Just popping out of lurk to announce that in addition to the three Secrets and Lies stories in the works (the Christmas episode, Picture Frame, and an original) I've also begun work on what looks like a very LONG S&L/Ghostbusters crossover.
Don't stone me yet; it's gonna be groovy, promise.

Owing to a variety of factors (most prominently my being sucked into another fandom, having a houseguest, and school), Secrets and Lies is going on hiatus until I return from Spring Break in Kentucky on March 15th. At that time we'll do our best to resume a more regular schedule--two stories are in the works and should be finished sometime shortly thereafter.

There were two episodes in which the Monkees appeared in karate uniforms (called gis for those of you not in the know). Unfortunately, both times they were in white.
Until now.

Yeah, so, my skills aren't THAT great but at least you can imagine it easier now. ;)

The Third Annual Monkees Fanfic Awards took place tonight, and I'm proud to announce that Secrets and Lies won both Best Series and Best Mike Character!
A big thank you goes out to the judges, organizers, and the readers who keep reminding us that new stories are due. ;)

We were right!
If you'll recall, in Double Secrets we established that Harold was actually stepping on Peter—it's something I felt compelled to put in after watching the scenes in slow motion; it seemed to me that they were actually stepping on him.
Well . . .
From the Fairy Tale commentary: "Those guys actually stepped on me, too."
I was right. Wow . . .

This I found interesting . . . I made use of Word's "word count" feature and when combined, the Secrets and Lies series is 137,492 words long. That's almost three full novels worth (going by the NaNoWriMo model, which is based on 50,000 words). In manuscript form it would be 458 pages.
And the series isn't even half over. *boggles*

Well, as it seems that this journal has gained a few spectators, then next time we post a story I'll update the times along with unlocking the posts so they pop up on y'alls friends lists.
'Ows that? :)

A big thanks to everyone who has responded, either on mailing lists, here, private emails, or in IMs. Your thoughts are most welcome, even if I couldn't respond to each one of you individually (I won't speak for any feedback received by my coauthor). Thank you to everyone!
