Wow. I haven't updated this in a while.

Nothing much has been happening... semester's over (yay), work sucks, my friends are <3...

I'm going to live in Lansing with Adrianne for 3-4 days per week next semester to cut down on mileage on my car. Should be fun!

Hoooly crap last night was insane. I started drinking at 8, was puking at 10, drank lots of water, and then drank until 2 AM!

And today I fell asleep next to the toilet probably three different times.

So I guess it was a mixed blessing... totally fun while doing it, but DAMN payback is a bitch.


I'm soooooooo hungry... and all I can eat is toast. :(

I took L.B. to Heritage Acres this morning for her appointment, and the vet basically told me 1) he doesn't know what else he can do for her, 2) I need to take her to Michigan State so they can do a biopsy on the infection in her mouth, and 3) I should try one last antibiotic but that he "isn't holding his breath."

So, basically, my cat has been on some hardcore antibiotics since August for something that her vet can't figure out, and he's basically giving up on her.

OH! And he also said it might be lymphoma.

WTF. Cue me freaking out when I got home.

I then called Pinecrest and got her in at 12:15. I wanted a second opinion before I got a referral to go to MSU (which is fucking expensive).

Dr. Rangi rocks my socks. He said he's seen her condition a number of times. It looks like she has an autoimmune disease called eosinophilic granuloma complex. He gave her a steroid shot and wants to see her again in 10 days.

Guess which vet I'm going to from now on? Hmm... maybe the guy that knows what he's talking about?




...In other news, I'm 21 now!!! :D Totally getting hammered tonight with my Depot buddies. Yaaaaay!

K..... so Danton stopped by on his way home from hunting. In the 2 years I've known him he's never come over before. It was nice, especially since I won't be able to see him for a while with Thanksgiving on Thursday... and if Janelle doesn't have her baby before Monday they're going to induce her. First grandchild.... yeah, big family event. :-)

My parents just got us a family membership to the Y! I'm pretty excited about that.

I have a chem quiz, a logic quiz, and a geography exam tomorrow. I'm looking forward to geography (I have a 99% in the class) but the others.... ugh.

It's supposed to snow tomorrow, too. What a day.

Work sucks right now. Out of the three other girls working the service desk, one is on medical leave for an unknown length of time (and I'm really worried about her!) and another is off for a week because her sister passed away. :-(

My 21st birthday is in a couple weeks (the 29th!!!!) and I've taken the following weekend off. I'm going to hang in Grand Rapids with Kim, Adrienne and Heather. We're going to oogle nekkid men and get outrageously fucked up. :-D

The new Jimmy Eat World cd is pretty fuckin' sweet.

It's absolutely gorgeous outside today. 55* and sunny!

I have Friday off for the first time in months. I think that's totally awesome. Yay!

I'm hungry but too lazy to eat.

Finished Shadowstorm. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Looove the dynamics between Cale and Riven. Rivalen is just awesome and creepy. And Tamlin wanting to become a shade? Aaaah, I can't wait for the next book!!!

Bought The Orc King yesterday and started it last night. I don't know. Salvatore's writing just.... bugs me sometimes. But I've read all the Drizzt books - can't stop now. Plus I'm collecting them in hardcover (gave all my softcovers to Uncle Ron)... yay for cheap books online.

Speaking of cheap stuff.... <3 half.com. Just bought 3 hardcover books (The Hunter's Blades 3-in-1 collector's edition, The Legacy, and The Halfling's Gem), 1 softcover book (Guns, Germs and Steel) and 2 CDs (KT Tunstall Drastic Fantastic and Anberlin Never Take Friendship Personal) for right around $57.00. Not bad.

Also, bought the cats a climber/tree thing from acecatfurniture.com. They looove it.

It's only 50 something degrees outside today. Marvelous weather. I love autumn in Michigan. 'Course, I've never experienced it anywhere else so I may be a bit biased. ;)

I DON'T WANT TO WORK TOMORROW. At least it's an afternoon shift.

I just found out today that the Michigan government is shutting down because they haven't decided on a budget.

