Washington Uber Alles
Now this is just plain scary. The short and sweet of it: an IRS agent is claiming that a small comic shop owner in Washington State owes $14,000.00 in taxes based solely on her back issue inventory, and is telling her she has to destroy (either by burning or shredding) her back issue inventory by December 31st to avoid legal action.
This is one of the most moronic things I've ever come across. How can you be forced to destroy your inventory? Has anyone ever heard of anything like that outside of a Nazi rally?
Here's the comic shop in question. I'd suggest anyone who's as disgusted by this as I am to help her out it in some way, even if it's just an e-mail to keep her spirits up.
