Slack Extra: Nerds running amok!
Aaron is back from the AAS meeting...

Last week I was at the 206th meeting of the American Astronomical Society
in beautiful Minneapolis, Minnesotta. I brought one of the mics and
iRivers that we purchased with your generous donations and wore it during
much of the poster sessions and discussions around the meeting. The result
is a hodgepodge of short conversation snippets.

For the first two days I was presenting our new Slacker Astronomy
poster so many of the conversations revolve around SA. For the last
two days I was presenting a scientific poster so those conversations
are more technical. In the middle I attended a BBQ held at friend-of-the-show
Mike Koppelman's house where a bunch of astronomers drowned their
woes in gin and tonics.

It was fun. The next meeting is in Washington, DC in January.
Both Pamela and myself will be there for that one so there will be
more variety of topics. Plus we may give the mic to others to carry.
Pamela will also be at an astronomy public outreach conference in September
where she may bring back some audio goodies.

I also interviewed 4 astronomers and will slowly post them
over the next month.

Enjoy... - A.
