	Courtesy of http://www.trolleybus.net, I've located these fab "then and now" shots of where I live. The first one was shot in 1962, way before my flat was built, when electric trolleybuses hummed along the streets. The second shot was taken from the same spot in 1999, where my street turns in to the left from the spot where the picture was taken.

Yeah, it's amazing how much has changed in my particular spot. I found the "then" picture before the "now" picture, and found it very hard to work out where it was taken.

I noticed something funny the other day that made me realise that after all those years abroad, you're still fundamentally English, and always will be...

You used the word "arse" and not "ass"! :)

Cool, I like seeing how places have changed. I have a big wooden box under my desk at home full of slides that my Dad took of Cornwall in the '50s and '60s. I have a project in mind to go around and try and find the exact same spots to take photos from now and display them together. Unfortunately some of them have gone quite mouldy from being stored in the loft at our old house until I found them. I have a slide scanner to bring them into the PC but I need to find a good way of removing the mould without destroying the slides.

I'm sure I read something about cleaning slides - there's a chemical you can use, but I can't remember what it is.

You might be better off scanning them quick before they deteriorate too much, and then doing a bit of digital restoration.

Good luck with it - sounds like a great project. I love old photographs.
