| Google is going to love blogs more |
[Jan. 18th, 2006|08:26 am] |
Getting away from computer wallpaper pictures for a minute (because we haven't been anywhere to take any since San Simeon (below)), I just wanted to point out that I have a blog about small business blogging, and another about how blogs can help your web site get higher search engine rankings, and I'd hope that any small business owners who stumble upon this would go check it out.
Because Google's most recent update to how it ranks sites includes changes in the value of links found within fresh, often updated content (read: blogs), links from blogs will also be more valuable now. That's one reason why I encourage small business owners to get a blog. There are many other reasons, like better contact with customers, showing first time web site visitors that you care enough about them to post something once a week, and helping customers with problems by using the blog as a kind of customer support knowledge base. |

| Santa Barbara and San Simeon Pictures for Desktop Wallpaper |
[Nov. 24th, 2005|03:52 pm] |
We took a weekend trip up to Santa Barbara and San Simeon, and took these great scenic photographs of the California coast for you to use as your desktop wallpaper picture or web page background. These pictures make great live journal backgrounds.
Hearst Castle in San Simeon California is a truly amazing place, constructed by William Randolph Hearst in the 1920s. The 80,000 acres of functioning ranch surrounding the castle are preserved as a state park in their original state, along California's beautiful central coast. |

Katrina Proves Liberals Were Right All Along
Yup. Ignore poverty and it gets worse. Cut programs that help people, and they die. But, hey, it's not your problem, right? Well, fine, but when you say that, you stop being a Christian. So, switch parties or switch religions, because you can't have it both ways. |

| Great Waterfall Wallpaper Picture |
[Apr. 9th, 2005|06:43 am] |
|
We're in upstate New York, and we took a little side trip to Platte Clove in the Catskill Forest Preserve. Up near the top of the seasonal road, which was not officially open yet, is an artist's refuge home maintained by the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development. Just below that house is a beautiful waterfall that I climbed down to get a good waterfall wallpaper picture. You can find it, and many other great Catskills pictures, on our Catskills wallpaper page. |

| Winter Wallpaper and Winter Backgrounds from New York |
[Feb. 20th, 2005|05:41 pm] |
Robin just got home from a trip back east, where she took some great winter wallpaper pictures of upstate New York. She was in Woodstock for her Uncle George's 80th Birthday party and got some great shots of the local Woodstock woods. Then she went up to Cherry Valley, where her sister and brother and law run the Rose and Kettle restaurant. Robin got some more winter wallpaper pictures while snow shoeing on a sunny day.
Enjoy these free wallpaper pictures, and if you need to think warm thoughts, remember that we have all kinds of Hawaii pictures. |

| Winter Wallpaper Scenes and Winter Backgrounds |
[Feb. 6th, 2005|03:54 pm] |
Check out these winter backgrounds and winter wallpaper scenes taken by Robin Supak in Big Bear, California. Our friend Vince has a Big Bear vacation rental cabin up there, and while Robin was skiing circles around me, literally, I gave her the camera and asked her to leave me alone on the bunny slope. These are great snow pictures of the Bear Mountain ski resort ski slopes, and you can set yourself up for a nice California ski vacation while you're there. |

[Jan. 9th, 2005|09:56 pm] |

My son, Spencer Supak, took some great pictures last summer of American muscle cars in Cherry Valley New York, where his Aunt and Uncle run the Rose and Kettle Restaurant. These car wallpaper pictures are of classic American muscle cars, and are sized to fit your computer desktop. While you're visiting Spencer's car wallpaper and car backgrounds site, we hope you'll click a few google ads, maybe buy some car posters and motorcycle posters too, you know, to help Spencer's college fund. |

| It's the lies, Stupid. |
[Nov. 29th, 2004|09:11 am] |
I just responded to this post at New Partisan:
The point is well taken by this liberal, who realizes that Kerry couldn't get out from under the Republican lies. Republicans know they can't win on issues arguments, so they lie and obfuscate. They made it a question of Kerry's character, yes, and Kerry played right into it. But the blame is less on Kerry for trying to continue arguing nuance and issues, and more on Bush who refused to answer questions, who refused to argue issues, and who lied, lied, lied, all the way home like the little piggy he is.
The big lie obviously is that Iraq is part of the war on terror. The little lies helped a lot too, like, "want some wood" in response to criticism of his tax cuts, or, "net increase in wetlands," or "clear skies initiative." How about "fight them there so we don't have to fight them here." That's just stupid, frankly, and the fact that it was spread more in red states says a lot about these places, where, like Bush, the majority reject evolution.
So, to hear people blame Kerry is really kind of a joke, when we all know who's to blame: A Republican party that lies and cheats--how about the fliers in a couple of states that said Kerry wanted to ban the Bible? In Ohio on election day, there was a BIG LIE phone call by Republicans acting like Democrats begging the voter to get out and vote for Kerry so he could make Gay Marriage legal. Remember, contrary to what the partisan above says, the election was decided by 136,000 voters in Ohio. I'm sure there were at 136,000 anti-gay-marriage voters in Ohio. And, it's conceivable that that many were convinced by the Republican lies and cheating. So, wouldn't it be the Bush lies that decided it?

| computer wallpaper free backgrounds Simpsons posters Hawaii vacations organic gardening |
[Nov. 20th, 2004|10:14 pm] |
I know it's a mouthful, but it's my site: computer wallpaper free backgrounds Simpsons posters Hawaii vacations organic gardening. It's been around since 1996, and it's collected a lot of cool stuff. For instance, we have a way cool Simpsons page, with free Simpsons backgrounds, free Simpsons sound clips, and other cool stuff like Simpsons posters, Simpsons toys, Simpsons books, and Simpsons DVDs. We have great pictures of Hawaii, Italy, New York City, Hollywood California, and more that all make great livejournal backgrounds.
My environmentalist blog has all kinds of environemntal news and warnings about the religious fanatics who want to bring about the end of the world. No, not the Muslim terrorists. I'm talking about the Bush administration. I also have a great list of Bush quotes, or Bushisms, on a page all about Dubya.
Also along the environmental angle, I still operate the world's oldest organic gardning web site. I started posting organic gardening hints and advice on line in 1994!
I also built a big site about Hawaii with all kinds of information, shopping, and free downloads to enjoy Aloha from your desk.
And finally, I do search engine optimization. If you'd like to make your site win on the searches for your keywords, visit Bald Mt. Press today!
