It Was A Very Good Year... 1972 edition [Aug. 1st, 2008|11:40 am]

MaggieCame across this blog, Meet Me at Mikes, today and this post, It Was A Very Good Year...

I chose 1972, the year I was born. The first photo that caught my eye was The last time I saw Garth. I love the title, makes me want to write a short story. Not that I write short stories but if I did... And look what he's wearing! Sadly, seems the reason this was the last time she saw her brother was that he died.

The next, Breaking Up With Caroline - and I Used To Look Hot :o) - led me to a set, Maggie and Me, featuring a couple who dated in the early 70s and recently reunited - 32 years later. Then/Now. Love it.

pretty picot [Nov. 25th, 2006|01:40 pm]

Another scarf - this one is made from lilac and cream cotton yarn. I started with a base of a picot braid in lilac cotton and finished the edges in a cream picot. Feels sort of Victorian, I like it! :o)

hooked [Nov. 22nd, 2006|01:29 pm]

crochet scarfA crochet scarf made by moi earlier this month. My usual thing, no pattern, just make it up as I go along. I think it turned out really pretty! Now I just need to find a pretty vintage pin for it. Or maybe make one. Hmmm....

It's made from a nice pink cotton, a little thinner than worsted but not so thin that it took forever, just right. I started a black one with crochet cotton and it's soooooooooo slow going. I might finish that one... someday! :o)

cute times two [Aug. 10th, 2006|04:07 am]

cute times two
Nicky and her husband welcomed two very cute little boys to their family the other day. A few months back, I picked these sweet and oh so soft hatched eggs by Occupied, a fabulous little shop in Gastown. Today I made her a card to match them. Yay! Off to pop them in the post! :o)
