You’re stuck inside Fahrenheit 451. Which book do you want to be?

One of the Moomin books. Either Taikatalvi (Moominland Midwinter) or Muumipapan urotyöt (The Exploits of Moominpapa), my favorites when I was a child. I still enjoy them, and I’d be passing the great experience on to future generations, ensuring they’d want to become a book some day too.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?

Not that I can remember. Well, maybe Storm (of the X-Men) when I was quite young…

The last book you finished is?

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke.

What are you currently reading?

Nimbus ja tähdet by Tero Niemi & Anne Salminen,
Taistolaisuuden musta kirja by Ilkka Kylävaara (ed.),
Taikurin hattu by Tove Jansson (if you also count books that I’m reading to someone else)

Five books you would take to a deserted island?

Not resorting to the obvious “How to get out of a deserted island?” types of books, and not being a munchkin and trying to pass a series of books as one book, something that would endure reading and re-reading for time and again.
The Lord of the Rings (yes, it is one book and not really a trilogy),
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (for when I’m certain things couldn’t be any worse),
The Essential Ellison (great stories – and lots of them),
and probably a big dictionary and an encyclopedia (to keep the mind occupied)

Juri, Hannu, and Taka. They've blogged about interesting books and I want to see their answers. BTW, Taka also makes my favorite tool for reading blogs, Awasu.
