I have fallen absolutely in love with ThouShaltNot.
But I simply cannot find any of their music.
I figured that here, of all places would have a clue. I'm willing to accept any 'donations', haha. If you have an album, I would be amazingly gratituous.. I need this, I crave it... If you could possibly upload an album [or even a song!] to a site such as megaupload, sendspace, or any of those. Even if you could email, or zip and send to me over MSN [kindestdemon@hotmail.com] that would be AMAZING.
I've spent months trying to find it.. and fallen short.
Please.

Hello everyone! I know this community seems dead, but I'd like to put a post in it anyway. This might be old news to some of you, since it was announced on May 29th... but since no one had said anything here, I'm taking the opportunity. Anyway!
A new ThouShaltNot album is in the works. The tracks that have been written for it so far are titled:
- A Safer World - Bayonette - Sick - Noah v1.0 - State Road 25 - Everything Could Change - Unresolved - Convincing
And you can read more about it here at ThouShaltNot's MySpace blog. However, there isn't much more to know about it so far.

Hey. I made this a few weeks ago, and figured I'd share it. It is basically a little mix of some of my friends and I's favorite alexx reed/TSN moments. It's silly and I hope it will make you chuckle. Remember that I am not a professional "remixer" and all i did was cut songs up and smoosh them together. Also I am a huge fan of TSN so any of the humor or implications of this file are meant only with the deepest of love and respect. Well maybe not the deepest, but I do like the band alot.

| Little Blue World |
[04 Aug 2006|10:37pm] |
The newest issue of Tori Amos fanzine Little Blue World is out, with a feature article on Where's Neil When You Need Him?, the Neil Gaiman tribute album. WNWYNH? not only features a track from Tori, but of course, ThouShaltNot (but y'all already knew that ; )~ ).
Honestly, I don't know what kind of mention TSN will get in the article, but it still might be worth checking out.
Oh, and I painted the cover.

Excelsior!

| TSN on Wikipedia -- Deletion? |
[20 Jul 2006|10:56pm] |
FYI;
If you'll check out the Wikipedia article on TSN, you'll notice it is "...being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy," due to one member saying the article "[lacks] notability, appears to be purely promotional."
Thus far, four other Wiki members have come out in support of KEEPING the article, which is good, and it should be kept (per their comments).
I mention this here, because if there is anyone in the community that has an account and posts on Wikipedia, to go and add your legitimate reasons and comments as to why the article should be kept (not just "TSN rules!" because that won't help anyone).
Thanks.

There is a brand new track from TSN on Where’s Neil When You Need Him?, the new CD from Neil Gaiman. IsoTank Music is now shipping Where’s Neil When You Need Him? (two weeks before its official release date of July 18th).
In addition to the lavish 20 page booklet with extensive liner notes by Neil Gaiman and exclusive all-new artwork from Dave McKean, there’s some fantastic music on the CD. All seventeen tracks are exclusive to this CD and are inspired by Neil's stories and characters. (Neil doesn't sing on the CD) ( Track listing behind the LJ CUT )

I have a MySpace page. What about it? YOU WANNA FIGHT?!?!
Anyway, I did a search to see if there was one for TSN, and there is one. It's a fan page, but I figured, "Yeah, ok, I'll just add it anyways."
Turns out they're CONVINCED you're a Christian band...probably just because of your name. For the listed genre, it said "Christian/Electronica"...but I just thought that was a joke.
Yeah, definitely not a joke, based on peoples comments...and the graphic used for the song "Inside of You, In Spite of You".
TSN MySpace Page
On one hand, I think it's pretty funny. On the other hand, I think it's a little misleading to people who don't know the band.
In any case, my Tater Tots are ready for eatin!

I'm looking for a copy of the CD titled ThouShaltNot that was released in 2000. Everywhere I've looked either insists it doesn't exist or says it isn't available. I also checked Ebay and half.com. So short of putting on puppy dog eyes and annoying the band I'm out of ideas. If anyone is willing to part with their copy I'd love you forever and pay most any reasonable price asked.

You are receiving this message because you have purchased some titles from us in the past by Switchblade Symphony, The Last Dance or ThouShaltNot. We therefore felt this information would be of interest to you.
The Last Dance has announced details of their new album, "Once Beautiful." The album contains twelve new tracks, including "Wish Me Closer" with vocals by Tina Root of Switchblade Symphony. We've heard it and it's brilliant: heartfelt, sincere, passionate goth rock with warm synths - very danceable, very rockin'.
Details are still pending for the new ThouShaltNot album, "Land Dispute," but in the interim, the band has self-released a super-limited-edition CD: only 500 copies printed! The disc is priced at $6.99 and contains a number of new tracks and exclusive remixes. We have a very limited supply of this disc; it is in stock now.
We will be shipping the new album by The Last Dance a full week ahead of the release date. We are already shipping the ThouShaltNot title.
To easily locate these items in our system, simply visit our web site at http://www.isotank.com and click on the Departments section. You will find The Last Dance under "Pre-order new releases" and ThouShaltNot in the "Arrived week of July 24" section.
We hope you found this information useful and as always we thank you for your business.

| Another review |
[25 Jul 2005|04:46pm] |
And so, after a week, I've had a decent amount of time to be a sponge to the water of "The Projectionist" maxi-single.
Track by track, briefly:
1) "The Projectionist" (single version) ~ I like to call this the "stadium rock" version. *grins* By far, my favorite moments are the word-play in the line "who's in whose skin"--Say it five times fast; that little "k" is a gem--and Jeremy's quotation of The Cure's "A Strange Day." Mmmmm. It took me a moment to divorce the snippet from its new home in this song, which is a good thing.
2) "Out of the Cave" ~ I liked most of the production, and the fact that it strays from the usual, but I really wish that the vocals would have been a bit more apparent. Despite that fact, they even used the same drippy water sample that I am using in another song, but looped it in a different way. Grrrr. (I'd recognize it anywhere. That either means that I have good taste, or that TSN is totally ripping me off. And yes, I'm kidding about that part. ;p )
3) "Inside of You, In Spite of You" (Ti Bon Ange mix) ~ This is great. I loved the original, but here, it is reinvented. Showcasing a well-crafted change in harmony from the previous version, it is simplistic, but sure of itself.
4) "The Projectionist" (Silent Film mix) ~ ...also very strong. I like the extension of the ending, and say "m-m-microtonality." This is the one that is still stuck in my head when I wake up in the morning.
5) "Something Dire" (live version) ~ I am not usually keen on live tracks, but it is still a nice addition to the disc. It manages to convey some of the energy and spontaneity of live vocals/synth/guitar/percussion: things that change often and that we are unlikely to hear from the polished production on a full album. M-m-musicianship...(are you growing weary of me, yet?)
6) "Walk Away" (Needlehole mix) ~ It's hard to put my finger on it, but I actually prefer this version to the demo on the website.
7) "The Projectionist" (Powerlines mix) Though still lovely, and a great variation in form and texture from the other versions on this EP, the percussion gets a bit relentless after a while. In that respect, it shows fewer considerations for the inherent form of the song than the others. At the same time, this disjunction is almost appropriate. I love, love, love the dissolution at the end...purely electric.
Of course, I want what any proper female wants: a too-cool eighth grade dance, a high-school dedication on the radio...but let's get it straight, I am an "admirer" and NOT a "groupie." Heh.
