Rather incomplete summary

Haven't really kept up with posting, so I'll just leave a vague trial of thought here in place of actual, coherent, regular posting.

It's been about a week and a half since I stopped taking my medication (to almost nobodies knowledge), and i'm guessing it's still in my system...I mean, i'm still enduring the nasty side effects. I still have to carry Vaseline with me everywhere, and apply moisturiser to everything constantly, and getting horrific mood swings...praying for it all to subside soon.

Lost cashcard, had to cancel it. Very irritated. No money on my person, which is inconvenient seeing as i've also run out of food. Time to start scavenging/asking to borrow money from friends.

Bought my own weight in manga from the local comic store. A favourite Bleach volume, and the 1st volumes of Death Note, D.N Angel, Mu Shi Shi, Gunslinger Girl and Love Hina

People on the whole are upsetting me (not sure if it's the mood swingyness), but i'm beginning to lose hope in ever being able to trust another human being again, at least...properly.

Meh, what a pathetic post. Hope it all picks up soon.

After much musing

i've decided that posting ANYTHING about last night would be silly. The best way to put it, is that up until this point, it was the single best thing to've happened in my life

How To: Receive Post.

Apparently, if anything is to be sent here by recorded delivery, you have to wait a week to receive it, because they keep failing to find the place, then when they do find you, there is a day's delay because they want *you* to sign for it (in a flat), despite the fact that i'm attending lectures in the mornings.

Gah...not good to wake me up 2 and a half hours before i should even be thinking of leaving the house...grrr

Start the Fanfare! I Are Returned!

19 Weeks, christ. That's one loong Haitus. Where've I been? Well, most of that was slaving away in a local plastic factory, trying to scrape together as much money as I could for University. The hours and work and medical side-affects drove me an almost suicidal state of mind.

However, after weeks of that, while keeping up with Bleach, CoH, (not the F1 since it turned into ITV's "The Lewis Hamilton Show") and watching Solid State Society, and Feist in Concert, I am now at Bristol University studying German.

Didn't get either of my choices of accommodation, but it turns out that the student flats 40374 miles away from the ones i applied for, and the particular flat i was placed it, contained the LOVLIEST people i've ever met in my life. All of the other students living there keep remarking on how shocked they are on the speed and strength of our bond. A proper family unit...such a nice thing to come home to.

Also: Our (Mine and Alex's) CoH supergroup now has a website. (might have got the short address wrong, will edit if it epically fails)

Will have more to say soon, just posting something to mark a return to internet-venting

Solomon, Hail and the only way to tell if you're a man

Debated today whether or not to go to a BBQ held by a teacher today. She told us about it on our last lesson. Now, it wasn't the fact that it was a teacher that bothered me...it was that it's the only teacher I've managed to passionately hate over the 2 years she's taught me English Language and Literature. However, seeing as a friend who passes my village on the way to Cambridge offered me a lift, i decided to throw caution to the wind and go (even though said teacher knows i dislike her...should be interesting, I thought)

Lovely journey in the car...first time i've been driven by a friend who was my age and had recently passed their test. Lovely chat, good fun. It did hail right in the centre of town...lots of traffic & poor visibility & angry friend (college weren't very helpful in locating her lost things) made for a rather scary ride...but got through it alive.

Once at Solomon's house, a fellow student opened the door, and asked "would you like to come into Kate's house"...which was one of my favourite sentences of that day, behind my own "I've just been into Kate Solomon's shed".  Friend bought a big box of beer (walking with it for 2 hours, not knowing where her house was), which was a very good choice on his part.

Despite the rain, and the hail, me and 2 other lads got the BBQ going, and did enough burgers for everyone (was amazed at how many people turned up). We felt like real men, providing the meat for the rest of the tribe :p

Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Got me out of the house, and kept me from moping- a hard thing to do in good company :D

Monaco, The price of Vanity, and Technology

Considering all the hype around Lewis Hamilton, he was rather disappointing today...though as Martin Brundell noted, that's more than likely due to the rest of the team on the pitwall telling him to hold his position...having missed his chance to topple Alonso this time around. A rather boring race to be honest...though I feel that's more down to my mood than the race itself. Coulthard didn't impress, and I can't remember any air time at all being dedicated to Sato...Guess they'll continue to hype-rape Hamilton for quite a while longer.

