. Actually, it dudn't suck majorly (or I wouldn't have finished it) - it was just bland, the gameplay was action/adventure (with fight elements and glitchy graphics, which I loathehate!), and, meh, it just didn't work.
It didn't help that the "plot twist" was totally irrelevant and didn't add anything to the overall storyline.
Damn. I feel so bitter now. The way you do when you anticipate something great, but get suckiness.
Current mood: very, very disappointed

12:27PM - 666
Hhahahaha. I was just reminded of this little tidbit...
So today is the whole antichrist/number of beast/son of satan thing.
That's all well and good, but if we'd been a little more patient, it would also have been our wedding day! "Who wants to get married on a day that's connected with Satanism?!?!" you may ask. But the answer is simple:
In Danish, the word for 6 is "seks". It's pronounced just like "sex", which is also the word we use in Denmark for that particular activity. In Denmark, if you read a date numerically, you say each digit out loud. For instance, my birthday, May 24 1982, would be 24-05-82, or, twenty-four, zero/oh five, eighty two. So, 06-06-06 would be: zero/oh six, zero/oh six, zero/oh six.
In Danish, the word for zero is "nul" (like null). "Nul" is also slang for "no", as in "no candy for you today!".
So, this long and rambling explanation leads up to this: If we'd been married today, we could tell people we were married on "no sex, no sex, no sex".
Bwahaha.
.....
Well, we thought it was funny back then. :P (And honestly, the whole devil/666 thing didn't even strike me! Thank goodness we didn't do it. Ahem. Though I do think the women who are deadly afraid of giving birth today are damn hysterical.)

10:32AM - Funny website pimping
omg another update1!11!!
If you're bored, I recommend these websites:
Go Fug Yourself - totally hilarious if you like making fun of the way famous people dress.
Mock The Stupid - the webpage - it's an LJ community, and now it's also a webpage with comic strips based on the stupid entries!
Vote for the Worst - probably only funny if you watch American Idol. :p
Television Without Pity - bwaha. They have "reviews" of a lot of different shows. Here there be cutting-edge sarcasm and cynisism (but we love it!).

9:32PM - Yes, yes, alive and kicking
... figuratively speaking, of course.
And I'm really just pimping my new icon. :P Yes, I admit it: I, too, have become obsessed with American Idol, and Simon Cowell is totally my pissy British hero!
That's all. I promise, I'll start updating regularly. In case anyone misses me. (And no, that wasn't a passive-aggressive fishing for comments.)

5:03PM - It's alive!
Haha. Funny meme. (I know; I make a post for the first time in ages, and it's a meme. How dull.)
How will you die?! Go to Google, and type: "'Your name' was killed by" and post the most interesting!
Mine is:
Kristine was killed by seven blows on the back of the head, numerous wounds on the front, and strangulation
Eeek!

1:09PM - Regarding HT
Well, thanks to the input I received on my last thread, I decided to hang around HT a little longer. :) I just logged in for a few minutes, and I guess that's taken me off the reap list.
I seem to have missed out on all the plots, though - someone has to poison Pyrene?! Maybe I should volunteer and get my chars killed anyway. *cackles* ;)

7:05PM - Erf. What to do?
Thanks to comradecharlie I was just reminded that my HT characters are about to get reaped.
I've been getting the 1-month, 2-month, 3-month warning. 4 months, and it's reap-time.
I guess there's a reason I haven't just logged on and secured the lives of my chars. :P
I just don't know.... For the past 3 months I can't honestly come up with just a span of 2 hours where I could've been justified in using my time on RP instead of other things. That aside, I think the Pern concept has just totally lost its appeal to me. Usually I can read the books and get into it again, but the thought of reading them, well... it bores me! That's a first.
So, meh... the only real loss I'd feel is that of chatting with all you cool people who RP. Everything else is just nostalgia. It's a little bad now that I think about it. :( But I just don't see myself ever getting back into online RP, and especially not Pern...
So, I need some impromptu advice. :P
Reap now or log-in and probably go through this all over again in 6 months' time?

5:08PM - Meh exam
Got a B+. (A 9 for you Danes) I could have gotten an A if they hadn't asked us questions outside our required reading. A tad unfair, I guess, but c'est la vie. Eh.
I'll live. At least they told us we wrote a super report, which I'm really happy about!
