Yeah, okay, okay, I said I was going to be back the day of my ultrasound but I've been tired and sore and panicking about getting stuff done. Sue me. :P

We still don't have a name and I am now getting induced at 38 weeks NOT 39 like previously thought. My doctor can't seem to make up his mind. He's written 38 weeks in my maternity record book now though so I guess 38 weeks is the plan for sure. Just need to get an actual day out of him. So it looks like I'll have Cheech here in just over 2 weeks. *blink* I'm not ready! O.o

On Thursday I had my 19 week ultrasound. Everything is going perfectly. I'm starting to not mind being pregnant so much now that the nausea has eased off a lot. That was really the only reason I hated it for so long!
We asked the lady doing the ultrasound to have a peek and tell us the sex.

Let's see. I'm boring so this'll probably be hard.
1. Alex is my first and only boyfriend, ever. He's the only guy I've ever been with and while as a teenager I longed for a guy to be interested in me and I had my fair share of crushes I'm glad it took so long. It's corny but he's my soul mate. <3
2. I don't really talk much about it but I hate, hate, hate animal cruelty and animal abuse. I'm a hippy at heart and Alex and I have had many fights about it too (the animal part). He's a farm boy and a shooter. I used to go shooting with him on his dad's farm but I know I never will again. I just can't do it. I'm picky about what I buy in terms of cosmetics, body care and cleaning products too. They MUST be cruelty free. My mum bought me a bottle of shower cleaner when we moved into our new house and it's still sitting under the bathroom sink untouched as it's not cruelty free. (nissajade, don't tell Ma!) I do feel guilty but I just can't make myself use it. And yes, our shower still gets cleaned. :P
3. I have not been enjoying being pregnant! It's certainly made me think twice about having any more kids. I've heard many people tell me how much they loved being pregnant and I swear they must be lying. Either that or they've just forgotten what it's like.
4. Speaking of being pregnant, this one was planned. Very planned. Alex didn't want to get married cause it's such a big commitment but he was fine about making a life together. Yeah, I still haven't got my head around that one either. So this is what we did instead of getting married. We will get hitched one day though.
5. When I was little I ran away to home. I used to sleep over a lot of friend's houses but I got terrible homesickness each and every time so I usually ended up going home before the next morning. This one instance my friend and her mum wouldn't wake up to take me home like I wanted to so packed my bag, left a note for my friend and then walked home. We had a spare key under the house so I used that and put myself to my own bed. I slept fine the rest of that night. I'm surprised I didn't get a whopping the next day but I scared the crap out of my friend's mum.
Yep, boring. I now tag you to do it. If you want, I don't care!

Alex took the day off on Friday and we decided to go to Floriade. It happens every spring but this time was the 3rd time we've been since being together. When we went in 2001 I met his parents for the first time there (and it also included his aunt and uncle. I was so nervous. lol) and we went in 2002 but it was a horrible day. Very cold. But Friday was absolutely gorgeous so I'm going to do a a photo post (which is what I really only do when I update here anyway). We took WAY more than what I'm posting (it's fun having two cameras!) but these are the ones that stand out the most to me.

Alex is my hero. lol He bought me a flat screen LCD monitor! *grin* It's going to take a little getting used to cause it totally reminds me of a laptop screen (me no likey laptops) but it's purdy and it's 19". Woo!
He's reinstalling my computer at the moment. My motherboard went bye-bye so had to get a new one but I also decided to get a new case and a spiffy 320GB hard drive. *doublegrin* So looking forward to having my computer back...Alex's keyboard sucks. heh.
Not much to report really. Nothing that interesting has been happening.
- My parents have been here for a week - they left about 6 hours ago.
- My niece Samantha turned 1 on Wednesday! I can't believe it's been that long already. My other niece is going to be 5 in September! O.o
- I've almost completed my Certificate II in IT. Thinking about taking another course just need to choose which one out of 4 I'm interested in.
- Magick is shedding like crazy. There's a patch of carpet under the curtain where he likes to lay during the day which that gets completely grey form his fur. Thank god for vacuum cleaners.
- Astin's still a cat. Which is good.
- I'm happy that we're 2/3 of the way through winter. I am hanging out for Spring!
- Sold a heap of stuff on eBay the other week. If my computer hadn't have died I would have been able to enjoy the money I made but eh, shit happens I guess.
- Oh! Alex got a new job! He'll be a BA for Medicare. Hasn't started yet. He will be in 10 days. He's very excited. :)
That's about all I can think of for now. I'll end with a photo of Magick that makes me giggle every time I see it. :)

