I posted an entry ages ago similar to this one, and received a pretty good response, so I thought it was time (now that tastes have changed only slightly) to repost it.

I love the idea of the ever-expanding music library, so I'm always on the look out for new bands & artists to help fill up my iPod. I'm asking you, my lovely friends list, to recommend some bands or artists for me to check out. I don't care how famous they are, how old they are, and so on, I just want to know!

I'm trying not to be a genre-snob, but the only genre I really can't respect is this Emo/Screamo stuff. Anything else is pretty much fair play.

In particular, I'd love to see some Metal, Rock, Classic Rock (Hint hint, zakkonedge), as well as softer genres like Jazz & Classical. But really, I'll accept 99.9% of suggestions.

For an extra idea of what I'm already listening to, I've posted a list of artists already in my library. That doesn't mean you shouldn't recommend a song by that artist, because most artists I have an incomplete library for. This isn't every single band in my library, but artists I'd more than likely continue to purchase again, or I enjoy their type of music.
