Aww. I think it's time for another, "Madelyn Sees Something Cool In HP Fandom and Implements/Steals It For Usage In Her Fandom Of Choice" type thing. I'd like to give this one a whirl in SGA or possibly a multi-fandom type thing.
Basically: People would write badfic summaries. Yes, on purpose. Something like...is draco really the last of the water nympths? can he live with it? what if his g/f (hermoine) finds out male nymphs bare children? what will luscious say??? the ending will make u cry. mpreg. R&R or else!!!!!! or oooh, Hagwarts has a PEEPPING TOM an no one fels safe in teh dorms anymor. But whart hapens when the Peeper pokes his wicked eye into the wrong place?! CAOS!!!LOL! pls r&r, and there's a pony!!2!
...there are days when I wonder what I'd be doing, if I were in HP fandom. *mists* Anyway, I digress. People write these beautiful summaries. Then I would assign them out to our players. People would have 48 hours to: (what you do) with the summary is entirely up to you. Write a whole ficlet based on it. Write the opening/closing paragraphs of a hypothetical long fic - or give us a cookie from the middle and throw in some Author's Notes to explain the rest of the plot. Or any other option that appeals to you. What you write doesn't have to match the tone of the summary, and it doesn't have to be deliberate badfic. (In other words, if you want to actually make this...you know, good, hey, more power to you. Rock that summary--what you do with it once you have it is entirely in your hands.)

Also, does my writing it involve having seen, like, a substantial amount of the source material? Because it doesn't seem to influence the badfic writers at all, in which case... hey, I've seen at least an hour of a LOT of things.
But I'd say that not knowing your canon isn't like, a hinderance in a challenge such as this, no. *bites lip*
