Now I know I haven't been totally honest. I admit, there were a few distractions within that ten-year period, but I'd like to reassure myself that I still had a tight rational lid on my impulses and therefore maintained a mindset that "this is temporary & will not last so better make the most of it by not doing anything stupid." And so I managed to keep my emotions in check & my sanity carefully guarded. I'm not saying that I've turned to stone. Maybe I've turned Vulcan & suppressed my emotions with logic, but just because I've managed to suppress them doesn't necessarily mean that I haven't felt anything during that time. Also, even Vulcans have the need for release.
I guess it's my own psyche catching up on me, or my collective karma hitting me square on.
"I saw you in a brand-new way like the clouds have somehow lifted..."
"And if yesterday I heard myself saying these words, I would swear it was a lie..."
I'm afraid of losing myself again, of giving too much of myself & forgetting to leave even a little bit for my own. I've already lost six out of my nine so-called cat lives. While I still have a few left, I want to know if this one's worth all this reading, all these hours I should've spent sleeping.
I've been way too cautious, way too careful, that I never realized that by putting up these defenses I've only managed to wall myself in my own little labyrinth.
"I don't know why, but suddenly I'm falling..."
And that's what scares me the most right now.

Meanwhile, here's some linkspamming for lack of anything better to do.
From July 9 to 15, there will be another celebration of fandom in New Worlds: Transformed, to be held at the Power Plant Mall at Rockwell. The New Worlds Alliance (NWA), an organization of fan groups focused primarily on fantasy, science fiction, horror and superheroes, will be holding exhibits and activities that showcase the various ways they show their love for their favorite shows, books and authors. Highlighting the event is the opening of the film adaptation of JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, a week before the release of the last book of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
This is the power of fandom. Who else can dictate to large production outfits what movie to make next? Many of the recent box-office hits were either fantasy, such as Pirates of the Carribean and Shrek, or about superheroes like Spiderman and the Fantastic Four; all of these are highly successful franchises that have generated fans from all over. Many upcoming movies are from either the same or affiliated genres: Transformers, Harry Potter and Stardust. Look further down the road and you'll see offerings such as Batman, Star Trek and Wolverine. Hollywood, it seems, is tapping into what some call the Fandom Phenomenon: groups of people from widely different backgrounds coming together to celebrate the stories and characters they love.
The local fans are no less passionate. The past five years have seen numerous events and conventions that serve as venues for fans to meet, greet, connect and celebrate.
But what makes these events truly interesting are the fans themselves. These are people inspired by imagination and touched by creativity, who choose to let their respective fandoms shape their lives. Don't let the costumes, quoted lines, quaint mannerisms and affectations, and the obsession with merchandise fool you. Take a chance and engage one (or two or three) in conversation; you'll be surprised to see how lucid and grounded they actually are--and you'll find they're witty too! Take the time to stroll around the exhibits, greet the characters in costume and find out exactly how their fandoms have set their imaginations on fire and touched their hearts. Explore the activities offered in this event: play a game or two, have yourself sorted into a House, learn the Vulcan Salute. You may be surprised to find that you're actually a fan at heart.
With such a following, it is no surprise that outfits like Rockwell Power Plant Mall, Level Up! Games, Dream FM, and Fandom Cafe have supported this event. It is open to the public. And the entrance, like imagination, is free. For more information, please log on to http://newworlds.ph/.
Yes, internet is all down at work. And by that I mean, IT has pulled out all internet access, allowing access to only company & account approved sites.
My new schedule for December (for the curious) is still 12:00 noon to 9:00pm, but with Sundays & Mondays off. Meaning, I'll be home for Christmas & (hopefully) New Year's.
I have a new phone, bought with my hard earned 13th month pay. It looks a little something like this. My officemate insisted on naming it Buhawi(as in Cyclone), since she already named my laptop Nyebeh(as in Snow).
And for lack of anything better to do, here's Sarah Michelle Gellar trying to pull off a Wonder Woman.
There's this email going around for quite some time now showing of a colorful picture in space of what was tagged as the "Eye of God". I received a couple of emails showing the same thing, and this is how it's supposed to look like:
I remember receiving the emails months ago, and I found it nice so I stowed it away in my Photobucket and forgot about it.
Then earlier today I was browsing through NASA's photo gallery and guess what I found? Apparently, the real name of the formation is called the Helix Nebula. It's a planetary nebula about 650 light-years away in the constellation Aquarius. Also, the said image is "a composite of infrared data from Spitzer and visible-light data from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope". Click here to read the entry in full.
Back then I already understood the concept, although I didn't have any name for it. All I knew was that they looked good together, and that I felt really bad whenever they had an arguement or fought over something. Also, when Doogie moved out of their house & Vinnie moved in with him, it was slash heaven.
Too bad there weren't any internets back then. Otherwise, I guess there'd be a plethora of fanboys/fangirls going bonkers over these two and pairing then up to kingdom come.
Sorry guys, but I can't go. Have to do double-shift this weekend at work to cover for all the end-of-the-month chorva, not to mention the Undas-related chenelyn. Oh well, I hope you guys have fun. I'll be there in spirit, as always.

