Blerg. So I amazingly miss out on being sick all winter long (a first) only to end up sick in summer instead. >_> I barely managed to get any sleep at all last night. Kept having to crawl over Kat and run to the washroom every 15-30 minutes. My immune system sure likes to play games.
Another first is thus far I have yet to be hot at all. No dieing in bed unable to move a muscle like most summers. I've actually been very cold all this time. Mind you summer only officially started a couple of days ago so..
We bought a couple of fold up chairs so we can go in the back and enjoy the lake view and breeze when we wish to relax. Just in time for Canada Day too. We heard from this family that you can see the fireworks from the harbor front in a near by park here so plan to give that a try this time instead of busing it down there.
Craigslist has become my new friend. It is my informant for garage sales in the area. I am new to the whole garage sale thing but I am finding it quite a nice way to spend a weekend. It's like a treasure hunt in a land of old people (mostly). The other nice thing about craigslist is that it was the site that I happened upon someone looking for a home for their bunny (Mr. Puck). And I am glad we have the grumpy old man. He is such a cutie. I also think it is better on his health, being with us. I don't think his last owners were giving him his proper nutrients needed. His pooh was always so mushy and smelly. Poor little guy. He is better now though.
We picked out names for the guinea pig sisters. Say hello to Hawk (short for Mohawk)

and Harley (short for Harlequin).

And the rest of the gang. (Minus the snails)

So not only do we now have all the next gen consoles (PS3, XBOX 360, WII, 2 DS & PSP)we also have extended our family recently. It has become quite nice here in my opinion. I have been feeling pretty busy these last few weeks but rather happy. As I get up to do my morning rounds to check on my lovely children, I can't help but smile. This is what I have been wanting all along. I am only truly happy when I am surrounded by floofies.
Mr. Puck has started to open up to me, finally allowing me to pet him without a grunt or jerk while still in his cage, his domain. Little at a time but very noticeable changes recently. Watching him shift his things around really made me notice how smart they really are. I could see it in his eyes, the thought and concentration as he tried to haul his litter box on the ladder trying to get it up the second level of his cage. Than giving in when it refused to go up farther, pushing it back in the corner and plopping down with a "hmph".
Polly is doing well as ever, surveying her kingdom and slaves knowing she rules it all and we humans are at her beck and call. =^_^=
Speedy and Spunky (our 2 Giant African Snails) seem to be good. Lots of sleep and suction action. The little aliens even sleep upside down while stuck on the top of the tank.
Chaos and Little Peril aka The Armageddon Brothers (gerbils) are friendly but hyper as hell. Somewhat like hamsters but on speed.
Last but not least are the 2 baby Guinea Pigs (not yet named). They are maybe 7 weeks old, so very tiny and still scared. And so very cute. It will take some time to get them out of their shells but all worth it in the end.
I am in floofy heaven.
Now off to spend some more time with my babies before playing some MGS4.

quoting trivia
Mar. 28th, 2008 | 09:40 am
A friend was doing it and I do love a good movie quote game. So what the hell.
Rules
1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb.com and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.
1."It won't hurt at first. It's too hot, you see? The flame sears the nerve endings shut, killing them. You'll go into shock...and all you'll feel is...cold. Isn't science fun, Mickey?"
2."Is that squire,
On the fire?"
Chicago 3."He ran into my knife ten times!"
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory 4."But that is called "cannibalism," my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies."
5."Is it true that there's a point on a man's head where if you shoot it, it will blow up?"
6."He's got your moms eyes and my dads nose. I knew we were smart to save those parts."
7."This is supposed to be a happy occasion. Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who."
8."I Didn't Recognize You Without The Handcuffs."
9."He's leaked lubricants all over my foot!"
10."You're not bisexual, Carla — you're omnisexual! You're like that tornado in the Wizard of Oz, sweeping up everything in your path."
11."Anyone else getting that pre-rape feeling?"
12."Trust the toad!"
Monty Python And The Life Of Brian 13."I think it was "Blessed are the cheesemakers"."
Pirates Of The Carribean 14."But why is the rum gone?"
15."'Greater good?' I am your wife! I'm the greatest *good* you are ever gonna get!"

pondering, shopping and near visits

Looks like we are going back to RI for xmas after all. Kat still is in need of her passport due to many blundering mistakes on her part but shit all we can do about it now. Supposedly the border is not enforcing passports for travel by car until later next year so we are going to be crossing our fingers that there will not be any problems as far as that is concerned.
Got almost all of our xmas shopping done. Just need gifts for 3 more people. Of which I am completely stuck on. >_< We got everyone else's gifts in one day, and one mall. ^^ I realized after we got back from our gleeful shopping spree that I really enjoy buying xmas gifts for my loved ones. As soon as we got home I sorted them out, took off prices and wrapped them all up in a single flow whilest humming away.
The trouble is that later that night, after the fun had been had and dried out, I started to panic suddenly, having doubts about all the stuff I had bought with others in mind. What I once thought was a great idea, now seemed dumb. I hope that this is not true and they will enjoy what I give.. I guess this is just my ultra low self-esteem kicking in.
You would think that after all I did to get out here and being on my own with the love of my life that maybe I would have improved my self-esteem a little. But this is not this case. I think my childhood has completely seen to that.
Anyways, I am certainly looking forward to going back and seeing my friends and family again. It has been too damn long. I hope my baby boy still remembers me.. (My dog that I had to leave with my parents.) I will get to see him go nuts in the snow again! ^_^

update on life

We now have a bed. New to us, old crap to someone else out there. It is bouncy and fun. It is good timing really because I needed a break due to my back giving out on my and the immense pain I have been in since. So sleeping on a thin futon mat on the ground was not helping but after sleeping on a real bed for two nights, my back is finally feeling a bit better. So I guess from now on I now have not only knee/leg pains to look forward to but back problems as well. Oh joy!
At least the bed is bouncy.
We have been watching an anime called Death Note as of late. Very addictive in my mind. It is like watching a game of chess only the stakes are a little higher than normal. We have the movie as well but there seems to be a second one so I hope the one we do have is the first one.
Doctors appointment today. I don't wanna go! We are thinking about looking for another one. The current doc is a mega bitch and completely useless.
Oh yea! I shaved my head a week ago. bzzzzz All gone. Just the tiny stubs left. Not bald, militaryish. Wanted to do it at least once in my life. Now my showers really are 5-10 minutes long. Hair makes all the diff with time wasted so it would seem.
One of our hamsters has a cataract in one of her eyes. A bit concerned seeing as they are over a year now. Life expectancy for hamhams is anywhere from 1-3 years average. I am glad to see it does not seem to be effecting her though. They are both just as crazy and active as ever. And friendly. I love it when they climb on my shoulder and just hang out on it while they nibble on their treats so I can hear the tiny munch munches.
Well anyways I should get going I haven't had breakfast yet and Kat is still snoozing.

Guy Love Live
Jul. 13th, 2007 | 05:34 pm
I just finished season 6 of Scrubs and thought I would share part of the musical episode to only stumble on a live version of "Guy Love". Awesome.
Does anyone else think of Clueless when they see Turk or Rosanne when they see Elliot?
