Current mood: begging

Entertain me, PLEASE!
I desperately need your help.

Remember several months ago when I mentioned that most of my office was going to be gone and I was going to be bored out of my mind at work? Well, tomorrow there's a regional meeting for the office 3 hours away. Everyone is going to be gone except me and one guy who sits in the back. No one else is going to be there. My workload is going to be next to nothing.

That's where you guys come in.

I can't read LJ at work. Well, I could, but I'm pretty sure they monitor what pages I go to at work. However, I can check my email. It'll just show up as me going to hotmail, something I do every day. Any comments to my posts or comments go to my email. So what I need you guys to do is to post fragment, drabbles, stories, riddles, ANYTHING in the comments of this post. Got some funny life story you always pull out at family holidays to entertain people? Post away. Want to write me unexpected Hikaru no Go smut? Fine be me! Just want a captive audience? I'm right here!

Please? PLEASE? Otherwise I'll be forced to reread all of Etiquette Hell and laugh hysterically at the "downplay the Jesus" story. Again.

Oh, geez... as far as my life goes, I have got NOTHING for you. ^^; And I haven't written much of anything lately, so I don't have much for you there either.

But... I *am* planning on starting a new story. It's an original story, so that might not be as much fun as you'd like, but I'm sort of having a good time thinking about it right now. I don't mind going into that a little... Not sure if that's actually interesting, but hey, you can always just skip over this if it's boring, so it's probably no big deal.

So it'll probably sort of mix supernatural and natural - in a way. I just got this urge to do something more mystical (again), so it looks like this'll be another legend-based story. I'm *hoping* it'll be short - I know what I want to have happen, and I know how I want it to end. I don't want to do a lot of messing around in the middle, really.

But knowing my original stories, it'll probably just get long somehow and I'll be cursing it.

Last time I did a mystical-type story, the main character was a skeptic who swore by practicality. This time it's an enthusiast, and the allure of that fantastical stuff is going to be pretty tempting to him. There's actually going to be some complications with the romance - I don't do that a lot, but this time I am - but the main conflict will be reality vs fantasy, and it's going to come out in several different ways. Yay...

I get to have a cute redhead in there too. HaHA! *really likes red hair* I don't have enough redheads in my fiction. That must change.

There'll probably be more sex in this one than there was in the last one. ^^; Whether or not I actually *write* the sex depends on my mood when I get to the scene. A quick cut-off is always a good way out of that. Heh.

Er, yeah. Well... anyway... *tries to think of more to say*

You know, cheddar is a lot more interesting than mozzerella(sp?). It has a more distinct flavor. And it's better on sandwiches. Mozzerella is good for pizza. Cheddar is good for pretty much everything else.

Feta is the best kind of cheese. Yum!

You know what baffles me? Touya Akira's hair. I don't know how he manages with it - it'd be so bloody frustrating, trying to keep it out of your face. Especially since he plays a board game for a living. You'd be concentrating very hard, and then all of a sudden... hair in your face! I hate when that happens. I really just can't believe he doesn't at least tuck it behind his ears or something. Does he have big ears that he just wants to hide? Or maybe they're square. And he just doesn't want people calling him a freak.

Anyway, he must have trained himself not to be bothered by his hair. I'll bet that took years. He must have a lot of discipline. And he's learning Go at the same time - man. Pretty impressive.

I wonder what the world would be like if we were to all employ Davis-logic in our daily lives. I'll bet it'd be a weird place. People might be happier, though. After all, as long as it makes sense to you... you're not bothered by it. Right?

A truly logical person would probably go crazy. That would be funny to watch.

Jun and Tai should have a hair war. See who can defy gravity the most, or in the most interesting way. I mean, because Tai looks like a big cactus, and Jun's more of a star shape. Jun's is less of an oddity, though, because Davis has spiky hair, too. Tai's the weird one in his family - his parents are normal, and Hikari's hair has no volume to it at all.

I wonder what would make a person's hair do that, anyway. Maybe he was frightened really, really badly when he was young, and now it just all grows that way.

I will never believe that epilogue where his hair is normal. There's just no way that could happen. One of the many reason the 02 epilogue makes no sense.

Then again, Izzy had some pretty impressive spikes in Adventure too, and cutting his hair short made them all go away. Maybe Tai could do the same sort of thing.

I still don't buy it, though. Tai's hair is just... beyond natural laws.

... I think I'm out of random thoughts. Must be tired.

Hopefully that helped, anyway.

You have inspired Hikaru no Go fic based on your ramblings. XD

I agree that feta is the best cheese. My cousins own a Middle eastern store and I buy a lot of feta cheese from them. It's so very good.

And I like your original stuff! You are one of the few author who I will read anything you write.

YES! I INSPIRED FIC! GO ME!

Feta cheese is so yummy... My dad hates it when I eat it plain, but I can't help it - it's great. I'm always stealing it from the salad before it's tossed.

