"No, you don't understand! I never felt ~LOVED~ before this guy beat me half to death!"
I'm watching Last Friends right now. You know, I've been thinking that I should be into the J-drama thing for awhile, but nothing I've watched has ever been able to hold my attention for more than two episodes. First there was 1 Liter of Tears, which resulted in feeling dead inside after every episode I watched, and then after that was Liar Game, which was so fucking ridiculous that even Nakata's amazing work on the score couldn't keep me interested. Anyway, I'm halfway through episode three, so... looking good?!

Nagasawa Masami really is pretty, isn't she? I didn't get all the fuss about her, but she looks a lot like Ute Manami to me, so maybe that's why I'm partial to her. XD Ugh, Ueno Juri is heartbreaking as Ruka... On that note, there is no way that Ruka and Michiru are not direct references to, you know... HARUKA AND MICHIRU. I know it's been said that "it was just about the way the names sounded!", but honestly, that's bullshit.

I've read all the important spoilers already, so I know how it's going to end up, but it's really fulfilling to see it all play out. Good show! Maybe this'll lead to me watching more of them in the future.

edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that Sayu supposedly has a new PB coming out soon! EXCITED ♥

I have nothing better to do than post adorable pictures and squee over them.
Flight of the Conchords is to rollerskating as capsule is to ____.

Yes, they play air hockey together. Clearly too good of a black-and-white icon moment to pass up, Y/N?

Meanwhile, Nakata is a moron, but also kind of awesome in a slightly ninja-esque way.

In any case, I know you don't care, so here's a kitten for your time. AWWWWWW

I am very scared of anything happening to my feet. When I was little, I used to wake up with awful pains in my feet, and they would bend and look totally grotesque... Thinking about it even now makes me very very upset and tense. :( I have a hard time watching dancers on TV, the way they point their toes and mangle their feet.

Actually, a similar thing has happened to my hand twice, the most recent incident only having been about a month ago. All of a sudden, my hand would feel stiff and cramp up and the skin on it would bunch together, and after a moment, it would just... go back to normal. Yet I have no regard for the well-being of my hands at all despite this, so yeah. I think I might be possessed?!

...Hey, new friends! Here's a post all about my bizarre medical conditions and related phobias. Awesome, self.

Oh, and there's also my fear of the moon that I forgot... Can't stand it. It just looks so lonely and sad up there in the sky. :/

This is how my brain functions. I feel bad for you reading this if you don't know that by now.
I remembered what I was going to update about before I was distracted by a friending meme! Which I never get any friends off of, by the way, because my interests are too bizarre and I'm not like CODE GEASS LOLOLOL. :( Anyway, I was thinking about how the most beautiful thing in the world... is probably several idol groups singing a cappella in a choir together with the sound of jingle bells as a backdrop, a.k.a. the 1st X'mas version of "Never ending story" that always comes up on my Last.fm radio as opposed to the normal one.

... You thought it was going to be something actually meaningful? Oh, I'm sorry. BUT IT ALWAYS BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE :'(((

I think I was going to say something else, but now nothing comes to mind. At least the important hold on laughing hysterically stuff is out!

If I gave a shit about anyone in the "blogosphere," I would just blog this normally. But they suck.
My latest interest is writing songs. I swear, if there's a creative hobby I haven't tried... And everything I've tried, I've done my damndest to conquer, so this'll probably be no exception. I suppose you can be on the lookout for my latest crochet project some five years from now! Because yeah, I'm that bored.

I'm really just... amazed at J-pop fandom, though. Especially idol fandom, and especially Hello! Project fandom. Hooray, ranting about fucking retarded fans and their complete naivete about the music industry! )

"nakata yasutaka saying 'tanoshii'" + "utada saying 'sexy ladies'" = awesome remix material?
If I could have a little sound clip of Nakata saying "Tanoshii!" that greeted me every day, I would be so happy. I just... I love it. He says it like it's a declaration or something. "THIS = TANOSHII." I even put it in my interests! But unfortunately, no, I have no way of twisting this so that it suits my Nakata/Toshiko obsession OTP. Alas!

And... that's really all I have to say. Yep, my LJ is back on track.

