I may tweak with this one more before posting on the verse, but for better or worse, this is what I've got.

Lots of the cool people have done absolutely incredible vids to this song, but hopefully not this version of the song. (which I just heard recently) Honestly, just hearing it makes you want to roll up in a ball and cry.


Spike, for all his hiding behind snark and humor, is a beautiful tragic figure.. He's always growing, always learning, always changing.

I know I'll never love another character like this one.

The song is Hallelujah, and this version (of this drop dead gorgeous song) is done by kd lang..

    Aw, darn! Now you almost made me faint! I had to clasp my hand all over my mouth to not wail all high-pitchy--and I accidentally held my nose too! It took me forever to realize I could actually remove my hand, and by then I was all dizzy! Are ya tryin' to kill me?

    Also? Now my basement is flooded--all because of YOU! You are evil! Evil I tells ya!

    Hey, my name is Lyndsay and I know you don't know me or anything but I am also a huge Spuffy fan. I want to start making Spuffy videos also. I tried to yesterday but I don't know how to get the Spuffy scenes in.. in the first place. I'm aware that you have to put the DVD in but I don't know how to get the clips in my windows movie maker. So can you please maybe help me and tell me how?

    By the way, your videos are always wonderful !

      Okay, first of all what do you have to make movies with? I don't get mine off of DVD, I use WinMX and download the episodes, among other things.

      Now, if you want to rip DVD's, you'll have to ask someone else, I don't have a clue.

    Really lovely vid.

    And I have to admit, that when I made up and burned a CD while writing Spike fanfic, I have that EXACT song on it... except it's the Jeff Buckley version. :)

    Oh my God...I officially worship you in an "Oh my God, I am now SO DEPRESSED!!!" sort of way...that song is Spike, through and through. I've heard it before, but I never really noticed the line "It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah". It completely describes Spike's transformation, in a lot of ways. Wow, I'm so sad =( Poor, poor Spike--he really needs a hug.

    All my whining about how depressed you made me is my way of saying wonderful vid!

    I have never heard this version and it was so beautiful.


    Once again sweetie you have done a most wonderful job with some of the most memorable scenes. It rips at my heart strings when I see them all together.
    And it makes you realise that Spike came a long way in the Buffy verse and made a big impact on a lot of people. *Hugs* :)

    Eh. That's a perfect Spike song, and you have some very nice moments, but it doesn't really hang together for me yet.

        Hmmm. I don't have any really useful suggestions. The Glory fight didn't seem to fit the words, for example.

          Oh thank gawd, I was afraid you were going to say the Riley part. (which is really the part that I'm having most problems with)

          The Glory part absolutely fits for me and I can't change that.. It's an abstract--in that she was "On the roof" (all of them looking up) She jumped into the light (the sun) and the beauty of the sacrifice was really the thing that cements the whole vid together. This is why we had EVERY NIGHT I SAVE YOU, and why Buffy could smile after his sacrifice in CHOSEN.

          Maybe that will help you.

    Hohhhhhh boy. I absolutely adore this song. Have a vid to the version by Rufus Wainwright(?) - I think that's his name... and it's a doozy, so I'm sure you're going to be picking up my hysterical, mangled corpse here pretty soon ;)

          Oh girl, there are SO MANY great vids with that song. (that's why I mentioned it) Karen from the vidding website Beloved Temptation does the best I've seen.

          I just heard the kd lang version and it put tears in my eyes. She puts so much emotion into it.
