    Spelunker, Not A Caver
Ok, I know you have all been waiting with baited breath for me to update... which means you're all dead, lol, but here it is anyway.
Well, my mark job has changed again. For various reasons I chose to leave Fantastic Sams to go back to work in a spa. I am now working at Miss Vivian's Salon and Spa in Madison In. I was really nervous about starting a new job (I'm not real big on change, especially when it concerns money) but it seems my fears were completely misfounded as my new job totally rocks. Seriously. There is absolutely no stress, and as of my second week there I am already making just a bit less than what I was as a salon manager, not to mention that some of my numbers rival those of the most experienced techs at the salon. As I said I am not real big on change but this was one that was long overdue. It just sucks that my fear held me back for so long. Plus, I get to do hair, ear candling, facials (not that kind Vito!), manicures, and pedicures, all of which I love. Plus everyone I work with is great fun to be around, which is just the icing on the cake. Oh, and did I mention the entire salon is going to Las Vegas in January for the Redken Symposium, this huge hairshow they have at the Mandalay Bay resort every year. Too bad they closed the Sands a few years back, I would have loved to walked it there and said "Don't you know who I am?". On a side note, I finally got my hair done again, it can be seen from space, which means Mickey O'Dell will be able to navigate his way back to Madison soon with the Fat and the Furious.
This weekend my hubby and I celebrated our first anniversary and it was great. We went to Cave City, Ky for a little R and R and it was just what we needed. It's really the first time we have gotten away since coming back from Jamica last year, what with both our schedules being so hetic it's hard to plan anything. In fact, we didn't plan what we were doing until the night before. We stayed at this great little bed and breakfast called Serenity Hill which truely lived up to it's name. We were their only guests so there was no one there to spoil our weekend. Not to mention that the owners cooked like gourmet chefs. I'd never had a three course breakfast before but I have now. Besides the B&B we also went hiking, horseback riding, and we visited Mammoth Cave. Now not everyone knows this, but I am VERY afraid of heights. Now imagine my fear when the guide said just before we went "if you are afraid of heights, small places, or cannot climb large numbers of steps this tour is not for you". Well crap, that's me, two out of three. And he wasn't kidding. We had to decend over 300 steps just to get into the cave and there was more than a few places I had to shut my eyes to keep from freaking out on. I'm talking 200 ft drops with nothing between you and the hole but a handrail. But it was worth it, as it is everytime I go on a cave tour. I laughed at a woman behind me, who I overheard say "I am definely not a spelunker". All I could think to myself is yes you are, you are a spelunker, not a caver. A spelunker is someone who enjoys going to caves, a caver is an experienced spelunker who enjoys going to caves and trying to squeeze though a opening so small and muddy only a rat would consider going through, just because no one else is crazy enough to do it. Well, I made it though and I can't wait until I go back, next time I want to do one of the lantern tours.
AWA-Supreme is going great as always, all the guys there give 110%, expecially the Starr Alliance, lol. I heard today that our television producer is back in the hospitial, another heart surgury, so I hope he is ok. He looked a little out of sorts saturday.
Well, I better save some for the next time I update, which will probably be next year, lol.

    Keep dreaming about me. SSS*

    R.I,P. Eddie Guerrero 1967-2005
It's a sad day in the world of professional wrestling. We have lost another great star too early in life, in the pinnacle of greatness. I always enjoyed watching Eddie Guerrero, he always kept me entertained with his story lines and in-ring work. I was just saying the other day that I would love to see him as the champ again. Now I'll have to wait to see him win the HCW belt (Heaven Championship Wrestling), but at least I'll have a front seat. Viva La Raza!

In other news, I got a promotion at my mark job. Starting tomorrow afternoon I will be the manager of the Fantastic Sams in Jeffersonville Indiana. That's right, they finally gave me my own salon. It is located on 10th St / St. Rd. 62 next to the Kroger. Anyone in that area looking for a great hairstylist please come see me, you don't need an appointment, we just take walk-in's. The number for the salon is 812-283-0907. Be sure to ask for Kristy, they like to call me that so the wrestling paparazzi don't find out I'm working there and mob the place.

This Is A Test, This Is Only A Test....
After many messages from Maverick and X-Ray I have decided to once again grace you with my presence.

