Semi-Friends Only? Say Word!
My journal is officially Semi-Friends Only. Non-offending material like photos, random posts, etc. will continue to be public, but to get to the juicy stuff, you have to be a friend. How do you get on the list? Easy. Just add me, and comment in an entry to let me know who you are (any entry will do). It's a mutual thing: It'll let me know exactly who's reading what, and you get some exciting drama on your friend's page.
What's the point? Well, my livejournal used to consist mostly of peer-friendly material. Friends-only posts seem too much of a hassle, and I'd prefer not to have the whole diary locked incase someone wants to just look at my pictures. Well, I've finally decided to have faith in the livejournal database server (and hope it won't mysteriously crash, resulting in my journal being lost). The solution that seemed to work best is to protect the entries that may offend some, and keep all the rest open. Besides... *flips hair*... friends only journals are sooooo trendy.
Unlike other people, I'm not hiding my journal from anyone in specific. It's more of a need to just know who is reading my journal. I'm not one of those stuck-up users who'll only add you if they "think you're worthy". Just a simple comment will do. And, if you'd rather lurk, by all means - I won't stop you. I don't know about you though, but entries with drama are a WHOLE lot more exciting than entries without
