Here's the Press Release we just issued: TAFF Press Release 27 May 2006 TransAtlantic Fan Fund 2006 Race - Europe to North America James Bacon, European TAFF Administrator Suzanne Tompkins, North American TAFF Administrator For Immediate Release: TAFF Winner Announced At a fan gathering held in London today at the Horseshoe Inn, the winner of the 2006 TAFF race to send a European candidate to North America and LACon IV was announced by James Bacon, European TAFF Administrator in consultation with Suzanne Tompkins, North American TAFF admin. Bridget Bradshaw (Bug) won by a clear majority of the 292 votes cast. Further details of voting will be announced shortly. 117 attendees at the mini-con held from Noon to Midnight on 27 May added 34 votes to the European total today as well as drinking the Pub out of real ale and gin. Additionally, £300+ was raised here for the TAFF coffers. Bridget will be traveling to the US to attend the LA Worldcon is August. Details of her TAFF trip will be announced when they are available. 4:11 pm	Hello from Suzle Jerry set me up with a spanking new LJ account last weekend, but I haven't had two minutes to do anything at all with it. I'd like to start by thanking everyone who has "friended" me so far. I've just reciprocated and friended you all (of course, Jerry did have to tell me who some of you are, but it sounds like an interesting group). I'm not much of a journal keeper, never had a diary, need to rewrite everything I write many times until it sounds reasonable, so this is something of an adventure. The TAFF win had us pretty frantic for a few days there, but things have calmed down. Thanks to everyone on LJ who sent congrats via Jerry's LJ. More to come.
