The sweet taste of nectar
On Friday I had the sweet taste of nectar, the experience of almost ambrosia from the gods. Yes my brother brought some Krispy Kreme doughnuts and brought some home from me.

Apart from the huge American retail brands that are internationally known like McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, and Starbucks, there are some that are just appearing in Europe and in the UK. There is quite a few Subway sandwich shops now and even have adverts on the TV and radio. There is one in my local town, I do like their 12 inches in my mouth *snicker*. Brands that are just coming over gradually are Dunkin' Doughnuts and Krispy Kreme. Quite often when shops and brands come over to the UK they start selling in Harrods. The first Krispy Kreme shop opened about a year ago there but now they are spreading out.

He brought 12 of them to share out at work and around. I know they are evil and really unhealthy but oh my god they taste so good. I had 2 and wanted more, more! My brother has had them before but I have never tasted them before but knew of the brand from my American friends and TV and film.

My brother said to me sweetly afterwards that he limits himself to 2 and wont have any more! I swear I could have just kept eating them till I exploded. They are like the crack of food.

Maybe they get you addicted so you have to buy more and more!

So in conclusion I like Krispy Kreme. Now to find a Dunkin' Doughnuts to try! :)

the packaged krispy kreme's are nowhere as good as one's bought in a krispy kreme shop. Sadly, they're closing them all in the US - going to prepackaged only. They just closed the last one in the city a few weeks ago.

I have never had a fresh Krispy Kreme. Only the ones prepackaged and they suck. And by the looks of it from this other person's comment, I won't get a fresh one any time soon. hehe

Dunkin' Doughnuts is fabulous! I love their doughnuts. But really, any fresh baked warm yummy jelly filled doughnut topped with thick iceing is good in my opinion!!! :oD

Dunkin' is nowhere near as good as Krispy Kreme!

Krispy Kreme's are really amazing. I usually only eat one at a time, the experience is so good that I don't need more.

Dunkin' kicks Krispy's ass! Way!!
Wait'll you try a Munchkin...ahh those delightfully delicate donut-holes all ready to pop in your mouth.

Eh, I've found I prefer Dunkin' Donuts to Krispy Kreme, really. Krispy Kreme is waaaaay too sugary for my taste...

You rotter , see what you've done, you've made me wanna rush out and try some now - and I'm in London this afternoon as well. I'm very week and susceptible when it comes to this kind of food you know.

There was an interesting documentary on this a few months back (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3516656.stm).

Apparently they're a big evil corporation with plans of global domination and making everyone fat and addicted to junk food.

I guess if you're already fat and addicted to junk food then you're no worse off with them arriving over here. So it's not all bad.
