Ha, see, I told you I would put these up tonight! So, I think these ones pretty much sum up our trip. Under the cut because they are pretty big and there's quite a few. Apologies to dial-up users, I know how you feel as I am one myself. I did have 150, but it takes so long to upload them and then resize them, and like I said, these ones sum up the trip.
Yes, I can hear you asking where the New Caledonia photos are, and my answer is, in the next entry. And by that I don’t mean next week’s, I plan on doing two entries tonight, because a standard Spaci-length entry, plus a tonne of photos is a REALLY big entry. So, I’m doing two. The first one is my run-0f-the-mill day-in-the-life-of-Spaci entry.
I managed to wear my contacts all day today, I’m very proud. I should be able to wear them to school next week and surprise peoples.
In other news, I went to see my drama school/theatre company’s production of Bugsy Malone today. It’s basically this gangster show performed by kids ranging from 8-17 years. I really wanted to audition, but mum wouldn’t let me, seeing as the performances clashed with the School Certificate. The fact that about ten other kids in my class/year were also in the show did not matter to her.
Anyhow, so it was really, really fantastic. I wanted to see my friend Eloise as Tallulah, but unfortunately she was only in the swing in today’s performance. She’s playing Tallulah tonight. Not to say that the girl playing Tallulah today wasn’t good, she was great, but still, it’s fun seeing your friends. Matt Knox was Dandy Dan, the leader of the rival gang, and he was a classic. He did the stereotypical “Gangster Baddy” accent, the kind that says “Git t’woik” instead of “Get to work.” And he looked quite spiffy in his white suit. Then at the end, because it was his last show, he was really overexcited, when I asked him if he’d sign my program, he’s like, “OF COURSE I WILL!!!!” then he gets it and he goes, “NOW, SHALL I SIGN IT NEAR MY NAME OR MY PICTURE?!” and when I said whatever, he’s like, “MY PICTURE!!!” So he signed it next to his picture.
And, omigosh, SPLURGE GUNS are the coolest. They shoot foamy stuff and if the completely harmless foamy stuff hits you you die. Then the Grim Reaper comes out playing the violin and leads you off stage. The splurge guns were part of the reason I wanted to be in the show in the first place. But it looked like so much damn fun.
There was this scene where Blousy thought Bugsy had stood her up, and she was singing this sad song about dreams falling through and heartbreak and that sort of stuff, and on the backdrop they were projecting all these photos of her and Bugsy that were aged black and white to look 1930’s, and they were in costume, but they photos had been taken in a park somewhere, near a river, and they were sooooo cute!!!! They were a really cute couple, and the photos were posed heaps prettily. Technically speaking, Bugsy had stood her up, but he made up for it. He’d promised to take her to Hollywood and that’s where they’d been going, but he got mugged and lost the money to buy the tickets, so he kinda stood her up and went and got some more money, but then she thought he was double-crossing her with Tallulah, when it wasn’t like that, but he made it up at the end when he pulled two tickets to Hollywood out of his pocket.
And Brayden, who is only about 11, played Fat Sam, the other gang leader, and he was so fantastic. He’s a little pudgy guy, and heaps cute, and omigosh, he was FUNNY!!! Especially when he threw the contents of his cocktail glass in Cameron’s face.
So overall, I think I can safely say I enjoyed the show. :) It’s just annoying that this is one of those shows that next time there’s a production, I’ll be too old to do it. :(
Anyhow, that’s the only newsy stuff I’ve got for today, onto New Caledonia photos!!!
Spaci!
I FOUND MY CAMERA!!!!!
It was in the top drawer of my chest of drawers, with all my scarves and gloves. Coz that is the natural place to put your camera.
It had some really silly movies that I made of my niece Maddy while she was staying up here. I'm thinking of sending them to her so that my sister will put them on and crack up. And then Maddy will be embarrassed.
There's also an ultra-glamourous one of me just after I have fallen off my bed in my pyjamas.
The School Certificate is finally over. The Geography exam was really ick, I hadn't done any of the long answer worth 15 marks work in class, so I basically made up my answer, and will probably fail. I just hope that SimCity 3000 Unlimited has its facts right, because I was talking about zoning as part of my answer, and the only stuff I know about zoning I learnt off SimCity. But apart from that, it was all good. I didn't quite finish the maths paper, but I think I did well enough that it won't really matter. I did prick myself in the finger with a staple, and it started bleeding, but I sucked on it for a bit and it was okay. It's still a bit sore though.
All afternoon, I've kept thinking, "All right, in a few minutes I will get up and do my homework" and then I remember I have none, and won't until the end of January, when I start back. If I get any over the next few days, I'm not going to do it. I refuse. Three more formal days of Year 10, I'm not that much of a nerd.
So I've been spending all my new found leisure time slowly but surely updating my Doctor Who website, which was started about three years ago, and might finally be open by Christmas, if I motivate myself. I mean, I've been making the excuse for months, I'll have heaps of time after Year 10. I'll update it then. So I might as well keep true to my word.
I'm also making a New Caledonia scrapbook, coz mum is going to take me to the last three of her scrapbooking classes, and then Aunty Jen is going to take me to one of hers, I'm going to stay at Aunty Jen's a couple of days so that should be enough to get me started. Which reminds me, I should post some photos of the trip up here, as you guys have pretty much heard nothing about it, coz I was more excited about the email that was waiting for me from Damo when I got home, and so instead posted about that. lol. Next entry will be NC photos, I promise. :D
I have to work on Thursday, which is kinda sucky, because I've been using the SC as an excuse and haven't been in for a month. It's not that I don't like work, it's just that there are much better things I could be doing with my time.
Anyhow, coz I couldn't resist:
( Photos! )
Anyhow, good night all. I may have no homework, but I still have school, which involves getting up early. I have a pool/pizza party tomorrow which has been organised for the people who were in the school concert.
