Love is not a feeling, it is a decision.
As so aptly put by my dear sister. Words of wisdom from someone who's found love.
That's given me inspiration for a poem. And all credit goes to her for her inspirational words.
When you love someone enough to know
That it's best to let them go
And if that is just what you do
That's how you know your love is true.
That's one way to look at it
I change the scope as I see fit
And I now choose to see what's fine
I'll hold you tight, I'm glad you're mine.
It is true love when both can grow
When both do grow and it does show
When in all trials, and in any test
When solving it together brings out the best.
You've made me change some I tell you
I hope I've helped in some ways too
You've made me learn to eat my pride
To reveal what I do feel inside.
It is true love when respect is there
When both are valued and there is care
And when one has to make a choice
"My love before me", says that small voice.
It's the first time I've felt this way
I feel for you I'm glad to say
I've always been afraid to fall
You make me want to give my all.
I love the way you care for me
You make me smile, you've made me see
That loving someone makes you shine
Brings out the best and makes things fine.
Your being there has cured my pain
There is small loss but there is gain.
You don't want thanks so I shall say
You've brightened my life, not just my day.
