The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was arrogant, acting like the dictator of your life.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.

Oh man! I love this new journal layout. So fancy-pants.

How many of you actually go look at other people's journals?

I personally just check my friends list. Every once in a while I will cruise over to a friend's page to check it out, but not often. I guess the page layout is only for personal enjoyment.

Haven't updated in a while. Things are pretty much the same here. Really wanted to have some sort of phenominal post...hmm...

Things are really taking off with the theatre company. We just finished up our first show. It's really cool to be a part of something like this. This company if going to be big and I will be able to say I was there when it began. We start touring in November. Sweet! They hope to have the company on an international touring schedule in the next 3 to 5 years.

In other news, I am having strange and random sicky feelings. My stomach hurt for days and then it just went away. Now today my head feels all funny. Not really a headache, but that pain behind your eyes when you don't get enough sleep. I should go to bed early tonight. Rest up so I can be in tip top shape for my visit to Orlando!

In an attempt to increase my knowledge of the people on my friends list, here's a MEME for you:

1. What do you think will become of our generation?
2. If you could fix a past relationship of any kind that ended badly, would you? Which one?
3. Who is your best friend?
4. What life goals have you accomplished?
5. When you first meet someone, do you
a) assume they want something from you
b) wonder what they're like in bed
c) assume that he/she is a good person and you could be friends
or
d) exchange general pleasantries and resume your current activities

My Answers:

1. I think our generation moved in two directions. Half of us became hippies trying to relive the days of Woodstock, and the other half looked at those guys and said "Holy shit! I don't want to end up on the corner of an intersection with a cardboard sign and smelling like dirty ass! I better get my shit in gear and get a job!"
2. It didn't so much end badly, it just sort of ended. We were friends for years and years and then after high school the friendship just slowly flickered out. Sorry Jen Heinze, someday we'll speak again!
3. David Solito. Duh.
4. Well, that's an interesting question because my life goals have changed recently. I think my goals were a little unrealistic before and now I'm getting on the right track.
5. C

Oh yeah, did I mention I'm coming to Orlando? :)

Here's another MEME that will probably take me forever to respond to...
1) Reply with your name and I'll respond with something random about you.
2) I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3) I'll pick a flavor/color of jello to wrestle with you in. (Maybe.)
4) I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5) I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6) I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7) I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8) If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST. It is written!

I am still getting used to it here. I am slowly making friends and entertainment work is finally coming together. I quit the animal hospital because it was basically glorified dogsitting. I am working for Landmark Galleries as an art dealer and I have a role with the LiveWire Theatre Company. This could work.

Honestly, I'm just working toward getting back. However, I am not going to sulk the whole time I am here. I have to be here, so I'm going to have a good time. Monday night has become the official karaoke night for Liz and myself. Thursday we are going to Bogart's. It's a swanky 40's style bar downtown. Ladies are free on Thursday and martinis are half off. Sweet!

Also, I have to get something out in the open. I have had many conversations with many people about this.

Why are the people of our generation so negative about marriage? Also, why is it considered to be "not that big a deal"? Marriage is not just a commitment, but a promise to someone you love. A promise that no matter what happens or how crazy life gets, you will be there for each other. It's knowing that no one has ever held your heart the way that person does and no one ever will again. It's knowing that this person makes your life better on every level and a life without them just couldn't hold the same value.

Has society written off true love? Why doesn't anyone believe that two people can be living totally for each other? Have people just become callous? Or is it that society has lost that basic moral fiber that views marriage as a bond and not an assignment? Some say that our parents made us this way. They say that because we grew up with broken families, it is easier for us to justify divorce. That's crap! I think that if you grew up in a broken home you should be more committed to the idea of a greater love.

And I just can't understand why people/society perpetuate this stigma that marriage is the end of your individual growth. Marriage is a promise to grow together and to help each other through the times when change is difficult to understand. What happened to people marrying for love and not necessity? Or better yet, what happened to the idea of falling in love? I think the word love has simply been overused. When I hear middle school age kids tell their "boyfriends/girlfriends" that they "love" them, I just want to say, do you know what that means? Has anyone explained it to you? When did love replace like? People are in such a hurry to fall in love that they haven't taken the time to figure out what it means or if it is what they're really feeling. I know lots of people that have misused the L word, myself included. This is something we learned from our parents.

I've been looking through old journal entries lately and I find it so amusing and interesting. I found this one on Davd's journal and it took me a good five minutes to figure out what the hell it was about. I remember that is one of the few times I saw Davd so mad that I actually thought he was going to fight someone. Oh goodness, I'm glad we can look back on things and laugh.

I've been saying it for a week, but tonight I am DEFINATELY going to do karaoke. If anything I have to at least go out to a bar or something. I've got to make some friends here man!!

Felt super sick last night, but woke up feeling fine. Hm.

Also, had very strange dreams last night. I had my hair in little pig tails and I was wearing a sweatband around my head. This girl and I were fighting in the middle of the street just as a nascar race was about to start. I messed her up and then headed into a bar for a beer and she was there bartending. She tried to intimidate me and I gave her a few choice words. There were some stairs inside the bar that looked like they led to a fire escape and it seemed like a good place to get some peace and quiet. Once I got up there I saw that the whole place was surrounded by hungry liches! I headed back downstairs and told my enemy that some guy was asking about her upstairs. After she went up I could hear her blood-curdling screams and walked happily out of the bar, cold one in hand.

Then somehow I ended up in what I was told was Egypt but the landscape was far from it. I was in a beautiful little forest and tucked away behind all the brightly colored flowers and plants, were little houses. They were made of plastic and were so cute! I wandered around there for a little while until someone came running up to me telling me that if I wanted to make my flight I had better go now. They handed me a plane ticket and I hopped into the car. I was dropped off at the airport in the middle of the night and had to sneak in for some reason. But once I finally got back to the U.S., everyone was there waiting for me with fun little signs and such.
