Christmas with the family was surprisingly good. And not just because I got an Xbox360 ;)
But on the plane ride home, I started getting sickly. I went to the hospital, and thankfully it seems to just be my insides being bitches. And they are still being bitches.

People have asked me recently what I am looking for in my perfect mate. And I think I'm getting close to knowing. I think I will post this one publically, and perhaps add to it later.
Physically -
Must be interested in physical activity.
Must be motivated to live a relatively healthy lifestyle.
Must have some body hair.
Must not regularly shave down there.
Must enjoy some type of exercise, preferably any of the following:
- Weight Training
- Wrestling
- Parkour or Free Running
- Running / Jogging
Mentally -
Must be able to carry a conversation.
Must have an opinion about politics, current affairs, and pop culture.
Must enjoy some form of reading (comic books fit this requirement).
Must have an ongoing interest in something (otherwise known as a hobby).
Must not type in "733t speak" regularly.
Must have a good knowledge of a foreign language (this includes Spanish).
Must be willing to ask questions and learn.
Motivation -
Must want to do something with life.
Must find some enjoyment with profession.
Note: if enjoyment is not found, mate should be actively looking for a profession they will enjoy!
Must be able to motivate me, and want better things for us.
Socially -
Must be able to have a social life.
Must be willing to go out once and a while, and stay in once in a while.
Drinking is acceptable, but I am not a fan of any other substance use.
Must be as comfortable in a cafe as they are in a bar.
Must enjoy going out to eat, and must enjoy trying a variety of foods.
Nerddom -
Must have some nerd classification - whether it be anime, comics, video games, or computer savvy. Perferably all four.
Note: No Super-Trekkies.
Emotionally -
Must be loving.
Must love me for who I am.
Must have the werewithal to understand and work with his own emotional issues as well as mine.
Must be emotionally caring, understanding, and supportive.
Must not be a push over.
Must be relatively stable (or at least as stable as I am, which is generally not a high bar to reach).
Must be able to communicate his feelings.
Must have an awareness of self.
Sexually -
Must cuddle.
Must be willing to try new things.
Must like kissing.
Plusses! -
Glasses
Traveled or lived outside of the United States for an extended period of time.
Good with the cooking.
Deal Breakers -
Feminine guys. Great friends, but it's just a huge HUGE turn off.
Waifs. If you feel that you should starve yourself to be like Kate Moss, it's a deal breaker.

Wow.
I remembered C-Street as being entirely tragic with horrible DJs, but when I thought it could be no more tragic, they proved me wrong. From the apathetic bartenders (checking their phone every five minutes (with 2 notable exceptions)), to the music mixed like a convulsing crackwhore getting a toothy blow job, to the group of boys who insisted on throwing open every door with dramatic flair ... and as the night progressed simply slamming into them like birds hitting a glass door. There was a "pack" of overweight (400+), poorly dressed men who insisted on playing madonna and abba in the back section of the bar all night, a group of african-american people who's gender could not quite be identified, and a group of boys who I thought were women at first glance.
The insanity aside, there was something very disturbing that I saw. There was a group of like six people, and one of them got too drunk too quickly and passed out in the back beer garden early. Throughout the night, I saw them blow smoke into his face, sit on his lap, taunt him, and otherwise abuse him. He walked out to his car and sat on the hood, unable to stand. I went up to him and asked him if he needed a ride home, and he said no. His friends had left him in the parking lot, too drunk to stand, while they hung out outside talking at the end of the night. They then threw him in the backseat of his car, and drove off - all of them way too drunk to be driving. I can accept bad DJs , attitudes, and a variety of over the top personalities. I can't accept people treating other people in such a way. To be quite honest, I almost got into a fight I was so angry. I don't *get* angry.
Throughout the night, I just had to keep saying to myself, "Really?" Is this our fabled gay community? Is this the place where newcomers arrive and get their first experience of Champaign? People willingly come here? People can treat people like that?! People can have those attitudes in the cornfields? Really? Really?
