There are a lot of really neat pictures here.
Of course, they'll probably give me nightmares, but whatever they're still pretty cool.

I woke up today smelling burnt plastic in the bedroom and worrying that the ceiling fan was having electrical problems, but there was nothing. I was just smelling phantom burnt plastic - for half an hour.
Now all I can smell is incense. I haven't burnt incense in probably 3 months.
Burnt plastic, burnt incense....hopefully burnt toast isn't next...

Giddily, I whipped out my credit card, which, because I'm poor, only has a balance of $52 on it, so I could order the new Mark Ryden (and Marion Peck) storybook "Sweet Wishes", which corresponds with their short film of the same title.
The book is $20.
They want another $20 to ship it to fucking Canada.
This brings the total to "too much monies" for a poor person to spend on a stupid storybook and that makes me very very sad.
:o(
But here's their movie, "Sweet Wishes", anyway, even though they made me cry because they're big jerks:

Quick before I go to bed: What exactly IS Last.fm?
I clicked around the site trying to to figure it out, but didn't sign up because I wasn't totally sure if it's what I'm looking for.
Is it like iTunes except online in a browser, where the songs are streamed instead of downloaded? (And then they recommend stuff blah blah blah. I mostly care about the first part.)
i r confused. halp.

It's almost been 3 months of no smoking (for those just tuning in: I quit from Jan.-end of March, smoke for most of April, quit again May 1st) and that 3 month craving is hitting me fucking HARD.
But luckily, the government's on my side.
I got to the store, saw the grey panels behind the counter, instead of rows upon rows of cigarettes and bought candy instead. (A few months back, our provincial government made all the stores keep cigarettes behind solid grey panels instead of right. Controversial, of course, but effective for me today....which is why I'm even mentioning it. More info on that.)
It's probably not a deterrent for most people, but with my special combination of social issues, something just clicked.
Also, this is the first time I've driven in about as many months, largely because the only place I drive to is to the store down the street and only when I'm feeling desperate enough to disappoint myself and everyone I know by buying smokes.
Anyway, I got Giant Chewy Nerds instead of the garden variety Nerds and they are sooooooo weird. I didn't like them at first, but I have a feeling the whole bag will be gone before I get to sleep. The outside is like a thin candy shell that's made out of "Nerd material" and the inside is not unlike a Jelly Belly, except Nerd-flavoured. Not as good as Chewy Gobstoppers, but definitely worth a try.
I also got ketchup chips, a Skor bar and squirty strawberry gum, which is just about my favourite candy of all.
I wanted to get a magazine as I've been seeing some covers this month on the internet that I wouldn't mind picking up, but our little corner store has the bare minimum and they didn't have anything worth buying. Maybe, money pending, I can convince Blake to take me to Chapters to look at their selection this week. Maybe I can even scam Starbucks out of the deal. Maybe. (I doubt it.)
Anyway, that is all. I still got shit to do tonight.

Today was kind of a crappy day for taking pictures of flowers, but I checked the weather and we're supposed to have rain and thunderstorms over the next like, 5 days or something, and I was afraid that if I waited that long, the coreopsis in my garden would stop showing off.
Behold:

Aren't they cute? They're like little baby sunflowers! The weird thing, though, is that I looked it up and they're only supposed to be about 2 feet high and for whatever reason, mine are almost up to my armpits, so about a foot taller than they're supposed to be. Other years, I've only had a handful of these and they've been low-growers. I'm not sure what their deal is this year but they're pretty much my favourite thing right now. I catch myself going into the kitchen for no other reason but to look at them out the window, which is actually an angle I probably should have taken a picture from because it's more impressive but the thought didn't cross my mind and I don't feel like dealing with the neighbours again to take more/better pictures.
The garden's actually in desperate need of weeding and a lot of my spring bulbs are still in the process of dying back, so I didn't take a whole lot of pics, but ( here's a couple more )
So that's pretty much my garden so far. The whole thing was filled in with these tiny blue flowers that opened and closed unpredictably, almost like a frillier, blue version of the baby's breath, but I never figured out what they were and they went to seed before I had a chance to get pics. Whenever I was in the mood to take pics (or the memory card was empty/the camera had batteries), the damn things weren't open, it was raining or was about to and finally I just gave up. They simply didn't want their pictures taken, they looked amazing though, I wish I could have shared them.
My hollyhock bulbs, I think, are a write-off, along with the lilly of the valley pips I planted, which sucks because both were the most expensive things in the garden. There's a chance they'll come up next year, but since I think the problem was a lack of water and planting them too late, I kinda doubt it. I think both shriveled up and died underground. Oops. :o(
Like every year, the vegetable garden never got planted (for a million reasons), but I have two thriving cherry tomato plants growing in pots on the porch that really should have been staked two weeks ago but I haven't had any money to do so and couldn't find anything around the house that would suffice. I had green peppers sprouting on the window sill to be planted in pots on the porch too, but I kinda forgot they were there and they fried so...so much for that.
I had more things to say beyond gardening, but my brain stopped working 5 minutes ago so I guess I'll just hit "post".

According to Facebook, the first of my childhood friends appears to be getting a divorce. She was the first of us to get married, too, but I don't know what year that happened.
We had a huge thunderstorm that woke up everyone in the house, except for Wes, and I haven't been able to go back to sleep. This really sucks because I have to go to the dentist today to get a filling put in (one fell out) and I don't want to be exhausted for that. :o/ I took a Benadryl that'll hopefully kick in soon and knock me out for a few hours.
And that's all I have to say.

Between that and Ana Voog's book (which I really really want and really really can't afford) and the camgirls documentary that I'm told should be finished by the end of the year(-ish), it's looking like the year of the camgirl!
Crazy!
Edit: Hey cool! Here's a little "Where is she now?" type of video with Jennifer Ringley of Jennicam. I thought she disappeared!
And hell, while I'm at it, here's her appearance on Letterman, which I've posted on my site before, but not on LJ:
