Bar Hopping details
Turns out I have been suckered into elaborate on the food and drinks. The original bar hopping posts are the announcement and the photo post by [info]freegeek.
Anyway, here goes.

7 pm - Starters and More - [info]premshree and me have Classic Margheritas - Tequila and lime blended in ice. The happy hour ensures a repeat where I go in for one with Malibu while premshree has a vodka and blue curacao cocktail. Freegeek has famous experiences with shooting vodka and arack (called landmine) and a flaming shooter with vodka, Kahlua and something. See the photo post :). Also ate nachos.

9 pm - Ming Palace - Been wanting to go here and am not disappointed. An Amstel beer each was on the card and [info]eddd had scared us into eating. So Beef in oyster sauce and Chicken Korean (randomly picked) was eaten with Prawn Shantung Noodles and Chicken fried rice.

10:30 pm - freegeek's favourite Kalpana saw us drinking a Smirnoff quarter and no food. freegeek's regular waiter's expression when we asked for the bill was priceless.

11:30 pm - Sidewok - the place which 'trained' freegeek and premshree into amateur bartenders :) I myself was 'trained' at Tavern. No food, just the peanuts. A  Guinness can each for premshree and me while freegeek had some exotic vodka based cocktail. Another round of exotic cocktails followed - some of them were as follows. Smirnoff and Irish Mist; Smirnoff, Finlandia Cranberry and Demerara sugar; Smirnoff, Bailleys and Blue Curacao. All these had secret ingrdients which the bartender refused to reveal along with some soda. The bartender was an excellent chat. While premshree and me proceeded to finish off the last two remaining Guinness cans, freegeek embarked on more shooter and chaser adventures. I don't know what the ingredients were, suffice to say, he did only marginally better than his first attempt of the evening :) But he should be a pro next time around. Premshree made a feeble attempt at catching the last train home.

2:30 am - After a successful (!) cash withdrawal from premshree's famous ATM, we proceeded to Raj at Chembur. Booze was limited to vodka and food to a Prawns Koliwada.

4 am - The remainder of the evening witnessed only shared beers.

We wanted the SigFood dude to do the honors. :)

It was fun meeting you, dude!

Teeny weeny correction for the heck of it. He wasn't my regular waiter, therefore we got off that easy :) He's only waited on me a few times. If it was the guy [info]premshree thought he'd recognised then we'd have a hard time sending back the stuff he would forcibly pour into our glasses.

Trust me! He's done that a lot. "It's on me". And it's been on him a number of times. (Pegs that is, with me but he'd have us sticking around with all his chit chat). Kalpana is very lenient with it's regulars like I told you. They make it up with goodwill and volumes :)

Another thing, I didn't particularly like the bartender at Sidewok. That guy had too much negative feelings man. He was on with his own sad story. In my small opinion since I'm talking to eliteness here :) the best bartenders are those who have the gift of the gab to make you feel like you're their best friend and argue/join forces with you on all sorts of stuff under the sun.

I'm always gonna remember you for my introduction to shooters. Right now I think I like them sweet, smooth on the throat and without flames! :)

(of course that may change with experience :)

Guess Kalpana is out of further hopping trips. Let's dedicate most of an evening to it sometime.

Agree about the attitude of the guy. He had some bad things to say about some people if you remember which is a no-no. No reflection on his cocktail making though ;). You'd agree.

I hope your shooter experience blossoms :) Though they are good only in company and silly challenges - otherwise quite pointless.
