In case anyone else is worried that the current LJ userpic issue will cause them to lose some of their userpics - you can save them all to your own computer simply by navigating to your userpics page and saving it as a file. In Firefox 3, that's File/Save Page As..., and then select "Web Page, complete" from the menu and click save. A replica of your userpics page, with all keywords and comments, will be saved where you specify, and then you can back it up by your usual method. Note that if one of your userpics has already been replaced by the bug, the wrong image will be saved.
I only mention this because it takes about 5 seconds to do, and I spent at least that many minutes trying several more complicated and less satisfactory ways to back up my userpics.

Oh, great, I've caught the "random icon replacement" lurgy as well@. This post should have the "halo'd Vala" icon that vilakins made (Claudia Black looking saintly before a Stargate); instead I see something about being queen of the passive-aggressives. Which is not a sentiment I wish to incorporate into my identity. I have cleared cache and reloaded, but no change.
I really hope this doesn't mean that LJ have permanently lost the original image file :( I might have a copy of it on a CD somewhere, but it will probably take some finding. Bah.

I went to the GP this morning (nothing bad). Was seen by a new chap, and I'm quite sure that he's - duhnduhnDUHN! - younger than me. That's a first :/ I couldn't quite make out the date on the degree certificate hanging on the wall. I hope I didn't make it too obvious that I was looking.
Soon, much too soon, I will encounter practising physicians that I personally taught as undergraduates, and then the world will end.

After a lot of whine-worthy weather recently, I'm pleased to report that it's lovely here today. The sun is shining, there's a gentle breeze, and washing is drying on the line for the first time in months.
The BoT also bought wellies. His are most emphatically not purple. No, no, no-ooo, they are the iconic, ultra-manly, beloved of the rural Ennzedd bloke, Skellerup Red Bands (see also).
They're also just a wee skerrick larger than mine ;)
