| Sleepless Brad Pitt |
[12 Oct 2008|05:25pm] |
Brad Pitt says being a parent "keeps him up at night".
The 'Burn After Reading' star - who has six children with partner Angelina Jolie, Maddox, seven, Pax, four, Zahara, three, Shiloh, two and two-month-old twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline - admits having children affects every aspect of his life, even the countries he chooses to go to.
He said: "Being a parent is the one thing that really keeps you up at night. Angelina and I have to be smart and prepared, and we are more responsible when it comes to the areas we decide to visit.
"There won't always be the luxurious health care or opportunities for assistance we're used to. It makes you realise just how lucky we are."
The 44-year-old actor added he is totally committed to his family, insisting they are the only people who make him truly happy.
He said: "My family comes before everything else. No film will ever take precedence or fill me with the kind of joy I have as a father and partner."

| Shia LaBeouf's warm toilet |
[12 Oct 2008|05:19pm] |
Shia LaBeouf has splashed out on a heated toilet seat.
The 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' star says he hasn't had much time to spend the money he has made from acting, but has treated himself to a self-heating toilet seat which he is now "dependent on".
Shia said: "I bought one of those cool toilet seats with the heater in it. They are amazing. I am dependent on it now.
"My biggest splurge was definitely tickets for baseball games. Without a doubt. The thing is it is everyone else around me who helps to gets to enjoy them because I am never around to get to the games."
This is not the first time the 22-year-old star has admitted a penchant for bathroom furniture.
Earlier this year, it was reported Shia painted toilet seats in his spare time to help him relax.
It was claimed the star decorates the furnishings with eclectic patterns and sayings, including 'Pooperazzi' and 'High End For Your Rear End'.
Shia reportedly sells the seats at flea markets.

| Colin Farrell: Drinking was killing me |
[12 Oct 2008|05:11pm] |
Colin Farrell has admitted during an appearance on the Jonathan Ross show that his drinking habit was killing him. The Miami Vice star told the BBC host: "I'd been drinking since I was 14. I was pretty sick. At the beginning [of recovery] I found it really hard. "For me there was no choice... it was tough but I was dying. I was struggling not to have a complete meltdown... I was just gone. "I'm glad I'm out of that cycle, I'm very lucky." Farrell also told Ross that he was being serious about wanting to seduce Emmy award winning writer Dame Eileen Atkins: "The one that got away! I gave it all that I was worth. She's an incredibly attractive woman, wicked. "I fell at the first hurdle, my ego couldn't take any more refusals. I saw her in New York and said our time will come... it's unfinished business! Charlize Theron will head to court later this month in a $20 million lawsuit - all because she accessorized with some renegade bling.
Swiss timekeepers Raymond Weil had claimed Theron reneged on an endorsement contract specifying that she wear their watches - and only their watches - 24/7. The "Monster" star tried to fight the claims back in February, but this week a judge ruled that the proceedings must indeed go to trial. At stake? The "substantial funds" that Raymond Weil wants back, estimated by lawyers to be $20 million.
According to court papers, Theron must appear in Federal Court for the Southern District of New York by the end of October. Tick-tock ...

| Yaz pill |
[12 Oct 2008|08:51pm] |
Hey everyone, I have been on Yaz for a month now, I got it as soon as it was introduced in Australia (only became available on the 1st September). I'm not sure where else it's available, it's a 24/4 pill instead of a 21/7. Just wondering what other people's experiences have been with it, as some of its benefits are to decrease PMDD and also treat moderate acne. My skin seems pretty much just as bad as a month ago (but I'll give it a few months), but my PMS/PMDD has been nonexistant. Other pills have been pure hell for me. So this is a pleasant change. Anyone else on it, been on it, how was your experience with PMS and acne?

