After this, I have nothing but the upmost respect for anyone who can actually write Scar/Ed, esp. write one with an actual plot. ^_^ Anyway, here's another slut!Ed ficlet, mangaverse Scar/Ed.
Perversions of the Innocent
How twisted this society is. They deliberately go against the great Creator’s will. They pervert nature. They willfully twist and destroy all that they touch.
They even pervert their children, the innocent and ignorant.
I stare at this pale child in front of me. Edward Elric. The legendary Fullmetal Alchemist. I can feel the soldier’s blood staining me. He had died defending what he probably assumed was a child. At first glance, seeing those wide, stunned eyes staring at me, I can understand from where such an assumption originated. But I cannot fall under that illusion. He’s a state alchemist and thus another who perverts the Creator’s will.
At the moment, however, he looks no more than a frightened, beautiful young man who should be safely hidden behind his parents’ doors.
I step forward, not allowing my emotions to rule my actions. He doesn’t move, simply staring at me. Have you ever seen someone die in front of you, lovely one? I hope not. I hope that will be the first and last death you need to see before I send you to the next world.
Then the clock behind the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother rings, and the larger youth grabs Fullmetal’s arm and urges him into a run. Frustration fills me as I take off after them, not only at the unnecessary chase but at the prolonged misery this child is being subjected to. He won’t escape. All he is doing is stalling the inevitable.
They attempt escaping down an alley, further proving their ignorance. It takes no effort on my part to trap them. They turn on me like cornered beasts. They fight, but with each step and strike, they further prove their naïveté. I will admit, the truth behind Alphonse Elric’s form surprises me, but I ignore him as soon as he incapacitated. All I desire is his brother.
Within moments, Fullmetal’s automail arm is destroyed, and the child is slumped at my feet. His younger brother is screaming at him to escape. Fullmetal and I both know he will do no such thing. My heart aches as I stand over him. He won’t abandon his brother. He will not leave his brother to my wrath. I respect him for that.
For a long moment, I stare at his bowed head. His hair is bright and golden, matching his eyes. He is a beautiful creature, and for a moment, I allow myself to wonder what would have happened to this lovely youth if he had chosen a different path. If he had been born into another society, one not so defiant of the Creator’s will . . . would he have been a priest? A scholar? My hand hovers over his head. The fire had shone so brightly in his eyes when his brother had been attacked. That fire could have blossomed, grown and matured. Both he and his brother could have been free and safe.
I could have kept him safe. I could have protected him from this perversion. This beautiful being could have been so much more.
But it is too late. It is not a different world. This society had perverted this one, and I must do the Creator’s will.
I am sorry, beautiful one, Edward Elric. I shall pray for your soul and hope that you find peace in the other world.
Good-bye, lovely one. With an inward sigh, I lower my hand.