I went to a meeting for my day job yesterday in Louisville at the regional office. The guest speaker was a representative from the haircare company KMS. His name was Amedo. Amedo was an Italian stylist from Chicago who owns his own salon called Upstarts. Amedo cut and talked and cut and talked for about two and a half hours before one of our regional educators finally decided to stop him and call for a 10 minute break, at which time the 30 stylists in the room either dashed for the bathroom or the parking lot for a smoke. You see, Amedo forgot that all hairstylists are addicted to coffee, Mountain Dew, Coke, or cigarettes and if we don't get some kind of break at least once an hour someone is going to explode. But I digress. Anyway, as I'm watching this I'm thinking "wow, this guy is awesome, I bet he would be really cool to work with and ask about hair" because he has lots of energy and is just bouncing all over the place making jokes and doing some great hair. After the class one of the top dogs at the region throws me her keys and asks if I can drive him to his hotel since I had to hang out for another hour waiting for another meeting I have. "Sure" I respond excitedly, all the while thinking about all the questions I have for him, since I have recently starting thinking about doing education again. So he says his goodbyes and we leave. We get in a brand new Explorer and so, I try to strike up a conversation. It goes something like this: Me - "So how long have you been an educator?" Amedo - "I don't know, like 12 years, the last 8 with KMS" Me - "I used to work with a stylist who has been an educator for the past 20 years, for a year and a half I traveled all over Ky with her as her assistant in her salon and classes" Amedo - "That's nice" (insert sound of crickets chirping). And that was our conversation. I couldn't believe it. This guy went from 60 to 0 in less than 10 seconds flat. What a letdown. So now I'm thinking that either his exuberance is either an act, or he forgot to partake in one of the aforementioned vices. Oh well. One cool thing I did find out about him was that he has a lot of friends in Beverly Hills, one of which has a salon right down the street from the Jonathan Salon that is featured on the tv show Blow Out on Bravo. That show is the bomb!

I took this test today and I had to post the results just because it was so funny. I promise I did not try to get this result.

    EC 'FN W
Well, Draven and I went over to Nick Noble's house yesterday and watched the ECW ppv. All in all, for a reunion show I think it went pretty well. I never watched ECW when it was on in the 90's (I was too busy watching Two Dudes With Attitudes in WWF) but all the ECW fans that were there said it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be but it was still pretty watered down. What pissed me off was the promos. They were worse than Raw on a bad night. Nick's girlfriend and I went to DQ at one point, we were gone for a good 30 minutes, and all we missed was one match and three promos. Some of the shoots wern't too bad, like when Heyman said to Edge (a.k.a. the horse faced gremlin) "I've got two words for you: Matt FREAKIN Hardy". RVD did a shoot too, about how all he can say in WWE is crap like "cool" and "whatever". Of course, my favorite promo was Al Snow and Head, I really wish they would bring that gimmick back just so he could be on tv again. Draven was impressed that McMahan was able to get Joey Styles and Joel Gertner to work, but I guess enough money will make a dead man walk, like when Sabu came out for an inpromtu match vs Rhyno. Anybody else notice that even though Sabu went over he seemed as upset as Roger Blade when he shows up at a 24 hour blood bank that just ran out of 0 negative? Sabu was shoving Bill Alfonso, ripping signs out of the fans hands and screaming at them. Now, like I said, I didn't watch ECW when it was on but considering that Draven used to work with and knew Sabu when he was in ECW I took his word when he said that Sabu was acting even weirder than usual. Kid Kash was in the ring for a millisecond, which I hope is a sign that he will be showing up in WWE soon, or better yet SCW. I was even impressed with the Sandman and Tommy Dreamer (he's not fat anymore!) vs the Dudley Boys hardcore match which ended with a bloody Dreamer getting powerbombed though a flaming table. OUCH!!! One things for certain, I wish we could get our SCW fans as crazy over us as ECW fans still are over them. That would be great.
Well, that's all for now, keep dreaming about me. SSS*

    My hair
Well, I finally did it. I got a brand spanking new cut and color. I know a lot of people will hate it, but I like it, anything that gets me noticed is great and if this doesn't get me noticed, nothing will. So far the reaction has been that people either love or hate it. It is definitely the most shocking 'do I've had to date. I was in Walmart earlier and I was getting a kick out of seeing everyones reaction to it. Three people stopped me to tell me they loved it and to ask where I got it done (duh, I still had my smock on which has the company name and logo on it). So here it is, it is not exactly like my color, but the cut is similar.

Just surfing other journals I found this: http://www.98degrees.com/the_guys/bio_nick.html
Check out where he is from.

