I was sooooooooo sick Tuesday with flu-like symptoms (starting about 10pm on Monday night). :( Blah. I lived in my bathroom for 24 hours. T__T Needless to say, I didn't go into work. And I didn't go into work today to recover from not sleeping for 48 hours. My paycheck is going to be so small this week (and I bet there are not too pleased I called in because there was a truck Tuesday & sale set up for the biggest sales of the season Wednesday [though I did do some set up of it Monday already]). *sniffs* On a good note, my symptoms have lessen a great deal and I ate a whole three spoonfuls of Wheaties cereal today with nothing happening...yet.

03-22-2008 Roof

A mini rant: Our roof has a leak. T__T I just noticed it like a half an hour ago. o.O We were going to have the roof looked at this spring for repairs and such but now this is an emergency that has to be looked at right away. The leak is in the dining room. There is a vent on the roof there and with the new snow and suddening melting it just finally gave up. That is one of the weak points of the roof and it must have a gap in it or be lifting up to cause the water to get under it. Which makes it drip to the attic and then to the dining room's ceiling. I have a plastic tub there incase it starts dripping, right now it is just causing an ugly wet spot on the ceiling, which is growing bigger. This winter has been very rough on our house and I know this spring I will have to do many repairs. *sigh* ;___; Going to find a roofer Monday to do a patch job so we can just stop that leak from getting worse.

I hope we can find someone that doesn't cost too much. Ah, the joys of owning your own home. :P All the money spent for home repairs can bite, but it is an investment. But I am not planning on selling, so it can be a money pit also. :/ I just wish sometimes, if I rented, I could call up a super and tell them to fix the sink or toilet or roof and be done with it. LOL!

03-21-2008 Snow

2nd snowest winter for Milwaukee ever!! :sing: The Mitchell International Airport made it official! We broke the record set back in 1897-98 with over 94.2 inches total snow fall (also outranked the third, the snowy winter of 1959-60 which was 93.3 inches)! The winter of 1985-86, when a snowfall of 109.8 inches was recorded for Milwaukee, still ranks as No.1.

p.s. Our car got briefly stuck in Sears parking lot at the mall (tires spinning & spinning until I smelled rubber ...rocking it back and forth and then out). ^_^; And later in our own drive way and had to be shoved and snowblowed out to get in the garage. I did NOT see ONE snowplow on the street when driving home from work. The roads were crap! A snowplow did magically come through on our street (didn't see it) and did a quick sloppy job and managed to plow boulders of snow in front of our drive. I got out and moved them with my gloved hands and kicked the snow (with my brand new suede boots I just got that day because I didn't bring boots to work..doh) so we could drive up the driveway. The car made it ALMOST to the end of the drive before it got stuck. I again crazily attacked the snow, this time grabbing a shovel and started shoving out the snow from the front of the car and wouldn't you know the first shove full of snow I flung RIGHT in the garage and into our garbage cans & misc. stuff piled near them! O_O I just laughed. It was crazy! I also laughed when I first got in the car at Sears cause I brought so much snow in the car it was ALL over everything, the seat, the parking break, and cup holder. I burst out laughing!

Horoscope for today ^_^

Pisces (2/19-3/20)
Your inner poet is going to help you handle stress today, so don't fight it. Relax and open your mind, and you will find poetry in what you would normally call noise or clatter or banal chitter-chatter. However, your energy will flourish best in quieter surroundings, where you are either alone or accompanied by only one or two other people. This is a wonderful day to climb inside your own little world, even if you're in the middle of a crowd. You'll find a new level of insight there.

A Bleach favor

*deep breath* I'd like to ask my friends and others who are into Bleach a favor. ^_^ When my hard drive blew back in November I lost all my Bleach stuff I had been gathering for 3 years. ;__; So it is back to the beginning again with my gathering. *cries* So I just like to ask for help to ease the process a little if you can point me to some nice pictures, fanart, stories, icons or wallpaper with Chad in them. I want to first try to get some nice stuff back of my favorite Bleach guy. :D I have already started on it.
Also next on my list are Renji and Shuuhei (so if you see some nice stuff for them too I'd interested). ^____^ Thanks!

birthdays and work

calm, Chad
Hmmm... tomorrow is the day that I start with my new work schedule. Also that change falls on my birthday of all days. *la sigh* I hope I can manage it. I am not a morning person and to be at work at 6am seems almost criminal for a person that doesn't like mornings.

So I have been celebrating early, sort of like it will be the end of the world or something like that. ^^; I was treated Saturday for lunch at my favorite japanese restaurant. ^____^ And yesterday I went to the Olive Garden for dinner to have the seafood fettuccine & peach iced tea. ^.^ I hope to have some cake for my birthday and get to blow out the candles without starting a fire. lol!

