Ok. Serenity rocked. No more info available for you all.

After coming home, I discovered that my credit card was compromised. Already shut everything down, and they were just tamper charges, so no real financial damage done, but irritating all the same. One company, Digital Age, was traced to Cyprus, the other, Trouble Bubble...to the same source. Both aren't the final stop, so no clue where they are really based. Probably purely digital and non-existent. Irritates me when I can't buy some steel toed boots and lay some justice on people who try to steal from me...but it is probably just as well. I'm not as spry as I used to be, and I know people who are much more digitally skilled than I am are on the case. Researching the situation, it seems the only 100% commonality is that everyone hit by this has a Paypal account and a Chase type credit card, so could be either. Since a huge % of the accounts out there are Chase, and Chase covers Paypal's own credit lines, it would be more likely a Paypal breach than a Chase breach, I suppose. Bah, anyway. Initially I had thought it was Amazon, but it doesn't look like it. That pleased me.

I just hate having to pass up on vindication. Still a personal struggle for me - passing up on Wrath to serve Patience. Ah well, still have come a long way, and as long as the hurt gets passed on to them, I'm satisfied. Especially if it takes the form of digital theft.

At least it wasn't a large sum, and it will be recovered. All in all, the day still turned out great. Serenity. Yum.

Wow. That sucks. But your accounts are safe(r) now? How did you realize that people were stealing from you? (I always worry about that happening to me, especially whenever I buy anything online, which I resisted doing for years for just that reason)

Serenity....sigh. Soon. Maybe tomorrow.

Some accounts have security settings to email you if a variety of things happen. Most also have online queries, which allow you to view your transaction history between statements. I generally check up on my accounts once every week or two just to make sure things are kosher, more around holidays.

Check your account options to see what is right for you. :)

I hear tell of some lovely companies outside of my credit range that even call if something slightly unusual occurs on your card. Very nice...but that's the "Super Elite Platinum Godlike Credit Range"...whereas I am "Recovering from being a college student and on my way to good credit" range.

Ah, the golden valleys of having someone else watch your money for you because it is that much of a percentage of their company's forecast. The Promised Land.

Sounds kind of spooky, in a way.

Tomorrow will be a good day for Serenity.

Whereas with my credit, I get to submit forms and wait a month, hence the use fo the highest security settings. :P