Traveling - I love to travel and I have done so all my life. I think I've spent half my life in a car going somewhere whether it's to another state to go camping, going down the coast, going back 'home' for Christmas or even just traveling to and from where I live as I used to live out of town and took a while to get to school or the shops.
Toast - I had the best toast ever, once. nissajade was there and knows what I'm talking about.
The USA - Yeah, I know, I'm cheating with this one. :P I've been obsessed with America for as long as I can remember. I lived there for a year but don't remember any of it due to being only 6 months old at the time. All I want to do is to go there. I'd love to spend at least a year there. I'd also love to live there at some point.
Tree Hugging Hippy Crap - Yup, I'm into all that sort of stuff. I like the natural alternative to things. I don't eat meat. I'm totally against animal testing. Animal cruelty makes me sick. You get the idea. I haven't hugged a tree though...lately. ;)
Technology - With the above having been said, I like technology. I practically live on my computer. I like fancy shiny things with lots of buttons and lights.
TV - I watch it. I like it. I don't watch it all the time though. I only have a few shows I MUST watch and most of them I download anyway. Yeah.
Trains - This used to be my absolute favourite thing as a kid. Whenever there was a train around my parents would always point it out to me "Look! A train!". I haven't been on a train since 1998 (not including the ones in Melbourne...they don't count. :P) and that was when I went and saw the Smashing Pumpkins in Sydney with a friend of mine from school.
Thunder - Love thunder but it can really scare the crap out of me too! I have a fond memory of sitting with freddcowman on the huge water tank at one of our old houses watching a storm roll in. It was nice because he actually didn't mind me being around. lol (this was while we were both teenagers and who wants their little sister hanging around??)
Teeth - I have horrible teeth. I probably should have had braces but I refused cause I knew my parents couldn't afford it at the time. Hey, they're just teeth right? I always figured one day I'll have them all pulled and just get dentures. That way I'll have the perfect smile I've always wanted. I should also get my fake tooth replaced one of these days too. Managed to break one of my front bottom teeth in half when I fell off my bike as a kid and smacked my chin on the road. I remember that day so clearly. I thought my mother was going to kill me! She didn't though, obviously.
True Love - We have our moments but it's Alex. I know this. 'Nuff said.
Eh, not that exciting I know but "T" was hard for me. I'm surprised I got 10.

Was in bed all day today with a migraine. Well, not a typical migraine...it's just the really bad, intense pain like someone ramming a screwdriver into my head...no aura and I wasn't sick (yay!) but it's still just as bad. I haven't had one of them for ooh, not since last year I don't think. Sure I've had headaches but not the really debilitating ones that I get. I'm wondering if it's iron related. *sigh* I've been feeling mega tired again the last few weeks. Guess it's back to the doc for me to get tested and back to the vitamin store to get me some iron pills. Blah. Stupid bodies.
So now that I slept all day today, I'm awake now. I still have a mild headache but I can handle mild.
My mum's entries in her LJ while she's been away in America has made me start to worry about all the food over there. I mean, are meals really as big as what she describes them to be?? Don't get me wrong, I like to eat when it's actually something I like but the amount of food she says is served for each meal...it's just scary!
Astin goes back to the vet on Thursday to have her stitches out. I keep forgetting she's even got them and I think so does she. It hasn't phased her at all.
Magick is Mr Grumpy-Pants of late. We're going to work on a new cage for him this weekend. We've kinda got it planned out and I think it's going to end up being the Taj Mahal of all rabbit cages. O.o Still, he needs his space when he is locked up as he's a big bunny. I think the main reason he's so grumpy at the moment is because he's too small for his current cage. But he's only in that over night. I set up his puppy pen (er, bunny pen?) out the back each day.
OH! I totally keep forgetting about this. I won a microwave! Last week there was a ticket in the letter box from Take 5 saying there was something to be picked up at Hume. Alex picked it up on the way home from work that day and when I went out to the car to see what it was I cracked up. Of all the things to win! We already have a microwave and we like it just fine. Not sure what we're going to do with the new one though. We haven't even opened the box. Don't even know what it's worth either. But yay, I won something!
Alex and I went and saw Ice Age 2 on Saturday night. We loved it. I think it's much better than the first one. So funny. :)
Guess I'll go roam eBay for a while.