Ashlet

On a happier note I got a new doll. ^.^ She arrived this Friday. She isn't a bjd but rather a Blythe. And she is really cute! I preordered her back in August (for a lower preorder price) but she was shipped until Feb 13th and arrived on the 29th from Japan. I got interested in Blythe about a year ago because a few girls on the WI BJD forum collect them. I broke down and decided I wanted one for my very own. ^____^ She is a Blythe Ashlet. She does not have a name yet, because I thought she was going to arrive closer to Christmas so I had the name Noel picked out for her, but now I am not so sure. When she arrived and I looked at her--her long brown hair is so soft and pretty, by the way--that she didn't seem like a Noel to me any more, if you know what I mean. *nod*

And oh goodness, it is raining outside. O_O Figures, it is finally a bit warmer today and now it decides to rain. *sighs* As you can tell I am not fond of rain.

Big Snow Storm

Big snow this Wednesday!

Ground to a halt

Bracing for another punch
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=715977

No neato stories about me & snow. I just stayed home cause they called me and said work was closed. Around 2pm my brother walked to Walgreens for pizza to eat for dinner because we didn't have anything to eat. ^^; He offered and I couldn't say no. ^_^

Later, my brother got out to do the drive at about 8pm (he didn't want to do it when it was still snowing...don't ask ^^; ). It was so high that he had to bring the shovel in the house and go around to shovel in front of the garage door, because the snow all drifted up against it and it would not open. But as he was getting off the front porch, he noticed an overhang of snow on the roof. He knocked at it to knock it down, but in doing so he caused a bit of an avalance (sp?) and didn't notice until too late as a HUGH amount of snow fell off the front of the house across the drive and just added like 12" more on top of all the rest of the snow in front of the very garage door he was going to dig out! Two feet of snow! Needless to say, he said it was a very dumb thing to do. ^^; I have pictures. lol! The snow was about as high as our CAR! He spent an hour snowblowing out. I am happy that our little snowblower is so tough and could get through that hugh amount of thick snow. So he snow blowed out and got to the end of the drive and told me that there was no road. >__<

I know they have NOT plowed our street since the morning so...we basically after shoving all out we can't still go anywhere, because the street has about 6 or 7" of snow over it with no tracks. We live on a no outlet street with little traffic so....have to wait until morning when the plow comes around...I hope to plow the street.

Why I hate scary movies

  • Oct. 29th, 2007 at 2:17 PM

Because they cause me to keep the lights on two nights in a row when I sleep (and I plan to do it for another couple nights maybe). >__< I never had to do that for years. I am a grown adult! I am not scared of the dark or whatever. *___* Sure...

Ok, at the Halloween dollmeet Saturday they had the TV going on in the background and what movie comes up? 'Grudge 2'. I was half watching it, but it is like watching something you shouldn't; you can't help watching or taking a peek. Anyhow I saw like about more then half, the last half. It wasn't making sense because I could not hear what was going on too well, because I was in a room full of people, but it didn't have to. That movie is made just for pure fright. It doesn't have to have a story to scare you. Then of course my fav character got killed near the end so I just knew it was downhill from that....it ends happily ever after that...not. lol!

So anyhow went home to watch the last half of 'Underworld' on cable (which I need to see that whole thing now because what I saw it was neat!). My brother watched it a couple times before but I never did. "Underworld' is NOT a scary movie though it has werewolves and vampires. It is just a cool movie with action and stuff! ^o^

So my movie selections for my Halloween:

'Grudge 2'=no, scary :(
'Underworld'=yes!!, not scary ^.^

Standard time....why did we change the date it happens here where we live? I made a fool of myself yesterday with the neighbors and halloween hand out. I thought it started an hour later because of that (because, yes, I trusted my brother when he told me and I didn't question it because it has always been that way for years). *sighs* I had to run after the kids to give them the candy and ask the parents why they were trick or treating an hour early.

I live in a cave. >_< A BIG dark cave. I am glad I didn't have to work that day.

Labor Day

First post in awhile. I have much to catch up on. But I just wanted to say what I did today.

I went to the zoo and had a lot of fun. I took pictures and strolled about in the heat to look at the animals. I drank much soda to keep cool and went into shade at times. The animals did that same, lounging in water or in the shade, the ones that don't like it as hot. But the ones that did, basked in the sun.

The big cat building was air conditioned inside so that was nice unlike the koala one but it was temperature controlled for the animals but not the visitors.

I really liked seeing all the different types of bears as I am on a bear-kick now. Near closing, I bought a cute purple plushie bear and named her Violet and a mood bracelet with a lion pendent attached to it.

Afterward, I went to Kopp's and had ice cream and a burger. All in all a great Labor Day. ^-^