I think I might not be able to pull off the Tuxedo Mask chenez at the NWA Halloween Party. I'm hoping & praying to the gods that I have faith in that I'll be able to finish everything before Tuesday. Otherwise, I might be forced to (eeep!) recycle a costume yet again. ::pulls hair in frustration::
Yes, real life is interfering with my social life. Me not like dat very much desu~!

Halloween is one of the very few times in the year when cosplayers can just be themselves. Same thing goes to weirdos, geeks, mutants, and freaks.
Just testing if I could make a post. If I still have time, I just might be able to explain how I can still do this at work.

Something I just discovered while randomly surfing the Net yesterday. It's a virtual laser keyboard. The actual device is about the size of an average cellphone, which projects a keyboard on a smooth surface. From what I understand, it can be connected either by cable or by bluetooth, usually for PDAs. Usual price range is I think around $100 or so. I found a Japanese website (don't ask why or how) where it's priced at 9,800 yen. Honestly, I'm impressed but still a bit sceptical about the technology. Obviously, it might go wonky if you choose to work in a well-lit environment. But then, there's no such thing as perfect technology, isn't it?

"You starvelling, you eel-skin, you dried neat's-tongue, you bull's-pizzle, you stock-fish--O for breath to utter what is like thee!-you tailor's-yard, you sheath, you bow-case, you vile standing tuck!"*
I got that from the Online Shakespearean Insulter. I'm getting a lot of good ones, but the one I posted above got me snickering here at my workstation. (The people around me must be thinking I'm flunking another agent. Well, actually I am, but that's beside the point methinks.) And just for the curious, the above line came from Henry IV, Part I, or so the online insulter says.

Since na-challenge ako, I'm trying to finish my Tuxedo Mask costume for the NWA Halloween Party at Hard Rock next week. Will I finish it on time? Will I be able to find a nice rental shop for the tux just in case I can't finish the damn thing? Will I be able to pull it off and not be mistaken for a random stage magician?
Kasi naman, na-discover na ng IT department ang LiveJournal at Multiply. Meaning, wala na akong access sa kanila, among other sites. Apparently, pati proxy browsers naka-firewall din.
So now, wala na akong pwedeng mapag-tripan pag bored na ako dito sa office. Except for CuteOverload. Fottah, pag pati yan iba-block pa nila, makakatikim na sila sa akin ng Bolang Apoy na May Pako™!!!
I finally uploaded the storyboard version of the Plushie Photoshoot done a long time ago. Mejo it took a while kasi nag-iinarte yung Multiply nu'ng kasalukuyan ko silang ina-upload. But now that I'm done, I'm more than happy to present to you...

I met up with some friends last night (namely team7, lisan, kitsune_jade, charlesatan, and embai) at Megamall. It's nice to eat dinner & just have fun with friends that way. (Methinks team7 has an entry about it already.) lisan & I had such fun pimping Supernatural, in any case. Not to mention the never-ending fandom crack. Even embai managed to get something that resembles a plot going for kitsune_jade's proposed HikaGo+Batman crack!fic. And if memory serves me right, team7 agreed to write it. Somewhere along the way, lisan mentioned the Dancing Gojyo (she mentioned it a few posts ago), which reminded me of the Hakkai Poppins video I downloaded from someone in LJ. In anycase, team7 mentioned that she's never seen it, which made me promise to upload & promptly pimp the said video to her.
To cut the long story short, here's the video for download in all it's glory:
