sooo...I'm in Canada again. It's Christmas time. I'm at my Mom's in Nova Scotia.
Yesterday we did a little toboganning and snow fun. But today it rained so we went to this indoor pool with a PIRATE SHIP and waterslides!
Pirates Cove at the Dartmouth Sports Centre
Everytime I come here I visit some sort of Duloks related song theme... Lighthouses, Pirate ships, lots of nautical things as Nova Scotia is "Canada's Ocean Playground".
Spending Christmas eve at an indoor waterslide pool is pretty hilarious but I love slides and my toboganning efforts seem hopeless now that most of the snow has melted. sniff

mira probably posted this already but how sweet is the ULU backstage? They have a full on double bed with massive pillows and stuff! Very cool.
Also, I danced like an idiot in front of 500 people during You Say Party! We Say Die!'s gig when Becky called us Duloks up on stage. I think I would have felt more comfortable in Dulok wear.
Tonight a boy recognised me on the street as well... he even knew my name! Just from the Duloks gig at Bestival. Yay, for being spotted by random dulok fans...that definitely puts a smile on my face.

But the Duloks do need another keyboard player... as the article says (which they just copied from my myspazz bulletin) Amina is in school and can't always come on tour with us and we need someone who might be interested in coming along to places like Paris or wherever to play gigs... you get free travel and accomodation and maybe a little ££ if we earn some money.
Hit me up if you know anyone. You definitely need to live in London or be willing to come here for practice and you don't have to wear the short shorts... Alice never did!

Soon Tent Street will be requiring 2 new flatmates. It's a good house with lots of space, livingroom, big kitchen, 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms... there's 4 of us (but 2 are leaving). Anyway, if anyone has any friends who will be needing a place in the next month or so pass along my info!

team dulok dj-ed at the betsey trotwood last night and actually got PAID! woop.
we're djing again next friday (august 24) at the old blue last and hopefully we're on a role.
£60 for an hours work. yay!
i lost my voice by the end of last night though. it's saturday and i'm still in pjs and probably not really going to leave the house much today. i have had a sore throat all week and everytime i go out or go to work it just gets worse. i need to try not speaking for a whole 24 hours! impossible though for me who loves to gossip! ha.

i'm in corfu. re-named chavos from kavos... i have never seen soooo many chavs and restaurants serving english breakfast...even in england! but this is greece. eek.
it is also 43 degrees and i am very hot and tanned and burnt. i will be coming back to london as a latina spy. x

i finally popped my british festival cherry and camped at latitude this weekend... it was a really nice festival and i don't think i could do a fest without backstage passes. luckily the duloks played so i had a backstage pass and could go to the toilet easily and eat free food.
anyway, more pics on my flickr. we played with ken stringfellow of rem and the posies fame on keys... he wore the short shorts etc
did an interview for radio 1 on a boat in a lake, had the guy from new young pony club recognise me and start singing "red wizard" to me saw css, rapture, i'm from barcelona etc... was fun times even though i had a cold!
next festival i'm going to is in norway...we're playing ekko fest at the end of august! and bestival in september.... anyone going to bestival???

i barely ate half of this. it was insane. if you go to this pizzaria in nuremberg please buy just 1 pizza for EVERYONE.
tonight i got to hang out with vancouver friends you say party! we say die! which is always nice. especially as i've known some of them for 11 years!!! i got a song dedicated to "mar the teenager. let's all be 15 again" -- good times. it's also nice to see bands who just played wireless and are playing glastonbury this weekend will still play a monday night at the ghetto for £3. perfect.

it's not a joke.
we are playing sunday afternoon for free at London's Royal Festival Hall. 6pm. June 10th
We are also playing at Buttoned Down Disco Live this Friday. June 8th. 93 Feet East. With Look Look (dancing boys), Scha lalas, and Priscillas. It is free before 9pm with mailing list print out. Or £5 all night.
please come. I have been away in Canada for 2 weeks and I have a bit of a tan, loads of bruises on my legs, a sun burn on my back, and lots of new clothes (including 2 new pairs of duloks short shorts).

probably the most exciting thing I saw in Paris. Mickey Mouse with a HUGE cock. amazing.
The gigs were mega rammed full of uber trendy paris people. It was not like a usual Duloks gig but still really radical. We played free places that were like members only kind of deals. Thursday was super super fun at Le Baron...but friday at Paris Paris was a bit more chaotic and full of models. For some reason they were having a photo shoot in our backstage!
Interpol DJed after we played on Thursday at Le Baron and I hadn't seen Sam in 5 years! Yeesh... I feel old when I can say to people...remember 5 years ago when we did this?

I spoke on Radio 1 tonight! Wa-hey. I did a work experience type thing on the Huw Stephens show and helped out etc... then he randomly interviewed me about the Duloks upcoming single and such.

Also, Duloks did ARMY DULOKS last night and it was a SUCCESS even though we played a gig at the OBL which was £7!?!?! For only 2 bands and no DJs on a Tuesday. Whoever booked that show did NOT comprehend that the Old Blue Last is either FREE or MEGA CHEAP.
Also, Mar and Mira Dulok just got booked for the Latitude Festival (July 12 - 15)... expect some craziness as our other partner in crime Mina Dulok will be away in Africa.
Oh and oh...I am not doing ANYTHING Duloks this weekend... so fun suggestions of how to waste my time would be appreciated.

what a piece of crap... after getting numerous facebook requests i tried it out last week. deleted my profile within 3 days.
it's like living yr life on the internet...who has time for that? i barely even update livejournal once a month... let alone check all my email addresses and myspace sites i have.
people you've got way way waaaaaaaay too much time on yr hands to type in how you know all yr friends and write on people's "walls"

you know what sucks... leaving yr super expensive swimsuit at the pool and then coming back the next day only to find out they've thrown it in the bin. bah!
anyone got any good swim shops to recommend? something cheaper than speedo but nicer than primark.