You've just made my day - you have no idea how much that compliment means to me. *hugs* Especially coming from someone who writes like you.

Sometimes she forgets her name. Not for long, never for more than a few moments, but nonetheless there are times, when the sunlight is warm and bright and light against her skin, when the noise of the town seems to fade and fade away, and for a moment, she thinks Sen.

And then she comes round the corner of the road and the light hits the lake just right, so that it sparkles like glass, like diamonds, like the silver-sheened scales of the one thing that she will always remember, no matter how old she gets or how much she learns, and she remembers her name, Chihiro, and she remembers it in his voice.

I really don't know what to write, but this reminds me that I still owe you a drabble. Hm. If you get desperate and want to try surfing someplace else, there's always Gridlock, but I guess that doesn't help much if you can't go there, huh?

Things to do. Hm, hm. I need to write a CV in English, but have no idea how to do so, so I keep putting it off. But that doesn't help you, huh?

Oh! Snippet!

In Berlin, at the language contest thing. R., Marie, Louise, Esther, Daniel and I are in town, looking for places to go. We're speaking English just for fun, and there's a fish monger on the corner... with a big sign, announcing that they were selling flounders. All six of us burst into pervy mode... and drew the oddest stares. 'twas great fun. Now you're probably going, "what's so funny about flounders?", and I'll tell you...

The lower German word for flounder is Butt.

My amusing little story of the day. I might be back with more later.

Old GW drabble. DUO AND WUFEI:

"I've never been much for the Zen 'thing'," Duo says, wrinkling his nose in that way he does when he's genuinely thinking about something. He looks at Wufei frankly over the top of the open file. The light in the kitchen over the sink is flickering, but both of them are ignoring it. It's too late at night to be concerned about perpetuating the light.

"I know," Wufei replies; he doesn't need to look at the other pilot to know that he's paying attention. "But I think it might do you good, anyway." He pauses, and then reaches for his tea, which is beginning to grow unpleasantly cool. Wufei drinks it anyway.

Duo is tapping his pen against the tabletop, an impatient, irregular rhythm, following the beat of the song that drifts, tinny and small, from the headphones around his neck. "You think I aughta take up meditation?" he says, grinning slightly now. "No offense, man, but I don't like to sit still that long. I get bored if I don't have something to do." He's lying and they're both aware of it. Duo will not sit still because stillness brings thought, and memory, and both are things he spends his life avoiding.

Wufei strives for that stillness, for that awareness, for it returns the truest echo of the self. In the silence he can find himself again when the world seems in turmoil. Duo has no desire to find himself; Duo has no greater wish than to lose who he is and what he is becoming.

"I know," he repeats, a bit more quietly, and he sips serenely at his now cool tea. Duo's eyes are on him, and though he feigns innocence Wufei knows he understands. "But I think it might help you to find yourself."

A random Sky Captain drabble:

The two of them have kept their secret between them for years now, since they were teenagers, and neither has any intention of sharing it now. Joe smirks about it sometimes, playfully leading public conversations into the right place for an admission, and Dex always responds with the same old roll of the eyes and the expected evasion.

Frank suspects it, has hinted at it once or twice, but she's always been good at giving the impression that she's aware of everything having to do with Joseph Sullivan, and neither of them has ever offered to prove her suspicions correct.

Polly doesn't know, but what Polly doesn't know won't hurt her.

"You'll probably have to tell her someday," Dex says, his attention focused entirely on the task of inserting a screwdriver into something that looks dangerous and electrical. Joe knows, of course, who "she" is- "she" has only ever been one woman- and he smiles, expression dismissive, even though Dex can't see it.

"Someday," he agrees amiably. "Not today. Not tomorrow either. The gag's too much fun."

Dex grins briefly at his work. "This is all in the name of fun?"

"Among other things, I guess," says Joe in a careless sort of way. "Besides, it's none of Polly's business, anyway, who I'm-"

"She finds out. When she really wants to know something, she finds out." Dex glances at him finally, but he doesn't look worried. "You of all people should know that."

Joe leans over, puts a hand on top of Dex's head, and ruffles his hair affectionately.

"So she finds out I've got a little brother," he says. "Where's the harm in that?"

"You... lied to me." Polly stopped walking to turn around and give Joe a look.

"What are you talking about?"

"You told me you sabotaged my plane. It wasn't you, was it?" Joe said. Polly rolled her eyes.

"No, I did not sabotage your plane."

"So then you lied to me," Joe said. "How am I to trust you if you never tell me the truth."

"I told you the truth for years. You never beleived me." There was a long pause where Joe refused to back down or feel guilty. Polly finally broke the silence. "You weren't lying when you said you'd been with Frankie, were you?"

"No."

"And you say you can't trust me."

Joe called her name repeatedly and was eventually forced to follow.
