I am happy. Incredibly so. If we get to move to California, I might pee on myself. I know it won't be until this semester is over, but just thinking about maybe getting to go has me terribly excited. Things have been so up in the air with everything lately, and it's nice to have this even keel feeling.

My life has been full of upsets and moves and instability. This is a very, very amazing time for me. A home, a family of my own, doing things to better myself, and having a wonderful partner to share it all with. I mean, isn't that more or less the American dream, as it were?

Next on my agenda is to find some friends. I'd love to have some people to hang out with that are kid friendly!

Busy. Busy. Busy.

A starts daycare on Monday, and my semester starts then, too. I only have class from 8:45-12:45 on M/W, and from 8:30-1:30 on T/R. I'm pretty nervous about the daycare situation, but she NEEDS the socialization.

House needs to be super mega cleaned, and laundry needs to be non-existent by Sunday afternoon for me not to have a nuclear meltdown.

Last night was the perfect night for a concert. I'd never been to the Superpages.com Center, and it was a great venue. Dave and his band were absolutely phenomenal!!! So energetic and fun and .. it was about the best night I have ever had!!

My mom and I took Alex to the Fort Worth Zoo on Wednesday. It was at least 55 bajillion times better than the Dallas Zoo. I -will- be dragging my significant other there in the very neat future to work on my photography skills. Oh, and so he can see how cool Texas Town is! =)

Today at 4:15 I will be putting down my dog, Deon. This sucks. There are no words for how sad I am.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Oh, there are so many to choose from. Creatively? Beading and sewing. I love seeing things finished and getting the feeling of immediate gratification. Spiritually? I don't really know. I'd have to do way more thinking about that than I'm prepared for right now.
What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally? I have some major turn offs that apply to any arena of my life. I hate, hate, hate when people use poor grammar. (I had to backspace the 'e' out of grammar!), and smoking is just disgusting. I also hate it when people take someone else's work and claim it as their own.

I am absolutely fucking disgusted that these three idiots weren't, at the very least, stripped not only of their jobs, but also of the right to ever touch, much less carry a weapon, ever again. Had I been the judge, they would have have seen the light of day again.

Call me a conspiracy theorist if you may, but just another prime example of the shit hitting the fan.

I have just discovered Lenore Skenazy. I have no idea what the hell took me so long, but I love her. I would marry her just to have conversations with her nightly to get me away from the convoluted thinking that is perpetuated around me on a daily basis. I love people who aren't just afraid to say how god blessed dumb we, as a society, have become. Is there a place I can run away? There must be. Seriously. I am so tired of "teh dumb" that I almost can't bear it anymore.

In other news, I hate when I feel like someone is avoiding me because they don't think I can just take no for an answer. I don't like being yanked around. I mean, yeah, nobody does, right? Bullshit. There are people out there who enjoy being toyed with as much as people like doing the toying. It's fucking stupid. I'm just aggravated with everyone right now. Let's add to that my lack of sleep and I'm just pissy.

Dear Friends...

I can NOT find a fucking orange sweater or a red skirt anywhere. Here's the deal. I have the dorky black glasses and I want to be Velma for Halloween. Help?

I went roller skating for the first time today in, ohh, about 20 years. I had SUCH a great time. I totally forgot how much fun it was. Not roller blades, freaking ROLLER SKATES! It was a hell of a workout, man. Seriously! There is this thing called Strollerskate on Thursdays at Thunderbird in Plano. So, so, so much fun. A bunch of moms pushing strollers on roller skates. It was totally hilarious. I didn't get many pictures, unfortunately, as I was too busy trying to stay on my feet for the first half hour. I really need to go on some other days maybe without the stroller. Are any of you in my area roller skaters? They allow roller blades, as well. Anyone up for a skate date? Lemme know!

I also got back into shooting a few weeks ago. We went to visit my mom out in West Texas and shot the AR-15, the .22 and the .45. I didn't do as well as I'd like, but the last time I shot anything was back in .. March of 2006. I'll get back up to par very soon. I'm also pretty excited about the Castle Doctrine.  I still don't have a freakin' CHL for some reason.

I am very much around, but spend most of my time checking out topix.nrt or meetup.com. I have found a lot of neat groups of people to hang out with since I was abandoned by most of my local friends once I got pregnant/had Alexandra.

These balloons were right over our house this evening. The guy operating one of them was close enough to my front door for me to hear him say "Good Evening" to me when I waved. It was pretty awesome.

Just like the title says. Unused, still in factory box. Was purchased to be used in a custom hood project that never took off. Factory part.

I fell through the ceiling last weekend when we were up in the attic. Not all the way down, but enough to break my ass! lol. I have a small fracture in my hip and a gigantic big blue bruise on my butt!
