i'm studying real estate. for like a month now. and i just enrolled in two more classes for fall semester. a bit boring, yes. but i think i'll be damn good at it.

i dislike where i am living. krazy kat lady roommies are getting old. fast.

i dislike my current job. my boss is a woman who hates women.

my trip to la was kind of a waste of time/money. i enjoyed seeing the few friends that i did, but my ride down and back was the worst time of my life. i went with a coworker guy who was cool in my book until 30 mins into the trip. my first question was "so are we gonna listen to country music the whoooollle time?" and then it snowballed from there. meh....too much to explain, nit worth reliving. sorry if i didn't get to see you during this trip.

4th of july was fog-tastic and therefore.........no fireworks to be seen, although we were at the vantage point for the works over the bay bridge and golden gate bridge. sigh.

i'm doing well, despite the fact that it seems like i'm bitching about life. i'm just discontent.

i've been M.I.A. for 2 weeks.


lots of newness.


-the parents were in town. 'twas actually pretty nice to hang out with them. i finally gave them their xmas presents. my dad's film was in a festival up here. i was surprisingly impressed.


-i quit my job. abruptly. unexpectedly. probably pretty dramatically.

the weight on my shoulders instantly disappeared. confidence led to elation which led to fear/ self doubt which led to introspection which has led to renewed esteem.

ultimately i could have stuck it out, but i had a moment...and that was it. DONE.
the pretty BS part of the whole situation is that my boss said "No, Melissa. We'd like you to stay. Think about it over night."
Then the following day when I came in, they had my checks ready and pretty much that was the end.

-did i mention i quit without a job waiting for me?
i have been on about 10 interviews.
the job i suuuuuuuuuuuper wanted i didn't get.....
the last resort starbucks job called me within 3 hours of my interview to invite me "onboard."
today is the followup interview for my 2nd-ish choice...
tomorrow is the interview for management just a few stores away from my old job.
i have been offered a FT position at a place i like but can't get to conveniently.
ohhhhhhh the decisions.

if only i got paid for interviewing.


-the boyf went on vacation to seattle and returned. he moved into a new place....no longer at the place where we were living in sin. no more hour+ muni rides to the sunset.

-i've become a tv junkie. ridiculous. how many times can i watch top chef....really? i went from staticky channels 2-12 to having DVR/on demand...way too many options.

-i've started cooking. kinda.


-i'm trying to be more active. walking and such. my roommie is on nutrisystem and its pretty inspiring.

i watched that show "quarterlife" last night. i don't know if i like it. i know i don't, but i will likely give it another try.
