So, if one is more familiar with theater than comics, can we translate it to "Talk Like David Mamet" day and not lose anything in the translation?

Yeah - Bendis has certainly mentioned Mamet as a significant influence, which as you point out is pretty apparent.

Don't forget to have lots of parentheticals that run longer than the original sentence (because, you know, Bendis liks to add "asides" that are actually the main point of a character's dialogue).

Thats awesome. I've never heard of the guy (shame), but we (that is, you) should promote this thing like hell. Because Pirate Day was just the beginning. I look forward to a future in which every day is "Talk Like (a) _______ Day."