I kind of enjoy that much of Coldplay's on-stage performing is, essentially, a dance-off.
OH GOD THE COLDPLAY CONCERT WAS YESTERDAY NIGHT guys I am so tired! It was so good. Because the Internet is magical like that, there are already pictures. The guy who took them was right by us, could've only been a few seats to the left of where we were sitting, so... yeah, that's basically where we were! They were awesome seats for shy and/or standoffish people like Mother and myself who did not want to congregate with the official teenage girl Coldplay fanclub (seriously, matching shirts and everything, screaming their little heads off) taking up a full row of the floor seats. "You're in full voice tonight," Chris Martin says, probably referring mainly to said girls in the second-to-front row. He — he is so charming. :(

And now, highlights! )

I woke up this morning in the same clothes I'd worn the night before and felt like a slut to a concert venue AND I LIKED IT. Unfortunately, that is the last interesting band that'll be here up until November, so... wow? Oh well. It's not like we really have the money, that was just all we're doing for the whole summer, so yeah.

Anyway! HAPPY BIRTHDAY [info]hitokiri_chris! LAST NIGHT, I HAD A DREAM ABOUT YOU. In this dream, I'm dancing right beside you?! ...no, in the dream you were Bret McKenzie and you were dating one of my friends from school. Then you moved away with her and I was pretty sad so I cried in Jemaine's arms. But nothing ever came of that because then I woke up. ...HAPPY BIRTHDAY wow I'm really delirious

Cana occasionally does sound like someone screaming bloody murder, so maybe it was... just my music.
I was just listening to Sotte Bosse when I heard a sound coming from somewhere. My first thought: "I wonder if there's a guy trapped in my oven and he's screaming to get out?!"

...What the hell? Yes, you and I both think that, but this happens all the time. I'll hear something or see something or think about something and suddenly I'm coming up with ideas for a survival horror video game. Out of the blue.

Then I went into the kitchen to get a snack and actually crouched down to look inside the oven. Is there something wrong with me? :(

HEY GUYS, HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THOSE NEW CHEESE CRACKERS THAT ARE SHAPED LIKE MACARONI? I GOT SOME YESTERDAY JUST TO TRY THEM AND they're... just like every other cheese snack, only shaped like noodles. OH TRAGIC DISAPPOINTMENT!! They're tasty, but they have too much salt. :|

Will report back if I ever find a body! lol not likely

edit: Yay, my new Last.fm stats are out! Fifty-one Hirai Ken plays... Oh. And you know that's all "Twenty!Twenty!Twenty!", rofl. ;_; I have never been so ashamed to have listened so much to an artist I don't really like since I ended up Hamasaki Ayumi's top listener just by having "NOTHING FROM NOTHING" on repeat for hours.

Your whole family is made out of meat.

What foods can you not live without, and what foods can you not stomach?

View other answers

Meeeeeeaaaaaaat!!!!!!!!! I love meat so much. ;_; Much as I can't stand Tanaka Reina, when I heard about how she started to cry when her schedule finally cleared up enough that she could sit down and eat some meat, I totally sympathized.

As far as food I hate, I'm really picky, yet I can't seem to think of anything in particular. Well, one time I did get too close to a box of strawberry Pocky and started to heave. OH GOD I HATE THE SMELL OF STRAWBERRIES. sry Sayu, I know you love that shit, but asdklfjg.

So check out the icon! Yes, I really meant it when I posted this. It's my first manip ever, so I'm pretty proud of it... Probably going to keep practicing. RPattz/Hachu: Sharing the crack. ♥

[info]petit! Here's that 80_pan song produced by some people from The Pipettes, none of whom I can identify, since I don't listen to them (but probably should, you may be saying!). Link! WHEN MUSIC TASTES COLLIIIIIDE~

It's too bad I respect the main mod so much, because seriously, ever since that rule was put in about what's allowed to be posted there, every fucking member has jumped on posts. "Look at me! I'm telling people what to do even though I'm not a mod, but I'm still cool, right?!" No. Stop it.

You know, last time I checked, Tokito Ami was never a part of H!P. In any way. But I guess your word is law!

Normally I wouldn't get so wanky, but Jesus Christ, this has been going on too long. God forbid I make a simple request, never mind even taking some time out of my night to share something in the post and give back, when we have attention whore-y icon crossposts that include such gems as "please don't ask me where I got the scans" all over that community. In a sharing community? Oh, yes, I can see where that would be totally inexcusable. Please forgive me, amateur Photoshop user!

It's like sleeping with your cousin and you don't even know it until years after the fact.
Oh god, I could die right now.

