10:02 am - Strange things I saw today
|
1. The new Αργώ, stopping in Antikyra on its way to Venice. They're tracing the return voyage of the Argonauts backwards, as Turkey refused to grant safe passage through the Hellespont, Marmara, Bosphorus and the Black Sea.
50 ores, 65 people and two months to complete the voyage. That, in translation, means "hell of a lot of rowing."
2. One big one of these (Ok, maybe not so big. I have no clue how big they get. It definitely was the biggest non-artificial things I've ever ran into, swimming a meter away from me. It was kind of weird. Also, FKN COOL!)
Obviously, today beats the sighting of the 150m κοντοσούβλι (read: 150 meters or about 650kg of meat in single file. Apparently it went into the Guinness Book of Records. In case any of you ever did doubt that where I come from is the true cradle of civilization).

Back from Anthro camp.
That was probably the funnest paper I have given. Should really think about trying to get it in some journal or something.
Rendezvous is some good eatin' I did however lol to find out that the owner was Greek. And there is also something cool about an older black gentleman chatting you up in Greek. Had a pretty good accent too.
Other than that, was it me, or does Memphis really suck like that?
