| Today was one of those days when I realized that those silly stories you read in books can sometimes happen in real life. Really.
Example 1#: Strange But Amusing Acts of Humiliation Remember those bad fanfiction (or quizilla quizzes, in the past few months/year, especially during that huge Naruto phase) in which characters had sleepovers or parties and played those ridiculous games and had ridiculous dares? You know, in which characters had to sing and dance around in outrageous outfits or do other humiliating acts?
Well, that happened in French class. Except, without you know, the sleepovers and less than G-rated activities. In an effort of making us study for once (because as it turns out, our class fails as a whole), Madame Meservey filled a box full of slips of paper full of humiliating acts to perform if we couldn't answer her questions. If you answered right, you were safe and could pass the box to some other poor soul. If not, you were screwed and had to pick out a slip of paper from the box and perform it. And boy was it amusing, :D
Sebastien had to don a wig, dance, and sing the ABC's. But because he couldn't remember them in French, he ended up serenading Gary (with a Wendy's/Pippi Longstocking-esque wig) with Frere Jacques. But it was really amusing because he got into it (or more like, right in Gary's private space) and was singing in a lovestruck-ish voice while being dramatic-ish. That was like, the highlight of my day. We also had Gary skip around the room while counting to twenty and Marie walk to to the door like a duck while singing Frere Jacques.
Haha, wow.
Example 2#: Strange, Humorous Accidents So my English teacher broke his leg and gave a nice story about it too. Apparently, he was in the library at lunch when he saw something about to be spilled on the keyboard of a computer and so he lunged towards it in an effort to save it. While he did save the keyboard, he ended up on the floor with his leg in serious pain and couldn't move. When he tried to get help from the librarian and students, they all thought he was fooling around (because he has the tendency to be a little dramatic) and no matter what he said, they didn't believe him.
So he had to crawl across the library to get to the phone and he called the secretary to tell her to get someone to help him up so he could go to his class and teach. But even the secretary thought he was kidding and was all like, "HAHA, you're so funny." until some long, exasperated moments later, she realized he wasn't joking and sent for help. Apparently a few minutes later, the three principals of the school came into the library armed with cameras and a rolley chair. Yeah, you heard me right. CAMERAS. So, they were taking pictures of him and laughing while he was all writhing on the ground and had to help him into a rolley chair because apparently, there weren't any avalaible wheelchairs in the school. When they rolled him into an elevator, they just left him there and waved cheerfully at him as they sent him down the floor without even helping him. To get revenge, apparently Mr. Werner purposefully lay on the floor of the elevator with the chair on top of him so when the elevator reached the first floor, they all thought something tragic and horrible happened and were immediately guilt-tripped into the rolling him into his classroom.
And when he reached his class, he had to teach for two hours in complete pain because they completely forgot to give him asprin or any painkillers of any sort. And when school ended, he thought his leg was better, attempted to walk to his car and epically failed. By then almost everyone had left and he was nearly stranded, if not for the fact the secretary of the building was still there. Turns out she had a walker so she helped him into his car and he drove to the hospital. However, when he actually reached the hospital, he realized he had no way of getting inside and had to grab onto cars and hop all the way in. When he went to the front desk, it turned out one of his former students was working there and she saw him, she was like, "OH MY GOSH, what happened to you?" and he started to explain when she interrupted and said, "No, no, not that. When did you get all old and bald?!"
Ouch. Talk about a burn. xDD; Anyways, he did get checked up and is now on crutches. Haha.

| So, I rediscovered my apparent ability to be really forgetful. It's only been four weeks since school started and I have lost an English binder, English book, and my French book. Luckily, they were all found but it's slightly ridiculous since I've never lost any school-stuff before. Ever. But anyway, for a better example, let's review my past three rehearsals at MYS.
1st Rehearsal: Forgot to practice. However, it was okay because I sat in the back of the orchestra and BS'd my way through it.
2nd Rehearsal: Forgot my stand. However, it was okay because about fifty seconds before we started, a nice second violinist lended me her stand. Originally, my plan was to wait for my stand partner to come and use hers but she showed up half and hour late. xDD;
3rd Rehearsal: Forgot my music. However, it was okay because my new stand partner brought hers and we share my stand because she forgot hers. And I didn't bring enough lunch money because I thought pizza was $1 when it's $2.50. So, I ate half a bag of uber-sweet cookies that I got really sick of. xDD;
So, it makes me wonder what I'll forget next week. x] I'm betting on my picture ID.