| plan b and period issues. |
[12 Oct 2008|04:24am] |
|
a couple of months ago, my ex was trying to get me pregnant. i ended up getting a plan b pill just to be safe. i took the first dosage a day before ovulation and then again 12 hours later which happened to be on my ovulation day. my period was due to come on september 11th and it did come but it was unusually light and lasted for about 3 days verses my regular 5 day cycles. i was told that plan b could lighten your period so i wasn't too worried about that. a week or so later on september the 22nd i started bleeding again and this was like a regular period and it lasted it's 4 to 5 days. i thought nothing of it. now i wasn't due to come back on my period until october the 19th (i keep track of my cycle via mymonthlycycles.com) and i came on again october 8th so basically i've been coming on my period every two weeks and the flow is heavier than usual. i called the plan b hot line and the advice nurse told me that plan b only stays in the body for 10 days so that isn't the pill's side effects and that i should consult my doctor. has this ever happened to anybody else? i am a bit worried.

| Perfect home for 007: Bond star Daniel Craig snaps up £4million apartment near Regent's Park |
[12 Oct 2008|02:23pm] |

It's the perfect home for 007 - a minute's walk from James Bond’s fictional HQ, in an area well used by spies and close to flats designed by the real-life Goldfinger.
So no wonder Daniel Craig has just snapped up a £4million apartment in this house near Regent’s Park.
Apparently oblivious to the credit crunch, the actor, whose second Bond movie Quantum Of Solace is released at the end of the month, paid nearly £600,000 more for the flat than it sold for a year ago.
Daniel, 40, proudly showed his film producer girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell round last week after builders tore out the insides ready for a refit.
He appeared delighted with the progress on the two-storey apartment.
And he will have no worries about the cost of the project. His first Bond movie, Casino Royale, made £290million in ticket sales - the most for a 007 film.
And Bond film company Eon Productions has signed him up for four more movies in a contract that could earn him £30million in the next five years.
The new house is conveniently close to Primrose Hill - an area once home to Daniel’s celebrity friends.
They include Jude Law and his ex-wife Sadie Frost, and Sienna Miller, who starred in Layer Cake with Daniel and had a fling with him after her affair with Law.
The location has impeccable Bond credentials. In Ian Fleming’s Bond books, 007’s HQ was just a short walk away - described as a ‘tall grey building near Regent’s Park’ which housed British Naval Intelligence.
Meanwhile Fleming’s real-life nemesis, the architect Erno Goldfinger, left his mark on the area in the form of the flats he designed nearby.
Fleming was known to dislike Goldfinger’s modern design style and when he named 007’s adversary Auric Goldfinger the real architect threatened to sue.
Spies, both fictional and real, have used the area as a meeting point. John le Carré set a crucial scene in his 1974 novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy on the Regent’s Park canal.
And Regent’s Park was the place where the notorious double agents Kim Philby and Donald Maclean were recruited by Russian spy Arnold Deutsch and then groomed by Russian spy chief Theodore Mally at meetings on park benches.
But Daniel is keeping his reasons for picking the flat highly confidential. His spokeswoman would not comment on his personal life. Source

| Tim Robbins gets a star |
[12 Oct 2008|12:11am] |
Tim Robbins gets star of Hollywood Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Tim Robbins is known in Hollywood as an Academy Award-winning actor, director, activist and hockey fanatic. On Friday, he added comedian to his repertoire while getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
"I used to take the bus from here to Burbank to go to work," he recalled. "When the bus was late, I would walk up and down and throw my cigarettes down. Now I have the honor of having this done to my star."
Guests at the ceremony included Robbins' longtime partner, Susan Sarandon, as well as relatively dimunitive actor Jack Black, who said he has known the tall, lanky Robbins for 25 years.
"I literally looked up to him," Black joked. "I actually became his stalker because I wanted to be part of his world."
Robbins was nominated for a best-director Oscar in 1996 for "Dead Man Walking," a movie he co-wrote about the death penalty. Sarandon's role in it won the Oscar for best actress.
"I am so pleased to be a part of his life, and I want to present Tim's best production—our three kids," Sarandon said.
Born in West Covina, Calif., and raised in New York City, Robbins came from a family of entertainers. His father, Gil Robbins, played with the folk group The Highwaymen in the 1960s.
Robbins, 49, is known for his proclivity for bold roles. He has appeared in critically acclaimed films such as "Mystic River," "The Shawshank Redemption," "Jacob's Ladder" and "The Player."
In Clint Eastwood's "Mystic River," Robbins' portrayal of a man haunted by memories of childhood sexual abuse won him a best supporting actor Oscar in 2004.