A long time ago, I made an LJ entry (since deleted) about a mysterious idol DVD I'd downloaded somewhere with no knowledge of who the girl was. I watched it part of the way through and thought she was really, really cute, but I just left it at that since I had no way of finding out who she was. I found it again today and decided to watch the last bit at the end that I'd missed.

The kanji of her name gave me deja vu.

"Konnichiwa, Terakado Hitomi desu."

Wait, wait, say that again?

"Konnichiwa, Terakado Hitomi desu."

That is by no means a common name, but okay, it could be a fluke —

"Cast in Gunslinger Girl (TV) as Angelica."

I just cannot understand why the universe would do this to me. ;_;

Any guy who sings in falsetto about wanting to be your pop star is, at the very least, questionable.
Hirai Ken is confusing. :((( I can sit here listening to his latest album and be like, "God, I feel gay," but then I go to his PPN page and then, then — "Hirai Ken: Good-lookin' dude."

"I love you, I love you, I love this music, I love you" describes them pretty well, really.
All recent capsule albums should have as much Toshiko in them as FRUITS CLiPPER. I don't care what kind of ~AWESOME FREE SHIT~ Nakata can get, it is not a capsule song if Toshiko doesn't do the vocals. END OF STORY. I SWEAR, NAKATA, TREAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND RIGHT

Actually, maybe he's giving her less work so she can spend more time, like... shopping or drinking stylish coffee. Maybe he even brings her breakfast in bed sometimes (that's what she said!). adjusting my tin hat brb

Knowing that MEG covered "dreamin dreamin," though? This. This really challenges my love of MEG. :( Not cool! Well, no, I shouldn't blame her. There is so much wrong with the steady replacement of Toshiko lately, especially how people just accept it like she doesn't matter. God, Nakata, why do you faaaaiiilllll the way you do sometimes? Starts off just like "Portable Kuukou," too, so it's hard to stop the disappointment when it doesn't, you know... continue to go on sounding like it, even though I really like the song.

edit: Oh, and I love EE JUMP~ J-pop duos are just my thing, and seriously, TSUNKU NEEDS TO WORK WITH MORE DUDES. I know he doesn't want to let go of the H!P girls he produces right now because they're his babies, but Yuuki just gave him so many interesting angles to work with that his EE JUMP stuff sounds so amazingly fresh and creative. And I do have the hots for Yuuki, I do. :| Don't care if he's got three kids at twenty-one, is currently in prison and is going to stay there for almost six years. Don't care that he looks like this mess because he used to look like this, daaaayummmm! And... wow, don't talk anymore. Adventures in my music folder!
As [info]panonychus can attest, I have a gigantic folder of music on my desktop. Currently, it houses 121 different folders, most of which are various albums and singles, though a couple of them are subfolders filled with even more music. Here is the main one!

If it doesn't have a clearly spelled-out filename, don't ask me what it is, because I won't even know. Don't ask me why I have so much Ayu when I barely listen to her, don't ask me what possessed me to download a Janet Jackson album... I have no clue. Anyway, today I've been cleaning and so far I've deleted about six GB worth of music. Impressive! Still more to go, but I'm just having a hard time parting with all that. Not like there's any real reason why, but I'm obviously a packrat.

...Actually, if you see something you want, I'll gladly upload it. Yay, making use of shit I don't really need!

But I've been listening to some of it. It really saddens me to finally throw something away without ever having heard it. :( First of all, I downloaded Okumura Hatsune's debut single right when it came out, but then I kind of just forgot about it until today... She's really an amazing talent and I'm totally excited to hear more from her while she's still new. Finally listened to Sweet Vacation's second album (first of theirs that I've heard, though), and if someone doesn't stop me, I'm preordering their third! They are obviously just for me~ ♥ And I am really trying to like T.M.Revolution, but he's kind of ridiculous sry2say? :(((

Lastly, I'm currently really enjoying "Osananajimi"? I mean, by no means is it new (lolololo s'up Mikitty in her prime), but it's so underappreciated and I love how her vocals carry the song and tell a story. Oh, and I'm crazy about MEG, but I should probably also hate her because aquaberry is a godly album and now she's just one more artist in Nakata's legion of puppets. ...She's just so adorable, though.

Last.fm makes these things way too easy to keep track of. Now all my updates are probably going to look like this.

edit: Experiment "Do People Really Go Batshit Insane Over RAM RIDER The Minute They Hear One Of His Songs?" is complete. Verdict? Holy shit, yes. "Smile Again" feels like being underwater. It's incredible.