 I feel kinda bad for slacking in school. But not.

I was late to Chem this morning (thanks to the construction EVERYWHERE in Lansing) so I decided not to go and studied Logic instead... read Chapter 6 about Fallacies. Easy as hell. So then I went to get lunch and somehow ended up going home and cleaning my room. I went back for Geography at 6:00... because it's the best class evah.

I'm nervous about the vet visit tomorrow. My rat's just... old. There's probably not a lot of point in taking him. Besides, I have to save most of my money for LB for when she goes back for checkups, flea medicine, etc.

Meh!

 

By the way, I finished Shadowbred last night; I decided to re-read it before starting Shadowstorm. I'm a couple chapters into it now. :)

I picked up LB last night at 5:00. She was so drugged from the anesthetic that she couldn't hold her head straight.... or walk straight... or do anything. It was really cute. My mom brushed her and she just passed out.

She's back to normal today. She's been eating really well and grooming herself and using the litter box. Yay!


Also........ I'm really gross.

My brown rat has a smallish growth on his back. I'm pretty sure it's a benign tumor (if he had cancer he'd definitely be dead already). Anyway, the skin is stretched in a hole over it so you can see the hard tumor-stuff on his back. I don't think it's gross because it's just, I dunno, a hard lump of probably minerals/random stuff from his body and he's cute and he's mine and I don't care.

I just tried to take a small bit of it off because, well, I'm weird and I figured it was probably putting pressure on his organs...... and it all started coming out. o_0 The tumor, not his organs. So I stopped and called Pinecrest, but they don't do exotic pets. They recommended a vet in Williamston.

So I get to drive 40 minutes tomorrow morning to take my rat to the vet. That's why I didn't call before now. &*#*&!*%!*&^* I hope it's not expensive.

I hope they don't have to put him down, but I'll understand if they do. I just don't know what his brother will do without him!!! Rats bond when they grow up/live together and I'll have to get another male rat so he won't be depressed. For real. My mom says I can't get any more rats. Pfffffft.

We had to take LB to the vet today because her mouth is really infected.... it turns out she has a cleft palate. :((((((((( She has 5 abcesses in the back of her mouth because of it. That's why she's been getting sick again and again.

We have to take her to Michigan State so they can do surgery.

Oh my god..........................................

I don't care how much it costs. I want her to get better. She's my baby.


::edit::: The vet just called.

He said she doesn't actually have a cleft palate (my mom had called in the middle of the examination and that's what it looked like because there's abnormalities back there). She has some kind of virus that's making her throat/tonsils inflamed. There are 5 sores that are draining but healing. She has to be on an antibiotic for several weeks and she also has to eat food that basically has the texture of baby food.

My god...... this is SO MUCH BETTER news.

This sinus infection is kicking my ass. I'm so stuffed up I can't even blow my nose. It won't come out. D:

I have to work 3:30-9:30 tonight and 6:45-12:45 tomorrow morning. And there's no fucking way I can call in because there's literally no one that can will cover my shifts. Hopefully my customers will tolerate drugged-out Sam.

I hate my neighborhood, and it has nothing to do with the people.

I was awoken this morning by my dad telling me not to take a shower, flush the toilet, or run any water because our basement has water in it. D: Meaning, either there's a blockage of sewage (eeeeeewwww) or the stupid sugar maple's roots are at it again.

Bullshit!!! It's a good thing my grandma lives nearby or I'd be fucked.

I have to take LB to the vet tomorrow 'cause her mouth is bothering her (she'll cry out and drop her food). I've been trying to gently clean her teeth with a q-tip and she absolutely refuses to let me touch her mouth. I've been reading up on it and inflammation of the gums in cats can be either from buildup on the teeth or it's a side effect of another infection. :( Hopefully some antibiotic will clear it up.

Well. I'm awake so I should probably study for my chem exam.

Wow.

Not even hot sauce can redeem Wendy's chicken nuggets. They're obviously made of meat from the elusive Sponge Chicken. XD

Groooooooss. How do they expect people to eat TEN of these nasty things? I couldn't even eat five.