After waiting neigh-on 2 years for this medication, I think I underestimated the degree of irritation these side-effects can cause. The common one is dryness of the skin and lips (hardly surprising, seeing as its main aim is to stop all of the glands from producing anything, so as to put a stop to the "Scarring Acne")...hell, even my eyes are dry...this is horrid. I'd rather not speak so as to prevent my face cracking...which is quite a high price for me...ah well, 16 weeks time and i'll be able to look at myself in the mirror without wretching.

Also, hopefully rather soon i'll have my hands on a new graphics card that actually fits on my stupid motherboard...i had to buy it directly from the company that supplied me my pc, because most mainstream Graphics cards don't have the adaptors supported by my motherboard....so i'm having to wait EVEN longer, just so that i can kill these weeks of revision-devoid procrastination with Elder Scrolls IV.

Also, according to the Internet:

The Left Hemisphere of your brain is dominant over the Right!

Left-brained

Most left-brained people like you feel at ease in situations requiring verbal ability, attention to detail, and linear, analytical ability. Whether you know it or not, you are a much stronger written communicator than many, able to get your ideas across better than others.

It's also likely that you are methodical and efficient at many things that you do. You could also be good at math, particularly algebra, which is based on very strict rules that make sense to your logical mind.

I'd guess that's rather accurate, but, like palm reading, they just make vague statements that we adapt ourselves to, desperate to feel some degree of conformity or outwordly clairvoyance to guide us.

Album Spotlight

Album: Orchestra of Bubbles
Artists: Apparta & Ellen Allien

Thoughts: Basically, take this album :, and multiply the "Gosh...erm...wow" factor by about 10. Every track is its own little masterpiece. I've been a bit techno/electronica lacking recently...this more than fills the void

DS online gaming

I can play online games on the PC, and providing i'm at least halfway decent at them, i can have fun (I.e UT2004)

however, on the DS, i get continuously raped....both on Pokémon Diamon (everyone hacks), and Mario Kart...where i've been too out of practice...

Perhaps i just cannnot stand to be defeated.

Here's to hoping SSBB will be online play :D At least i could be a contender for "best in uk" for that :p

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Finally Pre-Ordered my copy, and I noticed that the official website has been updated. Sadly no new characters revealed, but upon seeing the official list of musicians/composers on board, I think the speculation can begin.

My thinking is, that they've brought on people from the music teams who worked on the original game, to help bring authenticity to the music on the battle stages and character themes. At least, that's what they did in the last 2 incarnations.

Yoko Shimomura: one of the brains behind the music to Kingdom Hearts...but that can't mean there'll be a Sora, can there? (GBA spin-off, so it's at least possible, and after SOLID SNAKE being revealed, based on the GC remake, anything can be considered) If there is I will be most gleeful :D

2 guys from Grasshopper!....I am VERY, VERY hopeful for an appearance from a KILLER7 character...that would litterally have me fit with glee.

Album Spotlight

Album: Underwater Cinematographer
Artist: The Most Serene Republic
Label: Arts & Crafts

Best Track: Where Cedar Nouns and Adverbs Walk

If you were to take the pop elements of Stars, and merge that with the upbeat aspects of Broken Social Scene, you get something like this. However, it's often cited as being another BSS clone (especially as it's on the same Label), but that's merely personal choice- you'll be more confident you'll like an album, if it shares similarities with a band you know. The album is a very good playthrough as a whole, and doesn't have many weak tracks. I'll be looking out for them in the future (they've got an EP out, but being in the UK, no-one will stock it, and it's not on iTunes :( )
