I'm about two weeks away from having a mostly complete Washer Book first draft. That'll put me a little over my August 1st goal, but not by much.
When finished, I'll work on The Walri Project antho for Afterbirth. They want it to be their next release. Then, when finished with Walri -- shouldn't take long -- I'll start another book.
Well, that's all for now. Gotta go ... (Well, I really don't have to go; I'm just leaving.)

Unless you like Bretty wines, you'd best avoid this one. It tastes like they threw an old saddle into the wine press.

Luckily, I had left a towel from some yard work outside to put over the sill when I was climbing in, so only one real cut on my hand which already stopped bleeding. Found spare truck key. Happened to have scrap of plywood just bigger than window frame, so the window has been secured (would have been easier and faster had I not packed my tools).
Now I am determined to go have a good time and relax. dammit.

You know that feeling you get when you are all packed up and ready to go and you realize as the car door is latching that your keys are on the INSIDE and the door is locked? Yeah, so do I. So, while attempting to break into my house to get the spare truck key, I break a window. So, I'll be securing that up before I co and picking the glass shards out of my arm and hand. It's going to be a GREAT vacation!

Migraine is nearly gone. Still being a pain though. Doors locked, AC on , windows shut and kitty cuddled. One stop to get ice and then I am on my way.
Taking my time today was a good thing. I even took an extra hour to figure out how to use my photo keychain and upload photos of all my favorite kids - Emma, Christopher, Lily, Kyle, Patrick, Whit, Jenna, Audrey, and of course Molli and Keri :) Love you all to pieces pixels!

Hey look! I'm on the internets! Last weekend we went to Nashville to go see Z's grandparents, and we hung out with neo_prodigy while we were there. We caught Batman The Dark Knight, and then wandered through McKay's and snagged some used books. As I predicted, Z and Denny were two nerds of a feather, and got along fabulously. And I had fun too, even if I was a little bit lost half the time as to what they were talking about. Z reported that Denny could be a part of his crew.
Friday night we stopped by Marc's house in Cookeville, and I got the chance to rock out to Rock Band. I actually wasn't as bad at it as I had feared on bass guitar (similarity to DDR?), and kicked butt when I tried singing. Living room karaoke, I pwn you. I also got a chance to steal very many entertaining things from Marc's hard drive, including some anime and tv shows I needed to catch up on.
I have some more fisheye pics from last weekend, if I can be bothered to upload the disc this afternoon. It's a Friday and therefore extremely slow at work, I should have time.

I live in the Raleigh area - anyone know of a good place to buy a mattress? Anyone have any tips to keep in mind? What route did you take? The cheaper the better of course, but I understand that a mattress is an investment. I'm a single gal on a budget.
Lend me your ears!

Mostly for Judy and Courtney, if she still reads, but the rest of you may laugh as well: You can't make this stuff up.
Cool stuff has been happening. Expensive stuff, sadly, but cool. More later.

| Subject: | Why Lair rocks... |

For those who played Rogue Squadron on N64...you know what to expect. In fact, the first two levels are quite similar...only instead of stopping Tie Bombers over Mos Eisley in the first mission or protecting Rebel transports on Barkesh in the second...your stopping Mokai from wrecking the Asylian capital in the first...and...protecting...transports in the second.
But, it still works, because, it's Factor 5, makers of Rogue Squadron, doing the Lair thing. They invented the formula they're rehashing, so it's cool.
So, you've got air combat...you've got ground combat and bombing runs...but what makes this really different from Rogue Squadron or other flying games?
You're riding a dragon...yeah.
Nothing is quite as satisfying as landing your dragon and going buck wild through a few legions of infantry. Yeah, you guys rush in at the big fire-breathing lizard...how's that workin' for ya?
And nothing is quite as funny as watching a manta (a big, flying, ray-like dragon thingy) explode. Yes, I get that it's carrying bombs...but, when it goes boom and sends dragon bits everywhere...the result isn't so much dramatic as funny as heck!
Yeah, Lair rocks...

My wife and I were talking last night during dinner about who would make a good villain in the next Bat-flick. It's awesome when you have a wife who can discuss the nuances of comic book supervillainy. Again, awesome wife. Where was I?
Oh, yes, as I was saying, we tossed about various characters and the numerous casting choices for the roles, and then it hit me, why not make an entirely NEW villain?!
Behold: Robbie from Accounting!
You see, Robbie from Accounting could be the next big villain! His supervillain power...he's unusually good at math!
I know what you're thinking...lame supervillain power. But, Gizmo Duck, mind you, as in Fenton Crackshell, had the mad math skills. I understand, he was a hero, but one could use one's math for evil just as easily as for good. And, how do we know that Robbie isn't wearing a home-made robotic duck suit under his short-sleeved white shirt and black tie?
Or, Crossword! Like the Riddler, only uses crosswords to hint at future crimes instead of riddles. "Number 7 down...24 letters, 'How will I wash the wicked from Gotham?'...BlowupGothamCityRservoir!!!"
Or, going the sci-fi route, Gerty: The Morbidly Obese Woman That Rides the Motorized Shopping Cart at Wal-Mart. Fused to a motorized shopping cart at Wal-Mart during a lightning storm...(if this were Marvel, it would be cosmic rays, but as it's DC, lightning storm works) and she's doomed to drive around the narrow aisles running into you and looking at you like it's your fault at Gotham's branch of the popular value SuperCenter!!!
I would go into casting ideas for existing villains we discussed, but I already did that over on another blog. It's getting vexing how I'm discussing things or thinking things immediately after someone else does. I need to read my friends list more often so that I know what's already being thought...and think about something else.

Twitter has had some sort of schizo attack and it dumped half of my friends list. I was able to reclaim some of you but not all, so, if I'm missing you, just make me your bitch.
Plus, I'm also currently stalking future husband #1, Henry Rollins.
Anyone else I should be following?
