Undone by Earwax
Draco and Narcissa talk about the nature of hatred.

Black Blood by sadge
Poor unsuspecting Andromeda was just enjoying her morning tea when the paper arrived, bringing with it many unresolved memories of Sirius Black. And that's just the beginning. She can't seem to escape him or that miserable family.

Intrepid by elizabethroz
Regulus is being stalked. Narcissa's being blackmailed. Through a chain of anonymous letters, there comes a choice with consequences more severe than anyone could anticipate.

Blood Brothers by Zetta
We, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew, listed in order of age, do hereby swear and vow that from this day forth we shall always be friends."

Fish to Fry by Feana Puddlefoot
The Marauders talk about such taxing topics as destiny, and girls.

The Power of Names by Ninjette
MWPP: A shopping trip in Knockturn Alley leads Wormtail to consider the possibilities of power.

A story that will probably be added to my must reads - just as soon as I stop being lazy and actually write a real review of it.

Marauders on the Internet by Werewolf-At-Hogwarts
Due to a mysterious bug in Sirius's new computer, the Maruders and Lily have found themselves trapped in Cyberspace! How will they escape this terrible dilema! (bad summary, I know, but go read it anyway!)
I second the author's "go read it anyway" and up it with a "right now! right now!" Because you should all go read this right now. It's one of the better parodies out there. A lot of mockery without going overboard. The characters have personality. The author can write engaging and humorous fiction. The only reason this isn't on my Must Reads Page is that it's only one chapter long so far. ... Well? Why haven't you clicked

Padfoot Prohibited by Liveley
Well the full title is Padfoot Prohibited: A list of things Sirius Black is no longer allowed to do or say at Hogwarts. The 7th years are given an assignment before they graduate - to compose a letter telling incoming 1st years how to best succeed in sch
While there are a few technical errors, the story itself is quite engaging. Based on the infamous Skippy list.

To Whom It May Concern by Princess MacEaver
An owl post from James to... well, to whom it may concern... regarding the unfortunate result of a series of pranks. Revenge is sweet.
Cute, short one-shot.

Tonks Apr. 18th, 2004 @ 03:21 pm
Skepticisms in Grey by Lainiekins
What if Narcissa disappeared at the end of Draco’s fifth year? With Lucius in Azkaban, who is the nearest family relative for Draco to stay with for the summer?

Interaction between Tonks and Draco. The world needs more of that. Especially when it's written like Lainiekins writes it. Unfortunately, she updates very slowly. Hey - maybe some more reviews will get her to write faster.

Reflections by Anne-Cara Apple
We sat in uncomfortable silence in the kitchen while water for tea boiled on the stove, each of us distinctly missing my cousin. Finally, Remus said, “You look like him. I never realized that before.”

Not Remus/Tonks, but Remus and Tonks talking. It's one of the best "Sirius died; let's reflect" stories I've come across. Considering how many there are out there, that's saying a lot.

A Fine Lack of Subtly by Kavi
A Tonks/Snape ficlet in which Tonks is frank, Bill is amused, and Snape has a really nice arse.

Tonks and Snape are very in-character, yet Kavi still managed to make the potential of the pairing work. I was quite impressed.

Curse of the White Sword by Jocelyn
Will and Elizabeth's wedding plans are thrown off by a new curse on the Caribbean.

An adventure story with a full cast of characters that I enjoy reading about - even the OCs.

Chasing the Sun by partheon
Two years after Jack Sparrow sailed away, life is going perfect for Elizabeth and Will--until a series of events destroys their dreams. Will is caught up in a dangerous web of deceit and murder as he fights to reclaim his birthright.

Another in-progress action/adventure story that managed to hook me immediately. It's very plot driven, but looking to turn into a very good story.

Firecracker by the_dala
The night before Will and Elizabeth's wedding.

This is how I like my romance stories. Fluffy at times, more serious at times, and a scenario I could see happening in real life to a real couple.

Common Ground by Mess
In which young Severus Snape and Bellatrix Black strike up a friendship, over tea and torture.

