After the last campaign ended I had been rpg starved our attempts to start another d&d campaign failed that is until Pablito a good DM friend of us agreed to run for us a campaign.
the list of players include Pablo DM Alex creepy psionic construct girl Adrian rogue kid Gorak warblade Miriam Cleric of Savras Adriana Swashbuckler (greedy)
the first session we managed to avoid combat but the second I was very close to death, to the point of starting to look for a spare character sheet.
so fun times ahead next session 21 days from now +- |

Some friends of mine have very identified animals they like for example Gurzon with the bear and Alex with the coyote which had me thinking of which if any is an animal I identify myself with.
I have to say the wolf is the one I identify closes with.
Loyal until death. Cunning fighter even if it's not the animal with the biggest teeth or claw It loves being in a pack. it very adaptable to different environments.
so what's the animal you identify the most with? |

I did it again
I stopped posting for quite a long time, I blame recent changes where I had to leave my comfortable place at the HP office in santa fe and was relocated to ferreria which even if it's much closer to home (20 minute travel) it doesn't feel as comfortable as there.
I took a trip to canada watched the niagara falls and did some light shopping I have to say I enjoyed it greatly it's definitely a place where I would like to live with my family in the future.
Latest trip was to acapulco for a wedding it was a very quick one weekend only so I didn't have time to take much pictures.
well hopefully I'll be posting more often now. |

This past weekend we broke our piggy bank (literally a piggy) with the change we went hunting for x-mas decorations and eventually settled to craft some of our own which was very gratifying as I know there won't be another one that looks like it.
we took the provision of separating all the change into easily verifiable bags with tags like 100$ and 200$ the cashier only had to check the first bag before trusting that what we said was accurate.
but on the other hand my mother in law suffered an extortion attempt someone called her claiming to be her son and that he was kidnapped, fortunately even though he lives in another state they were able to contact him and confirm that he was ok still it was quite a scare for them.
the authorities claim that crimes have lowered at an impressive rate which makes me doubt if only denounced crimes were lower we did our civic duty and reported the incident even though I don't have much faith that the culprits will be caught. |

Went yesterday to see this movie the graphical violence on it was something I did not expect I was hoping more for a movie the likes of Labyrinth's or some other fantasy movie the end was also very sad depending on how to you take the movie.
All in all it was very entertaining but it won't be for everyones taste.

| » Costume parties II |
It was a good costume party I had a chance to see some guys and gals that I had not seen in quite a while and went as a good ol fashioned vampire, and Miriam as sandy from Grease (nope not the leather clad sandy) among other costumes we saw.
Vampires ( I knew I was not going to be the only one) A CSI investigator A Chinamen (kung fu garb and straw hat) An invisible man all wrapped up in bandages A moroccan princess 2 Elves Dr. pestilence
If I get authorization from my pal I'll try to upload a photo from the party :)
As this was friday night I barely had time to pick up miriam at work and later went to change at my father's house which is relatively near; an incident with the automatic door (it seems the batteries are dying) made me the focus of attention in the avenue (what haven't they seen a vampire try to close an automatic door?).

| » Costume parties |
Next friday comes the birthday party of a good friend of mine whose house is our RPG lair the thing is it's going to be a costume party.
I have been thinking about what to wear without squeezing the budget I have to admit that the idea of buying the catwoman disguise for mi wife crossed my mind ....several times.
but she already knows how she'll go; I was thinking of either a martial artists (I still have my Aikido gear), Ronnie from harry potter, a pirate or the classical vampire.
I'll try to get some pictures to post later :)
So any costume parties you guys are going to attend? and if so how are you going to disguise yourselves.

This is the town of huasca de ocampo a miner town many people from england came to work when the mines were filled with gold and silver the red roofs prevent the rain from getting in.

