Been to the doc's today and got signed off for another 2 weeks!!! Feck knows what's up with me? Blood test and throat swabs both came back inconclusive. The doc's got no idea what it is. So to all LJ peeps who may read this. Any old wives tales on remedies for a very painful sore throat and lack of energy/constantly tired?!?!?! Current Mood:  pissed off |

Been ill off work for about 4 weeks with a throat infection. Nothing seems to be shifting it. Had 2 lots of antibiotics which did 'jack'. Been for a blood test (I HATE NEEDLES!!!) which showed 'jack'. This week I've had swabs taken from my throat (yummy coton wool down the throat ... not). Hopefully this will be a bit more productive and show what's actually up with me. Lol ... I'm missing being at work!!! ----- Didn't mean for this to be a rant but reading it back I guess it's gone straight on one. Hope everyone's OK. Sorry if I've been a stranger of late, parenthood and illness has made me a hermit. Current Mood:  blah |

Got back from the inlaws yesterday minus the wife and child. They've gone to Norfolk to introduce Leon to his Great Granny. They were meant to be back before New Years Eve but it's now looking like they'll be back later in the week. Hmmmm ... Missing them already. Gonna crash out as I've got work in the morning. So this is parenthood Can't sleep, need to but just can't drop off.
Went for Leon's first lot of injections and a check up today. He was so peacefully asleep before hand and then we woke him up. He's just like his dad and hates needles big time. Though he seemed to settle quite quickly which was a relief. Popped into the breast feeding support thing with Tess on the way home. When we got in Leon was out for the count so we stuck him in the cot and grabbed an hour or 2 of sleep ourselves.
When he woke up he screamed the house down for ages only stopping when he ran out of breath. Only to start again when he'd caught his breath back. Gave him some calpol to help him out but it didn't seem to help initially. Hmmm ... It's really distressing when you can't seem to do anything to help a little one feel better. After a good 30 mins he calmed down which seemed twice as long.
At just over 9 weeks he's 2 ounce off 1 stone, which sounds really big. But he's just very long and not really that chubby, so it's all good. Lol ... Though carrying him around for extended periods of time can make the arms ache big time. Maybe it'll help tone my upper body a bit???
He's been grinning like a cheshire cat every day for the last week or so and having a chuckle every now and then. Though when he does chortle he startles himself as he's not expecting the sound. Everyday I learn something new about the little chap he's growing into and I love him to bits.
Some times it's hard to come to terms with the reality that I'm a dad. But I'd not swap this for anything in the world.
Lol ... Not even sleep.

Happy but tired. I started an update last Thursday but Leon started to cry for a nappy change and I've only just had a chance to get back online. All Leon seems to do is feed and poo. Sleep dep is a funny thing it makes everything seem to blur into one. ----------- Had the last of my dental work done this morning and feeling better that I've not got any more drilling to be done. Current Mood: good |

Ok ... I'm now a DAD!!! Eak ... Leon Scott was born at 1:33am on the 09/09/07. He was 8lbs exactly and a whopping 54cm long. :o) Leon needed a c section to come out so Tess will be in hospital for 5ish days. She's not really up to visitors at the moment but as soon as she is I'll let peeps know. Pic's to follow as soon as I work out how to get them onto the PC. Current Mood: ecstatic |

Just getting to the end of my second working week (or should that be weekend). Just got 5 hour to work between 4 and 9 tonight. Still having problems with sitting down for long periods. Works been ok about it and let me have 2 extra breaks when I'm on a 10 hour shift. So I'm working for an hour or two then having 15 min's to walk about and stretch which breaks up the day as well. Got just over 7 weeks to go before the little ones due and I'm starting to feel better about finishing what needs to be done on the house. The top room should be finished by Wednesday next week. Then we get the baby's room done. :) Can't wait to do that!!! OMG ... I'm really going to be a DAD!!!! Current Mood: excited |

Been stressing out that we won't get the house sorted before the baby arrives. Mum came over today and helped get some of the house sorted. She's also helped me de-stress a bit by chatting about the impending parenthood. I love my mum!!! Current Mood: happy |

Still off work with a bad back, signed off till the 19th. Should be ok to go back to work then. It's been almost 6 weeks!!! Lol ... As strange as this sounds I'm really missing going to work. I've had no structure to the week and found it hard to keep up with what day it is. Got all my plans for the baby's room sorted and the rest of the house. So as soon as I'm back to work will start cracking on with that. Current Mood: complacent |

Long time n not many updates.
Been staying in like a hermit and saving pennies so we can clear off debits before the baby arrives. Hopefully we've got that sorted out this coming pay day. :) So we can now start on the fun bit of converting the baby room and getting stuff for it.
Really want to know what it's going to be but then again it'd just be like knowing what a prezzy is before you open it. Lol ... Takes away some of the fun.
I will definately be out at the next SIN for the first time in ages so if anyone fancies meeting up it would be good. To make sure I do make it out I'm finishing early on the Saturday and I've booked Sunday off as well. :)

Chilling out tonight after working both bank holidays. Listening to a bit of Jamiroquai which I've not heard in ages. Think I may have to dig out the DVD of the Roma gig I've got somewhere abouts. Should be all angry and pissed off with public transport but I'm not. Finished work tonight at 9pm and went for the bus which didn't turn up ... but it's not worth getting stressed about. I got a nice suprise this morning. I managed to feel the baby move about when I had a cuddle with Tess!!! *bounce* Can't wait to be a dad.