The author remarks that she's surprised not many others have picked up on the potential of the Severus/Bellatrix (friendship) relationship. Based on how well she pulled this off, I'm not surprised. There's a lot of unmined ground for stories with them.

Ouroboros by rain and leaves
Bellatrix dreams.

There's definitely a dreamy quality to this fic. As in, it mimics the way a real dream might play out, yet remains remarkably coherent at the same time.

Bittersweet by cyanide blue
Sweet, bitter, bittersweet. Your life can change in an instant--from sweet to bitter to bittersweet. No one knows this better than Narcissa Black, who has lost the only person she ever loved. Even chocolate tastes bitter, now. (Warning: Femmeslash incest,

As you can see, it's Narcissa/Bellatrix, from Narcissa's POV. It's not my normal ship, but I still really liked it.
» Lily
summertime by B1otts
Lily kisses Sirius, and Sirius kisses her back, and for awhile they're able to forget that she's supposed to be a good girl and better girlfriend, and he's supposed to like boys, not girls.

Lily/Sirius, but very enjoyable nonetheless.

By Any Other Name
by Didodikali
Introducing QuidditchJock!Lily. No, really, I'm not kidding. And guess what sport Severus plays? Nope, guess again. Illustrated! Fanart!

Lily/Severus - one of the very, very few I have ever enjoyed. The plus is, it's illustrated! Very cutely done, the way the story is intersperced with pictures.

The Conforming of Lily Evans to TTFF by Sohara von Salienta
TTFF stands for 'true to fanfiction'. The Writer is trying to conform Lily, who is heroically resisting. TTFF to the end!

A humour/parody, but one that will (probably) ultimately lead to James/Lily, despite Lily's reluctance on the matter. In the meantime, it's a fun read.

James Potter and the Divination Course by Kay Willow
A silly fic about James Potter's first day of Divination. ^_^

A really old fic, written before I even started writing HP. So it's even pre-GoF. But it's a funny little thing that shouldn't be forgotten.

I Solemnly Swear I'm Up to No Good by BloodRoze
A cheeky Witch Weekly contest, a hundred Galleons worth of prize money and MWPP at their best. Or possibly at their worst. The lads have four months to acquaint themselves with the finer points of, er...broomstick handling, and live to write the tale.

A pre-OotP story, but not complete. The first five chapters are up so far. A few minor errors, but good characterization and a couple of REALLY good lines.

The Boys of the Old Brigade by Crunch
May heaven keep the men who sleep from the ranks of the old brigade. . ." In which James Potter sees his greatest joy and his darkest hour

AMAZING! Go read it now. (See what else I have to save about it at Must Reads)
» Sirius
The Witching Hour by Starlyte

Part of the "Three Things that Never Happened" FAP challenge. Three choices that Sirius makes that would have changed the course of history.

The Fall by S. Thanatos

Very, very short. Kind of pointless. But priceless.

Shards of Fragmented Despair by Polkat

A nice SiriusIsStartingToGoInsaneAt12GrimmauldPlace fic. Unfinished, but hopefully not forever.
Trapped in the family home he thought he'd left behind forever Sirius finds the line between past and the present, father and son blurring; finds that Azkaban broke him after all.

Selfinsertion O'Bugger-Subtlety and the Philosopher's Stone by Night Mistress
The true story of the Philosopher's Stone. Follow Selfinsertion O'Bugger-Subtlety in his attempts to wreck havok on the English b#$%#@s who rule his homeland. Involves shot owls, terrorists!Hufflepuffs and explosions. Lots of explosions.
All right. How can you not read a story where the main character's name is Selfinsertion O'Bugger-Subtletly? And that's the least funny part of the entire story.

Quid Quid Latine Dictum Sit: Anything Said in Latin by Elucreh
The armorer wants to know what to put on the coat of arms, and Godric and Salazar have left it to the girls to decide what Hogwart's motto will be. Helga and Rowena joke while they try to find something, "Profound, practical, and historical..." Fun
Quite funny and not very long. So none of you should have an excuse for not reading it.

You did it with my mom! by Queen2
Draco Malfoy has a difficult family life. The poor, poor boy.
