4:34 pm	This Saturday - 04/08 Following on from my previous two posts, for those that kinda live near me - The two bands that are playing for us in Whitby are actually also playing at The Bitter End in Romford this Saturday. So, if you fancy a good night out, doors open at 7.30pm and it's absolutely free to get in! There will at least be Deviant and Novus playing (see my previous post for myspace details), maybe more. 4:34 pm	Exciting things + First Band Announced In a change to previous years, as well as our every popular Friday night at Laughtons ('til 4am!), The Alternative will now be a 2 floor experience every night at The Resolution. That's upstairs in our normal room and now downstairs in the Cellar bar too. 2 dance floors + 3 DJs = more music than you could shake a stick at. 7pm - 2am. All for £5 entry per night. Also, on the middle floor every night, a band, for the grand entry fee of zip/zilch/nada. Yep, completely free. And so..... We're very happy to announce our first band, for the Saturday night - DEVIANT UK. After the fabulous job they did for us two years ago, how could we resist?! More Coming Soon.... 8:13 pm	It's the final countdown...... Well, it's (nearly) that time again! We finally have our late licenses sorted (skin of teeth anyone?). Fri at the Res is until 1am, with over half off admission if you go on to Laughtons afterwards and party 'til 4am. That means you could have 9hrs of fun for a fiver. Bargain!! ;-) Sat and Sun at the Res is until 2am each night! To help with the partying, there will be various drinks promos on too. At Laughtons it's "selected bottles £2 b4 midnight" and at the Res it's £1 a shot of black sambucca or vodka, house doubles are £2.30 and several others I forgot to write down. 11:05 am	Whitby - The aftermath Woo Hoo, how good am I? An update after only a week. I think we'll ignore the fact that I haven't done the November update. What's one missed update between friends, but I have changed the info to November 2006, surely that has to count in my favour? ;-) What can I say? Yet another fantastic weekend. Friday built on last years success and was a storming start to the weekend. Thanks to Ivana, Dave and Lisa (for last minute salvation). And, of course, Geordi. Who else is mad enough to be there til the bitter end, drive 300+ miles home then fly out to America in the space of 24hrs! Was also nice to see people there I really didn't expect to see. Saturday I would have to count as my favourite night. The atmosphere was amazing and the music fantastic (even from my little table outside). Thanks to all the people who came to talk to me (and offer to buy me drinks), my own private party ;-) Thanks to Simon, Rob (another last minute inclusion) and not forgetting Kevin & Andy as always. You guys are the best! Sunday was more relaxed but still a brilliant night. For me it was a wind down after the previous two nights. Thanks again to Kevin, Ivana & Andy and also to Gary for DJing (Jo, as you seem so interested - Yes he did DJ for me, No it is still not his event) and for my own personal playlist at the end. Thanks for all the lovely comments, they're much appreciated, but equally if you have opinions on things I could improve, they are also welcome. 12:02 pm	October Whitby 2005 Welcome. Even though this LJ has been up for nearly a year, until now it has really only been an info frontpage for the event. After the fabulous time we had at the April Alternative Weekend we seem to have attracted some fans. As the whole point of the event is to play the songs/music that people want to hear, I thought I had better make it more interactive. Obviously if you had a good time let me know, but if you didn't I would still love to hear. If you think there is something wrong with the night I can't do anything about it if I am not aware of the problem. Unlike other events LJs I will NOT be deleting any threads just because I don't happen to agree with them.