This entry has a lot of links. Yeah, I need more Hello! Project/J-pop peeps on my flist.
Nishino Kana just raped my ears and it was not a good experience.
Her dream of becoming a singer started from junior high school. When she was 16 her mother secretly sent a demo tape of hers to the Miss Phoenix Audition, and she was rated the top singer entrant out of approximately 40,000 applicants. A year later in 2006, she was signed to SME Records.

No. How the hell, I ask you. How the HELL? Wait, I can answer that: The other entrants were probably all really fug. (Fact: Those lyrics were transcribed by someone who thinks they know Japanese because they watch a lot of anime. Do not trust them. Just laugh.)

Even more "NO"? I was just cruising Hirata Shouichirou's Wiki.thePPN page after Last.fm told me that I needed more DEF.DIVA in my life or something. "How's my favorite Hello! Project arranger doing? Anything awesome since 'Tokaikko Junjou,' bb? ♥"

And then I discovered that he arranged fucking "Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance".

I can't love you anymore, Hirata. Tanaka Nao? It's all you, honey. Let's just hope you get more work. :/ edit: Though, really, the arrangement is hella cool. I guess Hirata bb can't help it if Tsunku comes up to him like, "Hey, want to arrange this fucking retarded song I wrote about monkeys?!" BUT STILL.

Also, man, have you ever woken up and been half-stuck in a dream? Have you ever been half-stuck in a goddamn nightmare? Yeah, it's as bad as it sounds. A motorcycle came by the street across from my room and the engine sounded like a full sentence of creepy words thrown senselessly together that still scared the shit out of me.

The delicate melodies of pico-pop are... pretty much overpowered by the growling of my stomach.
Lord, I really do love my mom. Sure, racism on the fourth of July wasn't really fun, and spending twelve hours upstairs on my good judgment that daring to venture downstairs would just make her temper flare up again got dull after awhile, but then she came upstairs and gave me a big hug and ranted about Twilight with me. And when I walked into the living room, I found that my PINE*am CD had arrived, and on the package? "I love you! See you tomorrow!"

Now, you know, I also haven't eaten for two days. But these are the measures one takes to maintain a good relationship with their mother, and aww, hell, I'm glad for it.

Things I watched while banished to the upstairs TV room: Food Network. About six hours of Food Network. After that, Resident Evil: Apocalypse and a tiny bit of Strange Love before I got bored, because... yeah, I kind of adore that show. And Samurai Jack!

I actually do not like Do As Infinity that much, guys. Just... that one song about marriage.
"Time (Clock Of The Heart)" is my favorite Leah Dizon song. Is this strange? I'm pretty sure it is. Everyone else is all crazy about... Um, I don't really know what song they're crazy about, seeing as I have never heard Leah fans discussing her music and the mod of [info]loveleahdizon usually sports an "I support Leah Dizon because she is hot" icon when posting to the community.

So why is that strange, Vulpi, besides the fact that you like Leah's Destiny Line album more than any of her photobooks?!

I'll tell you! )

Oh! Important. Or as important as things in my life can usually be. I got a new Last.fm account the other day and I've been gradually working up plays again. I went on this weird Miyoshi Chinatsu kick and now she's my third most-played artist for this week, but the thing is, her current picture is of her weird Tani Rumiko sabbatical in Korea!! This makes old perfectionist me crazy, and no one listens to the bitch enough to see my desperate plea for votes on her artist shoutbox, so for anyone who uses Last.fm? I need your help. Yeah, it may look like shit close-up, but this was 1999 and even her PVs have only been partially recovered, so that's the best I can do. VOTE

Oh, and add me, too! If you want. I plan to keep this account. XD You may think I'm just saying that, but seriously, you don't even know how much easier scrobbling has gotten for me after I started using iScrobbler instead of the standard Last.fm application. I can put songs on repeat and it'll count all the times I listen to them, guys! It's so cool! And... yeah, I'm easily pleased.

Movies, music.
Quick update before I go to bed! So, yeah, today I saw The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. It was good! I feel as if half the human cast had probably been in 300 before this, though, and I would take Lucy's Hot Little Friend James McAvoy over that whack-ass gnome any day. :(

And I bought this today for ninety-nine cents because I feel like I need to listen to more Shibuya-kei and I really like the free tracks I heard. Yay! It should be here in about a week, I guess. Um, I've had Coldplay's Viva La Vida for weeks now and still haven't listened to it, so I need to get around to that.

I guess that's it!