I'm not going to talk about wrestling today, I think everyone else will cover it in their journals, besides, I spent most of the night talking/trying to avoid being tazered by the Fat and the Furious and Mickey O'Dell. Those guys are a riot! *Note to BM, maybe that person who pissed you off last time was just having a bad night, he was his old self again last night.

Ever since I got back from Jamaica I have been thinking about going ahead and getting my SCUBA PADI certification. I heard there is an old stone quarry in Lagrange where you can pay $15 and dive. Anyone out there interested in getting certified with me? I don't want to do it by myself.

Things that make you go hmmm???
Ok, I wanna know, where has the morality of the people gone? Or has stupidity just become a rampant virus with no end in sight? Example number one. Say you go to an adult restaurant, some might even call it a sports bar. For the sake of argument let's say it's Hooters. It's loud, there are lots of drunks, and they are shouting obscenities at women who look like they are trying to squeeze themselves into their 5th grade gymnastics outfit (ok guys compose yourselves, lol) all while using their sexuality to garner as many leers and tips as they can. Is this really where you should take a little league team after the big game? I didn't think so, but apparently some of the parents thought it was a jim dandy idea, because there was a group of them in there when my fiance and I went tonight. I'm no prude but I was really shocked. I mean, these were little kids, like 8 or 9. An adult place like that is no place for a kid. I mean what's next, toting along little johnny to Trixie's for happy hour? Give me a break people and use some common sense. I know kids see alot on tv and all but really, can't we shield them and allow them to remain innocent for a little while longer? And if anyone is wondering, I am the one who always suggests we go there, they really do have the best chicken!

    What the..???
Ok, this is my first journal entry and I probably shouldn't get on here and start fussing right away... but I'm going to. In fact, I wasn't even going to start one of these things, but something happened yesterday that got me so mad, I just had to let it out somehow. First off, I am engaged (only 10 more days to go till we get married!) to another worker (wrestler) who for kayfabe's sake we will call Shawn. Shawn has been around this business for several years and been to alot of places that most people would only dream of going. He has now chosen to stay in one place and run the company that he started several years ago full time. Anywho, a worker that was at his show this weekend, who has only been in the business for a year and God only knows who trained him 'cause he lists like 20 people when you ask him (yes, I go off on tangents quite often), calls him up yesterday and starts questioning him about the show. Seems that he took offense that I and two of my clients (one of which was working him in the ring) started to make fun of his tights. First off, you should know that I and my associates are the "bad guys". Second, the guy was wearing bright orange, small brief tights, the kind a dear friend of mine used to call "grape smugglers". Being the bad guys, of course we poked fun of him. Sweet William Valentine, my associate in charge of putting a hurting on the guy for the night, told the ref he wasn't going to wrestle him until he put on some clothes. Apparently, this upset the worker so much he had to call my boyfriend and talk about it, and some other things, for about 10 minutes. I was getting madder and madder just hearing Shawn, who has been working for 13+ years, try to explain the business to him. I mean come on, if your trainer didn't explain the business to you, why are you still in it? Now, I know that in some people's eyes I'm "just a manager" but still, I think after 9 years and working with a lot of different people I have seen a lot of stuff go on, and I have learned a lot about respect. It just really gets me going when I see people who know a lot about in ring work but know nothing about when to keep your darn mouth shut! I'm not talking about just one or two people, I see alot of young workers who do this stuff. But, just like raising children, we must look farther to see where this started. It started with the trainers. We have too many trainers out there not doing their job. Tell your trainees when they do something wrong, make them do it again and again until they get it right, don't try to be their friend, because you will be doing the entire business a disfavor by letting them do it half right. Tell them to shut up. Teach them the locker room ettique (I know I spelled that wrong) that everyone should know. Teach them to look to the guys that have been in it 10+ years for guidance,, there is always someone who can teach you something. And last of all, make them earn their keep. Remember when the green guys and trainees had to do ring crew, clean the arena, put flyers all over town, bark tickets, ect.? I had to do it, and I'm "just a manager". I did all those things for a year before the promoter would even talk to me about training, just to prove that I was committed to the business. And I am better for it. It made me appreciate this business even more, because I had to work for it. Just think about the kid who has to work his butt off for six months to buy his first beater car, vs the rich kid that is given a BMW for his 16th birthday, who is going to cherish that car more. Just something to think about. Whew, that was a lot for the first post, I better give myself a couple of days to get worked up again. Ok, I'm off to my day job!