| So today morning (like, six something in the morning), I was yelled out of bed to do the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Which was pretty nice I guess, though the weather was terrible. Really, really terrible. The morning was chilly and full of drizzle and only got slightly warmer by the time I had to do the 5k Family March. Or whatever it was called. x]
My mom pretty much viewed as a "socializing" opportunity (Tcch, typical.) so we went with another family that we knew from some unknown social network connections. Okay, not really unknown because I've seen them around in those asian parties I'm always dragged to, but anyhow, while conversation wasn't exactly lively, it was okay and nice to see we could have a nice chat.
Oh, and there were lovely freebies. :D I got this pink scarf, some keychains, a sports-bag (Knapsack? Bag? Not quite sure what to call it.), and free food. Or more like, tiny cups of juice and tiny cups of granola. I'm not too fond of yogurt so I didn't take any. The march/race itself was kind of relaxing, despite the persistently cloudy weather.
Next year, I hope there's better weather. x]

| As a result of rereading all my favorite Harry Potter fanfiction (and tossing a good deal off my list, and why yes, I do keep a list of my favorite fanfiction), I fell into a sort of Harry-Potter-fandom fit and went on a hunt for decent sorting hat quizzes and Dark! Harry stories. While my results for the fanfiction were decidedly disappointing, after a while of scrounging the internet, I found some pretty good sorting hat quizzes. Which by the way, were almost unanimous in a decision I'm a Hufflepuff. Aha. xDD; Though most of my answers were Hufflepuff, I got an occasional Ravenclaw and once, a rare Slytherin and Gryffindor. That by the way, I'm still trying to figure out how I got it. Personally, I'd like to I'm more of a "Huffleclaw" but whatever. Here are some of the better quizzes I found:
Site 1: [x]
Gryffindor - 49 Ravenclaw - 64 Hufflepuff - 65 Slytherin - 59 Final Result: Hufflepuff
As you can see, it was a pretty close match between Raveclaw and Hufflepuff, but Hufflepuff was the winner. I'm pretty surprised Slytherin was so high though - usually, Slytherin is the least likely choice for me. I find this quiz one of the more decidedly better ones on the internet because it leaves a lot of wiggle room for choices (rather than forced choice).
Rating: 5/5
Site 2: [x]
Hufflepuff - 16 Ravenclaw - 11 Gryffindor - 9 Slytherin - 7 Final Result: Hufflepuff
This quiz was pretty straight-forward and you could easily see most of the results the choices correlated too, but it was a pleasant surprise after many "Favorite Color" andf other pointless questions in other quizzes.
Rating: 3/5
Site 3: [x]
Result: Hufflepuff NFJ
I actually liked this quiz because it was more scientific in thought and the way it was laid out, since it was actually based off a real personality test. You could foreshadow some choices but because the variety in answers (They split up the houses in two basic personality groups, which I loved), it makes it more enjoyable and surprsing.

[Warning: Vaguely Spoiler-ish] Ahhh, Rolling Love. It was only twelve episodes long but it managed to develop its plotline in such a short time. It was fast-paced and cute, with "awww" moments abound. The story centers around a blind singer, Guan Xiao Shu (Genie Zhuo), and her relationships with the five star chef and old friend Leng Lie (Danson Tang) and humorous chef Mi Qi Lin (Jiro Wang) who can only cook Fried Rice with Egg, but it's absolutely amazing. If you want a full synopsis, you can probably Wikipedia/WikiDrama it somewhere but that's it in brief.
What I love about this drama is that the female lead is likeable and human. She can be remarkably cutsey at times but it seems realistic, not just some girl trying to be adorable. She has her flaws, which she acknowledges as well. Also, what I find amusing, is that the two male leads actually get along. Unlike most dramas I've seen where the love rivals are having fights constantly, they become good friends, depsite their love for Xiao Shu. Also, both are willing to step aside if the other wins Xiao Shu's heart, rather than trying to extract revenge. Wa Sa Mi and San Cheng are mostly there for comic relief and they do it well, though it gets ridiculously annoying at some times.
Although it's relatively quick, they took their time with developing the actual relationships. You don't find out who Xiao Shu REALLY likes until the last episode (which I found rather unusual), though it was hinted a little throughout the drama. However, they kept on dropping so many Leng Lie/Xiao Shu hints when it looked like she and Mi Qi Lin were getting together and vice versa it was hard to tell who she was supposed to be with. Honestly, I thought Leng Lie/Xiao Shu actually had more romantic potential while Mi Qi Lin/Xiao Shu had more "best friends" vibes around them. But I guess those two were paired up in the end because Mi Qi Lin could provide her a "worry free happiness" while Leng Lie and Xiao Shu already had a past.
It's a little cheesy at times and overly dramatic, especially with Wa Sa Mi and San Cheng's antics/imagination. While sometimes it's funny, other times it's a little ridiculous. Also, personally, I thought Mi Qi Lin's character felt a little fake at times. I don't know whether it was just the acting because I've never watched any dramas with Jiro Wang or if it was just the character, but sometimes his sadness or acts of affection came out a little awkward to me. The "Half a Year Later" portion tacked on the end was cute, but I felt Leng Lie's ending was a bit disappointing, especially it doesn't explain WHY he's doing what he's doing. Also, I'm upset Xiao Shu suddenly had her hair cut. It was so long and pretty beforehand!
Anyways, overall really cute plotline, adorable characters, stellar acting, with occasions dashes of cheese and ridiculousness. But a great watch if you like Taiwanese Dramas.

