TEA 17.6.3 is out - http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=153457t. With this release, GTK-branch of TEA has a new name: teagtk. So, to run "old fashioned", GTK-based TEA, use "teagtk" command instead of "tea". Package maintainers (except for Debian), please note that installation dir was changed to "teagtk" too. All that things was done to give the ability to run GTK-based TEA and a new Qt-based one simultaneously (both branches shares the same configs).

    NEWS ABOUT TEA
    TEA 17.6.0, 8 March 2008
    http://tea-editor.sourceforge.net

Meet a lot of fixed. Hooraaay! I know that web-coders will be happy with a new function. Look at Markup - HTML Tools - Check for broken links. As it checks the remote files (via http), you need to install libcurl first. No libcurl - no "Check for broken links". So the libcurl is a non-mandatory dependency. Stay tuned.

    NEWS ABOUT TEA
    TEA 17.5.0, 30 December 2007
    http://tea-editor.sourceforge.net

So, now we have some UI improvements and inner changes. Frankenstein's monster says: "Good!". Yes, it can be good, but can be a little buggy, so test it. The Famous text entry has autocompletion again. Good. Encoding chooser now works more intuitive. Good. A file filter in the File open dialog now remembers a last used filter. Good. And a total code cleanup!

    An advertisment ;)
Our indie rock/psytrance/electronica band Kostny Mozg (where I'm a guitarist and one of singers) released a new album. It's available as a public domain at http://blue.jamendo.com/en/artist/Kostny_Mozg/

    http://tea-editor.sourceforge.net

Hi. This release has no significant new features, just updates and bugfixes. Czech translation is updated by Zbyněk Mrkvička. Many list scrolling bugs were fixed. Mispelled words have a new, fancy underline. At "Preferences - Functions - Date format for Save version" you can define a timestamp format for "Save version". Default is "%Y-%m-%d-%T" (yes, the month after the year). Some imageviewer improvements.

This release has no new features, just a lot of bugfixes and code cleanup. It would be fine to update your TEA, because I found many errors (see the ChangeLog). And another news - the French po is updated (by Sylvain Cresto).

    NEWS ABOUT TEA
    TEA 17.2.4, 18 September 2007
    http://tea-editor.sourceforge.net

This release uses GtkSourceView 2 as a default engine. the "configure" script searches for GtkSourceView 2 fisrt, and, if no GtkSourceView 2 found, it tries to find GtkSourceView 1. You can still use --enable-legacy for disable any GtkSourceView at all.

By the way, our indie rock/psytrance/electronica band Kostny Mozg (where I'm a guitarist and one of singers) released a new album. It's available as a public domain at our site: http://kmozg.by.ru/index.en.html

Now you able to choose the syntax highlighting color scheme (Kate, Classic, Tango) at the Preferences - Highlighting page. Other changes are: some inner changes in the built-in image viewer, code cleanup, and a new function (Functions - Numbers - Roman to Arabian). Stay tuned.

    NEWS ABOUT TEA
    TEA 17.2.0, 23 August 2007
    http://tea-editor.sourceforge.net

Hi. This release has an optional support of GtkSourceView2. To configure TEA with GtkSourceView2, use:
    ./configure --enable-GtkSourceView2
This mode can be unstable, but I'm already use it as well. It would be great if you test it too and tell me, how it is going. Please note that the default TEA compilation mode is still related to GtkSourceView 1.x. See the README for details.

    NEWS ABOUT TEA
    TEA 17.1.0, 26 July 2007
    http://tea-editor.sourceforge.net

Hi! The French translation was updated, and Mass Encode tool is redesigned. And that's not all! "Functions - End of line" submenu has a new stuff because TEA now support MAC line endings. Test it because I've test it a few.
At the Search menu has a new command - Run grep. You can open results with TEA, double click on them at the Logmemo.
Now TEA uses zziplib instead of libzip. Sure, the zziplib dependency is optional. This library is needed for opening ZIP and ODT files. If TEA was built without zziplib, TEA uses the external gunzip for the similar purposes.
The "Save zipped" menu item was renamed to "Save packed". With it, you can quickky pack the current document with any external archiever. To redefine the command line for that, see Preferences - Interface - A command for Save packed.
