I was in high school ten years ago. How old am I?

It's true! Beast Wars is 10 years old! Celebrate with some 10th Anniversary figures! I will be getting all of them. Every single one. And I will bathe in them.
And though I do have enough Justice League figures to bathe in by now, I wonder why. As I mentioned Wednesday, I picked up two new three-packs. The first had Copperhead, Lex Luthor, and Mirror Master. I've been jonesing for Copperhead for a long while now. He's awesome. Also, orange. And you know me and orange. Despite that tail of his, he stands better than most normal guys. And speaking of normal guys and my growing JLU-collecting regret, Lex Luthor has a problem. His legs appear to be of DIFFERENT LENGTHS. Perhaps one of them is merely warped, I don't know. But he doesn't stand upright. He's from one of those V8 commercials, apparently. God damn. Mirror Master, amazingly, stands perfectly fine.
God damn, Luthor. Just when I thought I had seen it all...
The other set is three of the Justice Lords, an amoral version of the Justice League from a parallel dimension. Of the three, only Wonder Woman's head is a new part. Everything else is merely repainted, which means that we can see Batman and Superman's molded boot-and-pant lines under their new costumes. D'oh.
Why do I keep buying these? BECAUSE I LOVE JUSTICE LEAGUE.
'Scuse me while I go out and look for the Green Lantern 3-pack, Supergirl, and Steel.

It depends upon how far through high school you were at the time, as well as whether you were advanced or left behind any. I think 15 is kinda average for high school, so I'm guessing you're 25 +/- 2, which seems to jibe with what I can remember of other comments.
My parents tell me that the first movie they took me to a theater to see was Return of the Jedi - now that info'll probably give you a larger range for guesses of my age. :)
My parents tell me the same thing.
ARE YOU MY LONG LOST TWIN?
Or is it a CONSPIRACY?
Either must be true.

BOTH! And I'm super-powered, was abducted by aliens, and killed our parents.
I'm sure I mixed something up in there - wasn't there some cloning involved too? Man, now I'm going to have to go back and read all the archives...
Poor Megatron. Occupational hazard, I guess. And I don't care who I have to stab, I'm getting all of those BW toys, and I'm willing to stab multiple times for Inferno. No bathing though.

"Happy 10th anniversary to you too."
NO! Don't bait the slash fans any further! :O
Good, so I wasn't the only one thinking that Primal should have just gone with the diamonds and a nice dinner out.
As I recall you are 14 months younger than I am, which makes you 26 right now.
And your level of accomplishment burns me like fire every moment I am awake.
...LIKE FIRE!

As I recall, Mr. Willis is aged 26 years, 8 months, and (in my time zone) 13 days.
This, of course, is just a rough estimate. (whistles)

I was in grad school ten years ago. And I started the very first version of my TF review site in January 1996. Where's my cane?

Yeah, I will probably bathe in them too. Even if they are called Beasties here.

I don't know why, but the "waggle waggle" just MAKES the comic :D
Too bad I've already got every TV show character except original Waspinator and original Tarantulas, and TM Big T is way cooler than the original could ever be. And when you've already got the DVDs of Beast Wars...
What about the new Primal and Megs, though? I heard they weren't going to be the Robot Master ones, but something else?
They're new molds and deluxes, yeah. Will have Cyber Key activations.
(And the BW Anniversary toys come with a build-a-Transmutate! You can't miss that!
There's also a version of the photo above using Robot Masters Primal and Megatron, but I couldn't get them in a pose that didn't look like they were slow-dancing.

The...with the dancing...and the...*breaks into giggles* Such the WRONG connotations! XD
- OM
And now it looks more along the lines of Primal comforting a weeping Megatron. Shoulda gone with the dancing.

I was in my first year of university ten years ago..
Isn't there supposed to be a new Beast Wars comic starting in March, or something? And chances are, someone said this, but I'm too lazy to read.
Hells yes. I saw the preview of it a month or two ago, and I made boom-boom. Then I made boom-boom when I saw the zombie Fantastic Four. Then I made boom-boom a few weeks later when I saw Marvel Zombies. Then I made boom-boom because I ate to much chili.
Yes. Marvel zombies is awesome.
And it's getting hard as hell to find. Friend of mine who works at a comic store said where they order from was in backorder.
I honestly didn't know that. now i feel like three times as lucky to have mine. :D
I seriously cannot wait until those get here, they just look so awesome. And hey seeing as you were in high school ten years ago and still love it, that means you wer'nt a idiot that long ago!

"they just look so awesome."
Do you mean the ones in the picture above? 'cause those are the actual toys from 1995. All that's been seen of the upcoming 10th anniversary Primal/Megs are slides from BotCon, which noone has copies of.
Except Japan is just rereleasing the original two, with some minor changes, for their anniversary.
my eyes ain't that well trained, eh that's what I get for paying less attention to the internet :p

I will weep in two months time as I leaves the 20s. Right now I'm just FUBAR, but I can't wait to see those 10th Anniversary Beast Wars toys. Lately, I've been buying Beast Wars figures off eBay. I had finished high-school and made a failed attempt at university when Beasties was on TV. (Yes, I'm another Canadian.) I remember the awe when I turned on the TV and first saw an episode. Anyhoo...
Old is when you can sit around like me going:
Eh, I remember when the 3 3/4" GI Joe figures first came out. We didn't have not fansy swivle arm action that first year, all the Joes had to shot straight ahead. Eh, and you had to walk five miles uphill both ways in the snow to get a Cobra Trooper figure.
Ha ha, from the picture though I'm waiting for the Shortpacked issue when some complains that King Kong would have been better if he was robot fighting robot T-Rexs. Or how Kong could have transformed and shot down the bi-planes.
...is it just the angle, or did you rip out Megatron's tongue?
I dunno where the tongue is. I think I took it out once upon a time so his mouth wasn't spring-action closed.
So where are these pictures of David bathing in Justice League figures?
I found some Xevoz (Frankenpunker, Hyper Guardian, and 2 Infil-Traitors) at a close out store called Tuesday Morning today. Buying 2 for a coworker and 2 for myself I couldn't help but think of you and how I'm the guy getting yelled at in "that comic". :p
But I MUST HAVE THE JUSTICE LORDS!

Forgot to mention they were $2.99.
Okay played with them now and I am SO kicking myself for not getting any earlier. Hyper Guardian especially is possibly one of the greatest super hero toys ever.
wow, y'all are making me feel... YOUNG!!! 16 and proud!!! |