| Today was a good day. :D Or life in general, despite breaking an iPod AND a phone. Whooo!
1. I auditioned for MYS today and got placed into Concert Orchestra which is awesome and amazing and fabulous. Especially since my cello skills are fairly crappy. But I feel I did my audition pretty well, so that would explain why I placed in Concert while my sister, who auditioned a few months ago, only made it into Vivaldi Strings. -deep breath- OHHH YEAAAAHH.
2. I saw a real WEINER MOBILE. Yeah, one of those Oscar Meir Hotdog Car ... things. That was ... AMAZING. Ahaha, I sound like such a dork. x]
3. Rolling Love, a Taiwanese drama I'm watching, is fantabulous. Awesome plot, likeable characters (Or to be more exact, a female lead I actually like. Gasp!), pretty scenes, great actors, and enough drama to keep you going. The only thing I can really complain about is that the plot is a bit sporadic and rushed, sometimes the acting is overly dramatic, and Mi Qi Lin (played by Jiro Wang) is such a ... spaz. While it's cute, sometimes it's a bit weird. Also, while I'm pretty sure it'll end up being Mi Qi Lin/Xiao Shu, they add waayyy too much Leng Lie/Xiao Shu to make it clear. While I adore both pairings to death, they better make the pairing clear because there's two episodes left to go and it STILL looks like it could swing either way. Booo. Anyways, it's a cute series if you like Asian dramas that are fairly short in length. Only 12 episodes long!
4. Heroes is coming out soon. YEAH. I'm pumped - all the trailers, previews or whatever look amazing. Now all I have to do is finish watching the second season. Haha. Also, True Blood, a new HBO show coming out soon looks pretty cool. Despite my bias against vampire stuff (Blame it on Twilight.), it looks actually kind of cool. Though everyone seems to have kind of a Southern drawl. Aha.

| As of right now, my schedule is:
1st Semester: 1. AP Chemistry (Lamberg) 2. AP Psychology (Shipley) 3. Family Health (Maher) 4. AP Language and Composition (Werner) 5. Human Anatomy and Physiology (Ridgway) 6. AP Calculus (Campbell)
2nd Semester: 1. AP Chemistry (Lamberg) 2. AP Psychology (Shipley) 3. AP Language and Composition (Werner) 4. 5. Human Anatomy and Physiology (Ridgway) 6. AP Calculus (Campbell)
---- Okay, on the problem part. The fact that I'm missing fourth period in my second semester is the least of my problems. As you probably noticed French is missing. That's because of dumb schedule conflicts known as French 5-6 only being in 2nd period and the only other Calculus class being in 2nd period which takes up the space I needed for English and-
- yeah, you get the idea. But anyways, after kicking French out I just realized that Mme. Meservey would kill me. Not only that but I can say bye-bye to French National Honors Society and French Club which both REQUIRE a french class to be in. Most of the colleges I want to go to highly recommend or require at least 3 years of language. And I like that class. :/ On the otherhand, I don't want to give up Psychology because a) AP classes are good, b) Science classes are good when you want to major in science, and c) I actually LIKE psychology. As said, I want to major in science and I need a solid background.
So, advice please? Please, please, PLEASE? I want this to get resolved as soon as possible. | |

| If you guys didn't catch it last night, you were missing a lot.
A lot, being defined as drop-dead amazing with its cinematic performances and stunning visuals. All in all, it was a visual feast. My congratulations go to Zhang Yimou for his excellent directing and the literally thousands (I believe it was fifteen thousand or so, correct me if I'm wrong) of performers for their hard work, the amount of blood, sweat, and tears put into it. Sure, at some parts, it was maybe a little ... over the top, but overall, it was just amazing. It would be hard to say it was anything short of spectacular. And gosh, the lighting of the torch ... that was just amazing. Wow.
As always, the parade of the nations was fun, but this time, accompanied by my sister's exclamations of, "I KNOW WHERE THAT COUNTRY IS. HA." because her summer assignment for AP Human Geography was memorize all the countries' names and locations. Yeah, seriously.
Pretty much the whole thing was amazing. Period. CHINESE PRIDE, YEAH.
Anyways, congratulations also the the U.S Women's Saber/Fencing Team for taking the medals by storm and Michael Phelps for getting the gold in his recent swimming event. :D | |

| Are you ready for them? Huh huh huh? Here comes the hoard. :D There in order by series. Kind of.
