Tutorial 07: Installing brushes in PSP7
Tutorial: How to install brushes in Paint Shop Pro 7.

Note:  Make sure you download the set specified for PSP.  It's normally labeled either 'image pack' or 'jpeg stamps' or something along those lines.

After you've downloaded the image pack and unzipped the file, open up Paint Shop Pro 7. Go to File > Open to open the images, OR go to File > Browse to view them all and open them from there. (If you want to open them all at once, click the first one, then hold 'Shift' and click the last one. This will select all the files. If you have other files in between the brushes that you do not want to open, click one, then hold 'Control' and click the rest individually.)

Once you've got the brush file open, press Ctrl+A to select the entire image.

Then select the Paint Brush from the Tools toolbar.

In the Tool Options window, click on the box that says Brush Types(To open the window, go to View > Toolbars, and check the Tool Options Palette.)

Click Custom...

Click Create.

Click the down arrow on the brush to see the menu.  It should now be loaded there.

The brush is now installed. You can choose it from the menu to start using it.

If you make and post brushes, feel free to link to this tutorial.

I looked through your memories and was pleased to find a tutorial like this, I've been trying to find one that I can understand for ages. But, whenever I do what it says, I get a message saying:

"The following error has occured while accessing the following brushes:
Access to C:/Program Files/Jasc Software Inc/Paint Shop Pro 7/Brushes/UBrush.jbr was denied."

Can you make any sense out of that? ^^;; I use to be able to do this a long time ago, then it just, sorta, stopped and now whenever I try it has that message again. And I know I'm doing it right since I did it like a bazillion times in a row. Think you can help me out here? ^^; Sorry for any inconvience

Great tutorial, I knew how to create brushes...but I have one problem:

What if it says the brush is too big? I've done it, but it kept saying that the brush is too big to create. I use PSP7. Thanks in advance!
