herp derp 101 in 1001 days list
This is a list of 101 goals that I am to complete in 1001 days. You can find more information about it beneath the cut. It's here at the top of my journal so that I can pressure myself to get my ass moving on it! If you like the idea of this list, then please feel free to do it yourself. I got the idea from [info]jan1_2008, anyway.

Detailed updates on the list can be found in a separate entry here.

THE SUPER AWESOME LIST )

VOTING RAAAAAGE
I went downstairs into the kitchen a few minutes ago to grab a dinner roll, and my parents were standing there talking. My dad told me that he finished filling out his ballot and I was like "oh cool," but then my mother told me...

"Dad said you could look off his ballot if you wanted to. He read up on all of the stuff on it."

...WHAT! What the HELL!? I thought they were more serious about voting than this!

Voting is not a fucking test! You can't get the answers to it from the smartest kid in the class! It's a goddamn decision, there is no absolute right or wrong to it. Fucking. Fuck. We might all be liberal hippie shits but that does not mean we're all going to agree with each other on EVERYTHING on that ballot.

I just responded with "...okay," but obviously I won't be taking them up on their offer.

DONBURI BANZAI~!
So the new fall anime season has started. Subs are starting to come out now but they took a surprisingly long time what with the amount of people excited for it all. But I really can't complain too much considering they're free.

Kuroshitsuji is going to be a must-watch for me. I already saw episode one yesterday and I am really anticipating new episodes. It is a fangirl's (wet) dream. I can't deny that I'm a sucker for neo-Victorian themes but the characters are also great (and delicious) and I'm interested to see where the story goes. I also skimmed through a raw of episode one of Bihada Ichizoku, which I thought I would really like, but it is... well I'm not sure if I'll continue to watch it, I'm definitely not interested if it isn't going to be subbed. It's very old school shoujo in its art and storytelling styles, so it's more than a little ridiculous. Maybe I should just watch it for a good laugh. Also every episode is about 8 minutes long. Other shows I plan to at least check out are Hakushaku to Yousei, Heart no Kuni no Alice (an OVA that's coming out in November), Michiko to Hatchin, and of course I'll continue to watch Shugo Chara! until the bitter end. And the Yes! Precure 5 GoGo movie will be out in early November! But I won't be able to see it until the DVD comes out. :( I was considering Shikabane Hime: Aka awhile ago but now I'm really not interested.

The end of the year is very exciting. There are many interesting things happening online such as NaNoWriMo and events on Poupeegirl but upcoming holidays are also very exciting. Knowing that I'll be able to return to school very soon also has me freaking ecstatic. As long as I can get my bills under control and eliminate a couple of them before the middle or end of January then I can go back to working part-time. I realized a few days ago that working full-time while taking what will probably be five classes is a REALLY HORRIBLE IDEA and I have no idea what I was thinking.

Me and my entire family received our ballots a few days ago. I've already started on mine but considering I need to read up on everything within it except for my presidential choice, it is pretty time-consuming. I think I took like an hour yesterday filling out my choices on amendments, and I didn't even do all of them. And it's not like it's particularly exciting either. But, whatever. It will get done of course or else I will probably get a smack upside the head from my father. Also I'm pretty sure my entire immediate family is voting for the same person for president.

I'M A BIG GIRL NOW
Well, I got my Nakayoshis. And that is fantastic. I have a good furoku haul, including a small Shugo Chara! purse that will be good for those times when I don't need to carry a bunch of stuff around with me, and a Shugo Chara! poster which I have put up on my door. I only set aside a few things to either sell or give away and I'm not even sure if I will or not yet.

So I have read a few more chapters of the Precure 5 manga now. I was hoping there'd be more Coco/Nozomi but hey, at least there was some. It actually seems like the entire GoGo manga is pretty much about Kurumi fighting with Nozomi over him (though Nozomi really isn't getting very gung-ho about it), based on these chapters as well as scans of particular scenes I've seen from other chapters. There are only like 15 pages per chapter at the most so they don't really have the space to get into stories about Precure fighting villains and such like the anime does, so I guess RELATIONSHIP TROUBLE is where it's gone instead.

But I have some bad news about actually scanning those chapters. I was going to do it immediately, really I was, and I tried to. Unfortunately my father's computer, which is what the scanner is hooked up to, is currently busted. I don't know if he's aware of that because it's apparently an overheating issue, so it probably shut off over the past few days with him and my mother being in New York and all. It doesn't surprise me considering he leaves it on constantly and doesn't really do any maintenance on it to ensure that it can stand to be on for that long. So yeah, when I loaded up the scanning program it shut off again from the overheating. Oh and it was making a pretty horrible noise. I only tried once since I knew that even if I was able to start, finishing would be a huge pain in the ass with me probably having to turn the damn thing back on several times. So sorry, the scans won't be available as soon as I said they would be. It won't be a ridiculously long time since he will either need the computer fixed or need a new one but it could certainly be several weeks.

So I've been home alone (and at work) for the past few days with my brother stopping by about an hour each day to eat and/or take care of Radar. I'm living it up since it's guaranteed freedom for about a week. I can be home alone while my parents aren't out of town because they'll be at work, but that only lasts for a few hours at the most and I always have to hold back in what I do and be quiet when it's night. For the next few days, why I could... vacuum the dining room at 3 AM if I wanted to! Which I don't. But I could. And indeed I am keeping the house tidy and gathering newspapers and mail and such. There really isn't much cleaning when there's only one girl and one dog in the house but I'm making sure to keep up with dishes and I'll be vacuuming up dog fur and watering plants tomorrow. Speaking of dog fur, Ray could also use a brushing.

edit

Speaking of my Ray-pookie, here he is. :)
His name is actually Radar but Ray is the obvious choice for a nickname.
This is a pic I've been meaning to share for awhile.
I know several of you have seen him already but I have lots of new friends now who probably haven't!
So, there he is. He's enormous but only because he's chock full of LOVE!

I hear someone whistling far away, clicking their heels on the cobblestone. but I can't get her back
So I got a call yesterday before work saying that the final volume of Sugar Sugar Rune was in. I was freaking floored because I was so excited about reading it and it wasn't supposed to come out until the 30th. So I swung by the book store after work (thank goodness they're open an hour later than the rest of the mall) and picked it up. MY COLLECTION IS COMPLETE and holy crap was it ever a good read.

thoughts and spoilers behind the cut )

My Nakayoshis shipped out the same day I ordered them so despite my worries it all went off without a hitch. :) I assume I'll receive them Monday but I'll have my brother keep an eye out for the package over the weekend.
And I'm sure it's obvious since I didn't mention getting it but I indeed have not ordered the 2009 Precure calendar yet, reason being that the release date was pushed back a couple of days. Oh well, I'll get it before the end of the year, and maybe it will be discounted more than it already is.