Our Tour bus it took us through some twisting roads around the town colorful is the elast I can say

here is the Monumental clock of pachuca from the same guys that built the big ben it's said to have a warranty of 500 years but the company that made it has dissapeared

| » A sick man and a sick woman |
Miriam says because I stayed late at night playing World of Warcraft I got sick with a sore throat and she could well be right which reminds me to buy something to stop the air currents.
After being sick most of sunday and monday I returned to work on tuesday only to find lots of smoke pouring out of my car, concerned i even took out the fire extinguisher it seems a hose broke and the fluid to stop the car from overheating sprayed into the hot engine.
I had to call a tow truck, first time I use the service my wife has been paying for a while it was a very nice tow truck compared to others I have had to use and it took me and my car to my trusted mechanic near my place of work.
But as things cannot end like this Miriam seems to be getting ill as well with a sore throat I hope it doesn't affect her as much as it did me.
next saturday we have to go to a wedding from a relative of her family so its more camera time :)

Last weekend went with Miriam to pachuca and huasco pachuca was a miner city tons of gold and silver were extracted from their mines and there are some town nearby with mines as tourist attractions.
I took several photos which I'll try to add at a later date.
Definitely worth visting Pachuca is about 1 Hour away from mexico city and the town "real del monte" is considered in the category of "magic towns" which are towns which are unique and retain their folklor.
there are 2 such town in Hidalgo one is real del monte and the other is Huasca.

Well I have not updated in a while and I was thinking why is this?
Perhaps it was a routine I had created check my friends blogs and journals and then update my own as more and more of my friends stopped updating their journals or having technical issues with them I sort of stopped updating as well.
Hoping to reverse the trend I'll start to update more often at least try to resume the once a week post hoping that my pals will start to update their own as well.

| » Elections |
This past weeks have been interesting a job opportunity appeared within the company unfortunately I didn't fit the profile the customer wanted so negotiations fell.
It seems women are more organized than men and are also less prone to conflict and well I am not a woman.
On other things we had the closest elections in the history of Mexico.
The candidate of the losing party has disqualified the elections before they even began and is now conditioning peace and stability only if the federal authorities do as he says.
I am glad that neither I nor the majority of mexicans voted for him i can only imagine with dread what he would do if he had become elected the president.

| » World Cup and other stuff... |
Oh well the adventure for Mexico in the world cup has come to an end.
this team had lots of bad luck they couldn't score against ghana when they had plenty of chances to do so and then they lost to Portugal even missing a penalty kick......
You don't get a bigger opportunity to score than that!.
And then in the game against Argentina the team receives a demonic goal even the player from Argentina admitted that he only uses that leg to get on the bus.....
On other stuff in a recent job opportunity I fitted the profile perfectly except for one little detail .... the user wanted a girl in the position so back to the usual business.

| » San miguel allende |
Two weeks ago I was in San miguel allende, beautiful town with a very colonial look in fact I didn't want to update the blog until I downloaded some pictures, but since it has been 2 weeks I might as well update now and upload pictures later.
On other stuff Saw the davinci code, x-men and the omen not overly impressed with them.
It's interesting how in x-men how the big stars with secondary characters outshined the main characters who were not as big stars.

| » Da Vinci Journal. |
well went ahead and saw it (considering I go with miriam almost every week to the movies it's no surprise) I have to say it's an interesting fiction film.
Already I'm beggining to hear comments that talk about it as if it were true.
This reminds me of some old misconceptions about if it was written on a book then it must be true.
I also expected more of a bang to the ending.
Next week is hopefully x-men where I'm sure the villains won't be defeated as easily and is the last couple of movies I have gone to see.

| » MI3 |
Saw MI3 yesterday; I have to say it's 100% an action movie.
The fighte scenes were better in MI2.
The story was much better in MI1.
And the villains were beaten relatively easy.
I hope the Da Vinci Code is much better.

| » Yay Internet |
Finally
last week I was at softteks offices instead of at HP, I have to say I'm glad I returned to me it didn't feel like we were very welcome at our offices at softtek Compared with at HP.
Softtek: No machines ready for us to work. Not Allowing personal laptops to work. Slow Connection.
HP: Machines ready for us to work Personal laptops allowed Fast Conection Our Users were glad when we returned.
On other stuff I finally have an internet conection at a decent speed at home. I'll be able to log to the internet for personal use at night and perhaps finally get that new game everyone is talking about (World of Warcraft).