I just got done watching 'Cursed'. When did Christina Ricci get hot?? Okay, granted I don't think I've seen any of her movies from the last few years or so so I still kidna think of her at the age of 'Mermaids' or 'Now and Then'. I liked the movie though. Made me jump a few times (I'm not a jumper!) and was funny in bits too. I think it might be own-worthy. Scott Baio though - whoa.
I made a spinach quiche today. This is why I don't like cooking. Nothing I make really ever turns out the way I want it to! Next time though I'm buying a premade pie crust. Yep. But it was still yummy and Alex wolfed it down so I guess that meant it was okay.
My parents are currently in Florida at the moment. Mum's been updating her LJ that nissajade set up for her. Sounds like they're having a great time. Being total Aussie's. Makes me proud! They went to Disney World! I just hope I get a souvenir! ;)
Astin went to the vet yesterday. Over the past year a growth on her chin had been getting bigger and bigger. Turned out to be a cyst and it's now sitting on our kitchen bench in a specimen jar. I know, ew right? It's actually kinda cool to look at in that so-gross-but-can't-stop-looking-at-it kinda way. Apparently Alex bought it home so I could see what they cut out (I didn't go to the vet, Alex dropped Astin off and picked her up before and after work for me). She looks so different though in the face. She's practically got no chin! She has to go back tomorrow night for a check up just to make sure she's doing okay then she has to go back in 10 days to get the stitches out. She also got vaccinated which she was due for and today she spent the day on top of the washing machine (her bed) and it made me think of when she was vaccinated last year and spent the next 24 hours under the table upstairs. She must have been feeling pretty sorry for herself. But then I would too also if I had something cut out of my chin! She got up about 2 hours ago and wanted to go outside. She's moving pretty slow though which I'm not suprised about.

These were taken 2 weekends or so ago. Never had cockatoo's at our place before but the tree out the front have these kind of berries on them and it turns out the cocky's love them so we had a few visitors for a while. Haven't seen them since that weekend though.

My parents have been in the air all day. I *think* they're still in the air as I type this but I'm not entirely sure. If they aren't then they haven't been on the ground for long. I can't believe they're in America! Still wish I could have gone too but I'm so very happy and excited they even got to go. nissajade created an LJ for my mum who requested a blog. Jen showed how to make and delete an entry, I typed out step by step instructions for mum to print out and take with her. Hey, while I think it's cool that my mum is even online and even chats on ICQ, it does take her a little while to get a hold of something. :P I just hope my dad doesn't decide to take over things from her. He's capable of doing that!
We have a house inspection on Tuesday. Astin is going in to the cattery tonight and then we're taking Magick over to freddcowman and jordana_'s to get him out of the way too. You know, the pets we don't have...
After catching a story on A Current Affair a few weeks ago about the treatment of cows for meat I have since become vegetarian. I had to look away after seeing about 10 seconds of it and I was almost in tears. For a few months now I've been put off eating red meat anyway (it's something about the texture. Totally made me feel ill) so it hasn't been that hard to say no to meat. At the moment I am still eating chicken on the rare occasion and as I'm hardly a cook (Alex does all the cooking!) I need to plan meals and plan what to stock up on. I need to keep things interesting for Alex's sake too. He's not giving up meat and I'm not going to even try to make him but he has agreed to try some vegetarian dishes.
I think I've come to the realisation that I am a total hippy at heart. It's not just the vegetarian thing either. I know I'm gonna get made fun of for this by my family but I don't care! :P
Magick got neutered 2 weeks ago. I caught him trying to hump Astin so I immediately got on the phone and called the vet and booked him in. he came through it perfectly fine and was hopping around as if nothing had happened that same night! He did try to come onto Astin again about 2 days after the operation but I haven't seen him do it again since. So fingers crossed it's all over with.
We got new-to-us couches about 3 weeks ago. Alex's mum and stepdad got a new couch and wanted to know if we wanted their old ones. They're like 20 years old or something but you wouldn't know it. SO comfy and they have low/none (it's weird to describe) arms so we can stretch out on them without getting cricks in our necks. We took the old couches over to Alex's mum's place and put them on the kerb outside of their house as they were having a hard rubbish pick up. I wish Canberra did that!
Not much else to tell. I have some photos to post which I'll do next week. Or not. Depends if I remember. ;)

I just witnessed a cat fight like what you see in old cartoons. Tails everywhere, paws in the air. Bam, Kapow, Biff!
The black cat that I've complained about before is still hanging around nearly everyday. I have Magick out in the back yard in a makeshift cage today and when I heard Astin give a yowl I knew the black cat was here. Alex and I turn the hose on it whenever it's here. Makes it run away for like 5 minutes but it's better than nothing. It's the most stupidest cat ever. It KNOWS it's gonna get wet everytime it comes here but that doesn't deter it. *sigh*
So, I went out the back ready to get the hose out and turn it on. I did and it runs to just over behind the little embankment thing that lines the edges of the back yards here. Anyway, it runs behind it, and stops. Then Astin RUNS at it and that's when the fight happens. I see tails, I hear yowling, I see the black cat stand on its hind legs, paws drawn up and pounce on Astin! I ran back inside to get some shoes on and then dragged the hose out further behind the embankment and give it a blast one more with water. I don't know where it is now but I'm sure it'll be back later in the evening. Damn cat. And damn Astin too. She's the one that started the fight!!
And Magick during all this? Sacked out stretched on the ground in his cage chomping on some grass.
